Chapter 24: Sending Help

Jihyo reaches for the coin and nothing, the ground didn't shake, they didn't get trapped. It was just silent.

"I guess it's safe?" Chaeyoung still waiting for something to happen.

"You picked right... I think." The leader went up the passage way, the other girls followed but one stayed.

As they got to the top they noticed that someone was gone.

"Where's Jisoo?" Jeongyeon asked.

"I thought she was behind us." Sana said.

"I'm here now!" As Jisoo came up from the passage way, the girls stood there suspicious.

"What did I miss?"

"I thought you were behind us." Jeongyeon said.

"I just wanted to see the staff a bit closer." She replied.

"Sure you did." Nayeon mumbled.

"I'm going back to the tree house and put this in." Jisoo held the battery for the radio and walked back.

"I'll come with." Dahyun announced.

"I'm coming to." Momo followed Dahyun.

The other girls went to the village to help out some more.

As the three girls arrived at the top of the tree house, Jisoo immediately put the battery in the radio.

"Is it working?" Momo asked.

Jisoo turned the dial trying each one saying the same exact thing through the mic, "Is anyone there?"

But there was no reply, only a the static noise.

"This is hopeless." Jisoo pushed the radio and gave up.

"Let me try." Dahyun offered, turning the dial again.

Korean Emergency Service

"Have we gotten any closer to finding those nine girls?" One of the two workers asked.

"No sign, the emergency services are still trying to look around." His friend replied.

"Hello... is anyone there?" A voice could be heard from the radio in front of them.

They quickly scrambled to it and answered.

"This is the Korean Emergency Service, who is speaking?"

"My name... Dahyun... one of ... people who were on the ship..." The connection was weak.

"She's one of the missing girls." The guy beside him pointed at the profile.

"Are the other girls with you?"

"Yes... they're here..."

"Do you know where you are?"

"On the island... broken off... Korea..." The signal was lost.

"On an island, broken off, Korea?" The other worker wrote down what she said.

"I think I know where they are."

"Broken off?" Jisoo said.

"I couldn't think of any thing to say." Dahyun shrugged.

"Was a part of Korea, an earthquake occurred, there's a volcano on it I mean you can say a lot of things." Momo spoke.

"We should wait here." Jisoo suggested.

"Didn't you think that Jisoo was acting a bit weirdly back there." Nayeon said, whilst sitting near the fire pit.

"Weird as in how?" Tzuyu asked, as she sat sat down next to Sana.

"Weird as in she must be up to something." Jeongyeon finished.

"She's just sending help." Sana spoke.

"Yeah only for her to get off this island." Chaeyoung joined in.

"She wouldn't do that." Mina said.

"For all we know she could be planning to steal the staff."

"Even if she leaves us we already got help." Tzuyu pointed at the village people.

"If you say wooden boats are safe then you are crazy, plus what if there was a storm again what will you do?" Nayeon hinted.

"Are you guys going against Jisoo, she's helped us a lot, Jihyo tell them." Mina demanded.

Jihyo sat mutely and shook her.

"She might be up to something."

Mina and Sana shot up and gave her a confusing look.

"What do you mean?" Tzuyu puzzled.

Flashback

2 months ago before Jisoo and Jihyo separated

Jihyo was in her office with Jisoo, which had the golden ball in her hand.

"Jisoo, could you take the artefact to one of the glass cabinets." Jihyo instructed.

"I'm afraid she can't do that." A deep voice spoke.

"Who are you?" Jihyo inquired, looking at a man who had a black suit on with other two other men with him.

"We're here to take the artefact and the rest you have." He replied.

Jihyo looked confused and then went to Jisoo.

"I'm sorry, I sold them." She hung her head in shame.

More people started to take the artefacts from the glass cabinets.

"Your payment will come in a few days, the museum thanks you." He left to help the others.

"Museum..." Jihyo mumbled to herself.

"You sold the artefacts to the museum... for what?!" Her voice started to raise.

"We needed money, how else will we raise?"

"We could have part time jobs."

"It's not enough for the transport, the equipment, we don't even have enough money for us to eat!" Jisoo cried.

Jihyo went quiet and sat down in her chair.

"The exhibition open in two months, I hope you'll be there." Jisoo exited the room, whilst Jihyo stayed and sighed.

Flashback End

"That was five years ago, do you still think she will do something like this?" Chaeyoung asked.

"I don't know, it's like I never knew her in the first place." Jihyo said.

"We just have to keep an eye on her." Nayeon suggested.

"Let's wait for them." Jeongyeon nodded to the others.
