Chapter 22: Village Help

The girls were gathered together, with Jihyo who kept avoiding eye contact with the others and Nayeon stood with a serious face staring straightforward.

While the others stood there, still disheartened the fact Jihyo broke their promise, Mina tried to make her happy.

Jisoo still kept the photo and staring at it, recalling her memories.

"First, you guys will help with the farming, then I'll split you guys off in teams." The leader explained.

The girls got baskets and harvested the plants which was near the village entrance. It was an awkward and silent job, no one talked to each other. Nayeon didn't look at anyone, instead she kept doing the work she was told.

Chaeyoung moved to Mina whispering in her ear.

"Did you talk to Jihyo, I'm worried about her."

"I'm also worried about Nayeon, she hasn't spoken to anyone since this happened." Mina kept harvesting.

All the girls were worried about them even Jisoo, though she was still curious about the photo.

"How do you know Jihyo?" Tzuyu asked Jisoo who was still looking at the photo.

"We met by our fathers, when her father visited us she was there with him. They were going away for a while so me and Jihyo stayed with each other and that's how we became close."

Jisoo remembered when they first met.

Flashback

"Hi, my name is Park Jisoo, what's your name?" The girl held out her hand.

"My name is Kim Jisoo, nice to meet you." Jisoo shook her hand.

"I want to be an adventurer like my father." Jihyo smiled.

"Me too, we should be partners like our dads."

"Partners?" As Jihyo held out her pinkie.

"Partners." Jisoo promised what she said.

Flashback End

"Okay gather around!" The leader gathered the girls around.

"I'm going to split you off into groups, two will carry on harvesting, two will go and supervise the kids, two will help build a boat and the other four will help weave baskets." He put them into groups.

DahMo are helping build a boat.

SaTzu are carrying on with harvesting.

MiChaeng are going to supervise the kids.

Finally JishyoNaJeong were the ones who are fishing.

DahMo

The two girls helped the other villagers building a boat out of wood, they had soar red hands as they were tying the logs together.

"Ow! My hand." Momo exclaimed, there was a cut on the palm of her right hand.

"Are you okay?" Dahyun immediately walked up to her if she was okay.

Dahyun held her hand and then back at Momo, who was looking at her.

They both locked eyes for a moment.

"I'll get something to bandage up the cut." Dahyun smiled.

MiChaeng

Mina and Chaeyoung were surrounded by kids, both looked so happy.

Chaeyoung who was sitting down was given a stick by one of the kids , she soon realised what could do.

Mina, who was near her, was speaking with one of the women in Korean whilst playing around with the kids at the same time. She never knew how much they've learnt from Jihyo's father.

She went back to Chaeyoung, who was finished what she was drawing.

It was a drawing of a tiger and penguin with a heart in the middle.

"What does this mean?" Mina asked.

"It's a drawing of me and you." Chaeyoung sneakily held Mina's hand.

SaTzu

While Sana was sitting down because of her injured leg, Tzuyu continued to harvest the crops.

Tzuyu looked at Sana who was holding her leg in pain, she rushed over to her to see if she's okay.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Sana smiled back like nothing happened.

Tzuyu knew there was something bothering her leg and went to get help with one of the villagers.

Few moments later, she found someone who could help Sana.

"Who's this?" Sana asked as Tzuyu walked up to her.

"Someone who can help."

She let the guy do his job and her wound seemed to be healed a bit. He then cleaned it with water and Sana squealed a bit, but Tzuyu held her hand. Cloth was wrapped around her leg, replacing the cloth that was placed by Tzuyu when they were stranded on the island.

He soon finished his job and the girls thanked him.

"You didn't have to do that you know." Sana smiled at her.

Tzuyu sat down next to her, "I did what I had to do."

They continued to stare at each other deeply.

JishyoNaJeong

They weaved silently, no one spoke a word. Nayeon, who was determined to get the job done, didn't look at anyone. Jeongyeon became agitated and was worried that she'll snap at any moment.

Jihyo was slowly weaving her basket, she kept looking at the other girls and back to her basket.

Jisoo, was still thinking about the photo, she couldn't forget that precious moment.

Jeongyeon stood up and went to Jihyo, sitting next to her.

"Jihyo, are you okay?" She asked her politely.

Jihyo nodded silently.

"Why don't you talk to her?" Jisoo joined in.

Jihyo was taken aback when she spoke to her.

"But... what about you?"

"I think your friendship with these girls are important to you now." Jisoo smiled at her.

Jihyo took a deep breathe and sat down next to Nayeon, she kept weaving her basket.

"Nayeon..." Jihyo spoke.

She ignored her and still had a serious face on.

"I'm sorry... I know I should've told you the truth, but I didn't have the courage to do so." She continued, "I know that I promised that we all should tell truth and not lie, and I broke that."

Nayeon kept weaving, but she was listening.

"My friendship with you guys is more important than myself, please forgive me." Jihyo pleaded.

Nayeon stopped weaving and turned to her.

"If you promise that you would always tell us the truth, I would forgive you." She held out her pinkie.

"Childish." Jeongyeon teased her.

Nayeon gave her a glare.

"I promise." Jihyo accepted.

"Everyone, gather around!" The leader blew his horn.
