Chapter 63 wedding chaos cont.
Alexander's POV

She starts pacing, hands flying everywhere. ‘You’re meant to be the rich, psycho, overprotective alpha fiancé, right?’ she snaps. ‘Then how the hell did someone get to her?"

I don’t answer. Because she’s right.

I failed.

Jess finally drops into a chair, burying her face in her hands. “God. I almost lost her.”

My throat tightens.

Yeah. Me too.

“She’s not going anywhere,” I say quietly.

Jess lifts her head. “You sure? Because this wedding’s in six days, and my dress doesn’t even fit right anymore and I’m not giving a maid-of-honor speech if she’s in a damn coma.”

That makes me almost smile.

Almost.

“She’s tough,” I murmur. “She’s mine.”

Jess eyes me carefully, then softens. “Yeah. I know. Just don’t screw this up. And I swear to God, Alexander… if she loses that baby, I will neuter you.”

I nod once. Fair.

And just like that, we both fall into a rare silence. The kind that comes when you’ve both faced death in the eye and it blinked first.

Jess stands. “I want to see her.”

“They said one person at a time.”

She narrows her eyes. “You can watch me walk in, or you can watch me flip this entire waiting room. Your choice.”

I step aside and she storms in.

And I stay behind. Alone. Staring at the door she just vanished through, already planning the bloodbath I’m about to unleash on the enemies.

Because they just fucked with my girl.

And I don’t forgive. I destroy.

I leave the hospital just after midnight, the chill in the air doing nothing to cool the heat in my veins.

I’m not thinking about sleep.

Not thinking about the wedding.

Not even thinking about the baby.

Right now, there’s only one thing on my mind—retribution.

I slide into the back of the blacked-out Maybach waiting by the curb. Jace is already inside, laptop open, files spread across the seat like a deck of death.

“Talk.”

He nods. “Three names. All connected to Dahlia’s side. Her two half-brothers—Nico and Renzo Alverez. And their cousin, Rico Vasquez. They funded the hit. Tracked Ivy for weeks.”

My hands tighten into fists.

“Are they in the city?”

“Rico’s here. The other two are flying in tomorrow. Private jet. Land at 8:42 AM.”

“Do we have access?”

Jace smirks. “It’s already grounded. Mechanical issues.” He makes air quotes with his fingers. “Shame.”

“Good.”

Because I want them to watch what happens to the first one.

I crack my neck, roll up my sleeves. “Where’s Rico?”

“Penthouse suite. Voss Hotel. Top floor. Three armed guards, all ex-cartel.”

“Take me there. Now.”

Jace nods. “You want backup?”

I look at him like he’s lost his damn mind. “Do I look like I need backup?”

He laughs once. “Didn’t think so, boss.”

1:27 AM – Voss Hotel

The hallway outside Rico’s penthouse is bathed in low red lighting. Classy. Expensive.

Too fucking bad he’s about to repaint it in blood.

I signal to Jace with a slight tilt of my head, and within seconds, the guards posted at the elevator are on the floor. One unconscious. One with a bullet in his femur.

I kick open the penthouse door.

Rico barely has time to lift his glass of scotch before I’m in front of him, gun aimed at his temple, finger resting on the trigger like it’s itching for a reason.

“Alexander…” he rasps, eyes wide. “It was just a message—”

“Yeah?” I sneer. “Here’s mine.”

I pistol-whip him so hard he crashes through the glass coffee table, shards embedding in his side. He screams. Whimpers. Pathetic.

I step over the wreckage, grab him by the collar and slam him against the wall.

“You think you can put your hands on my fiancée?” I hiss. “You think you can hurt my family and get away with it?”

“She’s—She’s nothing but a pawn—!”

I pull my gun again and shoot him in the kneecap.

He screams like a dying animal.

“Ivy is everything. She is the blood in my fucking veins.”

He’s sobbing now, begging.

Good.

I kneel beside him, voice low and cold. “I should kill you right now. But I want your family to see you crawl back to them. Bleeding. Broken. Useless.”

I lean in closer, eyes locked on his. “And if they come for her again, I won’t be this merciful.”

I leave him on the floor, a ruined mess, as Jace comes in to clean up.

“You want me to finish him?” he asks.

“No. Let him crawl home. Let him deliver the message.”

Jace nods. “And the brothers?”

“Set a meeting. Tomorrow. Tell them it’s about a truce.”

“And when they show?”

I smile coldly. “I bury them.”
