Chapter 37 Let's Just Get Divorced!
"Well..." Mary was suddenly at a loss for words.
To be honest, after the rumors broke out, Mary had her own doubts too.
Rationally, she truly believed in Gabriel's character.
But emotionally...
Mainly because in today's society, all kinds of bizarre news and moral scandals emerge endlessly, constantly breaking ethical boundaries.
And Gabriel's situation with Emily was indeed hard to judge.
Seeing Mary speechless, Arabella felt even more desolate and cold inside.
Look—it wasn't just her distrust of Gabriel. Even Mary had doubts.
What hope could she have left?
"Mary, let the babies have more formula these days..." After a long silence, Arabella softly instructed.
Mary was startled. "Mrs. Sterling, what... what do you mean?"
Arabella didn't want to explain too much and made an excuse, "They're growing day by day and eating more. My breast milk can't quite keep up."
Even if she didn't divorce, adding a formula for the babies was inevitable sooner or later.
She was just moving this day forward, letting the children gradually adapt, which was better than suddenly weaning them after she left.
Thinking about the heart-wrenching crying when the babies would wean, Arabella's pain deepened.
Along with it, she even began to feel traces of hatred toward Gabriel.
Such smart, adorable children who couldn't have a happy, complete family—what a tragedy.

The Davis Villa.
When Gabriel arrived, Dominic's car was already parked in the courtyard.
Getting out and straightening his clothes, looking at the familiar estate grounds, his mood was heavier than ever before.
Walking up the front steps, before even entering the house, he could already hear arguing inside.
"Dad, Mom, I want to make my position clear in front of you both again. I don't think now is the right time for a child. Emily isn't ready to be a mother either, so I still think Emily should terminate this pregnancy. In a couple of years, when the Kingsley Group is more stable, and I can devote more time to caring for her, we can properly plan for children."
Dominic's tone was resolute. Even facing his elders, he showed no signs of backing down.
Outside the door, Gabriel heard these words, his brow furrowing deeply, his fists unconsciously clenching.
"Dominic, I've watched you grow up since you were little. You used to be mature, thoughtful, and caring—everything was wonderful about you! But now, I understand you less and less. Fine, you're ruthless with those board members at the Kingsley family—there are conflicts of interest, I get that. But how can you be equally ruthless with your own wife and the child in her womb?"
Billy's voice was filled with righteous indignation, each word landing with force.
This was followed by Emily's mother, Elara Davis's, accusation, "Emily is in her prime childbearing years right now. Having a baby at this time is the best situation for both you and the child! Don't give me this nonsense about not being prepared—that's just making excuses! Why didn't you be more careful if you weren't ready? Do you know how harmful abortion is to a young woman? What if something goes wrong and she can't have children in the future?"
Dominic didn't defend himself by saying that the accidental pregnancy was Emily's doing. He silently took the blame and said after a brief silence, "I'll find the best doctors to perform the procedure for Emily. There won't be any problems."
"I won't!" Emily's eyes were red-rimmed as she clutched tissues, her whole body trembling slightly from heartbreak and disappointment. "Dominic, I'm keeping this child no matter what. If you don't want it, I won't force you—let's just get divorced! My family can certainly afford to raise one child!"
Dominic looked at Emily, his stern expression full of helplessness. "Emily, don't throw around talk of divorce so casually. This isn't a joke."
"With all the speculation going on outside right now, if I abort this child, they'll think I'm even more guilty, that I did something wrong to betray you!"
Emily's reasoning was indeed sound.
Although the trending topics had been temporarily suppressed, internet users still didn't believe she and Gabriel were innocent.
Only by having the child could she prove her innocence and clear her name.
The atmosphere in the living room fell silent, and just then, a servant noticed Gabriel and respectfully greeted him, "Mr. Sterling."
Everyone turned around to see Gabriel walking in; their expressions varied.
Seeing Gabriel, Emily felt even more wronged and called out softly, "Gabriel..."
Gabriel, remembering his promise to his old friend, forced himself to hold back. He didn't even look her way, only politely nodded toward Billy and his wife, "Mr. Davis, Mrs. Davis."
Seeing him, Billy didn't know what to say for a moment and gestured with his hand, "Please, sit."
Gabriel walked to a single armchair and sat down.
With his arrival, the atmosphere became even more awkward.
Dominic pressed his lips together, his expression dark.
Emily's eyes were red with grievance.
After a long moment, it was the troubled Billy who spoke first, "Gabriel, you and Emily... between you two..."
Before he could finish his question, Emily defensively raised her voice, "Dad! I already told you, there's nothing between Gabriel and me. Those are all rumors online. Why are you still asking?"
Her eager reaction made Dominic even more displeased.
She was clearly protecting Gabriel.
Her kindness toward another man had already surpassed what she showed her legitimate husband.
Even if they really had nothing between them, Dominic felt like he was being cuckolded.
Gabriel realized Emily's defense of him was inappropriate and quickly stated his position seriously, "Mr. Davis, I've always regarded Emily as family. I have absolutely no inappropriate feelings for her. Those things online are indeed rumors. I've already had people track down the original poster, and this matter will be clarified soon."
"Really? You found the person?" Billy raised an eyebrow slightly, his expression easing somewhat. "Who posted it? One of your rivals?"
Gabriel replied, "No, just some minor internet influencer trying to gain traffic and attention with fabricated stories."
Dominic said angrily, "These troublemakers who live to stir up chaos should be arrested!"
"We've already reported it to the police. The authorities will issue a statement soon."
Seeing that the matter was being resolved, both Billy and his wife looked more relieved. "This incident has had a terrible impact on all three of our families. It needs to be handled quickly."
"Yes, I understand." Gabriel, knowing he was partly at fault, set aside his usual pride and arrogance.
Billy had originally called him over, intending to give him a stern lecture, but seeing his attitude, he couldn't bring himself to pursue it further.
Truth be told, they felt somewhat sorry for Gabriel, too.
After all, over the years, the Sterling family had shown nothing but loyalty and kindness to the Davis family, and Gabriel had been incredibly attentive to their daughter.
Originally, they had rather hoped Gabriel would become Emily's husband.
Who knew Emily would set her heart on Dominic and insist on marrying into the Kingsley family?
Now reality had proven that Dominic wasn't as dependable as Gabriel, but what was done was done. Apart from trying their best to support Emily's marriage, there was nothing else they could do.
Dominic was both shrewd and perceptive.
Looking at the current situation, everything was already crystal clear to him.
