Chapter 798 Angry Slap at Debra

Chapter 798 Angry Slap at Debra

When Debra saw Edward, her heart clenched.

Patrick quickly stood up and walked over. "Dad, why didn't you tell me you were coming? I would have picked you up."

"This is my own house, not someone else's place. Why would I need you to pick me up? That would just be awkward." Byron let out a cold snort. He never had much patience for his only son.

Patrick's expression darkened.

"Grandpa, I heard Molly has been staying with you to recover. How is she? Is she feeling better?" Debra stood nervously behind Patrick, putting on a fake smile.

"Molly is doing much better. She even got her appetite back while staying with me." Byron looked up at Edward with a puzzled expression. "Edward, you brought me back to Riverside Villa and brought your father along too. Is there something you need to tell us?"

Edward leaned down and carefully straightened the cashmere blanket over his grandfather's knees. His eyes narrowed slightly, a cold look settling in them. "Haven't you always wanted to know who was working behind the scenes with the Clark Group to leak Molly's psychiatric report? And Dad, haven't you wanted to know who's been stabbing the Wellington Group in the back? That person isn't far away at all. They're right here in this room."

The moment he finished speaking, his sharp, cutting gaze landed directly on Debra's face, which was twisted with fear.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Debra broke into a cold sweat, stepping back. "What do you mean? Are you saying I'm the one who leaked it?"

Byron's eyes went wide. His hands tightened around the armrests of his wheelchair. "Edward... are you saying Debra worked with the Clark Group and did this to Molly?"

Patrick gave Edward a hard look. "Edward, this is serious. Molly is your sister, and so is Debra. No matter how much you dislike her, you can't twist the truth just because she and Evelyn had a falling out before. You need proof."

Debra jumped in immediately. "Exactly! You're just trying to make Evelyn happy and get back at me on her behalf!"

Edward just stared at her. He hadn't even said anything yet, and she already felt her skin crawl.

"Only four people had access to Molly's diagnosis report — Grandpa, Dad, me, and Tiffany, who is already dead. Grandpa and Dad would never do something like this. Tiffany, on the other hand, might have made a deal with you and handed over Molly's report." Edward's tone was calm and flat, but it carried a crushing weight.

Debra felt like his hand was around her throat, squeezing the air out of her. She couldn't point the finger at Byron or Patrick, so she went on the attack. "Well, maybe it was you! At the Wilson dinner, Jessica blabbed about Evelyn not being able to have children. At the racing club, the Clark Group went after the Taylor family too. Maybe you wanted to get back at the Clark Group and didn't care about throwing your own sister under the bus to do it. It wouldn't be the first time you've pulled something like that. Everyone in high society knows what kind of person you are."

"Debra! Don't you dare speak to Edward like that!" Byron snapped. "Edward has given everything to this company over the years — all for the Wellington Group, for this family. How dare you attack his character like that? If Edward is really as bad as you say, then there isn't a decent person left in the Wellington family!"

That last remark was a clear dig at Patrick, and his face turned even darker.

"Grandpa, there's a limit to how much you can take his side!" Debra stomped her foot, scrambling to defend herself. "Yes, I made a couple of mistakes before, but Tiffany put me up to it! She was the one pulling the strings! I got played by her too! Edward can't just pin everything on me because of what happened before. I won't accept that!"

"Edward, even if you want to go after someone over Molly, go after the Clark Group first. Are you trying to tear this family apart?" Patrick glared at him, clearly siding with Debra. It wasn't that he was particularly fond of his disappointing daughter. What really got under his skin was the way Edward and Byron seemed to be working together, as if they were trying to push him out as the head of the family. He couldn't stand it.

"Eric will handle the Clark Group. As for the Wellington Group, I don't need either of you to worry about it. I'll clean house myself." Edward turned his ice-cold gaze back to Debra. "Debra, I'm asking you one last time. Did you give Molly's diagnosis report to the Clark Group?"

"No! It had nothing to do with me!" Debra glared back with bloodshot eyes, refusing to give an inch.

"Fine." Edward raised his voice. "Bart."

Bart, who had been waiting outside, walked in and gave a respectful nod.

"Bring out the gift I prepared for Debra." Edward's voice was emotionless, but his face was cold enough to send a chill down your spine.

"Yes, Mr. Wellington." Bart shot Debra a hard look, then picked up the remote from the coffee table and turned on the large TV in the living room. He also turned the volume all the way up — loud enough not just for Byron and Patrick to hear, but for all the staff hovering outside the room as well.

"Faster... faster! Come on, fuck me!" Filthy sounds and disgusting words filled the room in wave after wave.

In a cramped bathroom, Debra — completely naked — was being twisted into one shameless position after another by a male model. Their limbs tangled together as she rocked her hips and screamed with excitement.

Bart immediately looked away. He'd been forced to watch it once in private and had no desire to see it again. It was revolting. If this video ever got out, Debra would probably become a top name on adult websites. Wild and shameless — though not exactly blessed in the looks department.

Byron and Patrick couldn't believe their eyes. The woman on screen, more shameless than a stripper, was actually Debra. Debra went completely pale and stumbled backward onto the coffee table, knocking over cups and glasses that soaked her skirt. Then she slid off the table and collapsed onto the floor, shaking uncontrollably.

The man she'd slept with last night hadn't just filmed her — he'd handed the footage straight to Edward.

Could it be... that male model... was someone Edward had arranged? Sent specifically to get close to her and reel her in?

"Enough! Turn it off right now!" Patrick was furious and humiliated at being forced to watch his own daughter's private video.

Byron couldn't bring himself to look at the screen either. Shaking with rage, he pushed himself up from the wheelchair and staggered over to her, raising his arm and slapping her hard across the face. "Shameless girl! You've disgraced the entire Wellington family!"

"Ah—!" The slap sent a stinging numbness through Debra's cheek and left her ears ringing. It was loud enough that the staff outside heard it clearly. His fury needed no further explanation.

Edward raised his hand without any expression. Bart understood immediately and turned off the TV.

"Debra, I'm sure you wouldn't want your private video shared with high society and the tabloids — just like what happened with your mother before her execution."

Edward looked down at her with cold indifference, a slow, thin smile spreading across his lips. "Did you give Molly's diagnosis report to the Clark Group?"

Debra was terrified out of her mind, sweat dripping onto the floor. It was the most frightening smile she had ever seen — like something that crawled up from the depths of hell.
