Chapter 108 SISTERS
\[CASTELLAN HOUSE\]
Hazel walked in with Nikita and Winter behind her. Her eyes darted around the house with a smile on her lips. She had always dreamed of having things Ixora had. Now, she's in the house. The only difference was that the real Ixora had her parents' love.
If only they were still alive, they would have showered her with love. Their long-lost daughter is back. She will watch the same woman who used to call her poor and wretched pour affection on her. So many benefits of pretending to be Ixora.
"Gosh, I missed here so much," she said and threw herself on the couch.
Nikita's eyes fell on the pictures on the wall.
"She had a pretty good relationship with her mother." She sat beside Hazel.
"Their relationship was quite complicated. Today they are friends, tomorrow they are against each other. I know a lot because we were best friends."
"Aren't you so cruel? You stole your best friend's identity and turned her into your servant."
Winter stood behind them, staring ahead almost at nothing.
"I've never considered her my friend. We went to the same school and got really close. Besides, she tried to take my life. She ruined my face. Stealing her identity was the right thing to do." Hazel's eyes went to Winter.
"Rather than standing there listening to our conversation, you can go and get us something to eat," Hazel said in a rude tone.
Winter nodded and left to get the snack.
"All I want is to see Drexton plead for his mercy. I will destroy Drexton even if it takes my last breath," Nikita muttered cruelly.
Hazel turned to her. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask. What did Drexton do to you? You know why I hate both him and Ixora. I don't even know your reason."
Nikita looked ahead and balled her finger. Her eyes darkened.
"It started back when we were in elementary school."
"No way. You are saying you and Drexton attended the same elementary school. I didn't expect it. What then happened?"
Nikita drew in a deep breath. "Not only elementary school, but the same, high school and college too. He was the best student. Could you believe he completed both college and high school in just two years?" She chuckled to herself.
Hazel's mouth formed a wow.
"H... How's that possible?"
"I have no idea. He skipped so many classes. I met Drexton when he came to Greece to complete his education. He was fourteen when he was in elementary 4. The kids then used to mock him as the oldest, but Drexton didn't care. He looked like he was on a mission back then. We were there when he graduated from elementary 4, 5 and 6 in just a year." She paused and bit her lips.
"I saw him at first sight and I fell for him. I made it my point of duty to ask him out. And every single time, he turned me down until he left elementary school. We attended the same high school and college. Luckily for me, the high school and college were in the same school. I took it as fate wanted us to be together. He skipped so many sessions that he completed his high school in one year, the same as college. He also made his first billion while studying his final year, at the age of seventeen."
"I had known Drexton for three years, and in those three years, no single day passed that I didn't propose to Drexton. I loved him, but each time he rejected me. You want to know what he always says?"
Ixora nodded, completely invested in the story.
"One cruel word that cuts deeper than a knife. NO. He'll always say no. It became a habit, and I faced lots of embarrassment, yet I didn't give up. I thought he just wasn't interested in love, but I changed my thoughts when he came to Sicily with Ixora. I happened to be there, and I watched their public display of affection. How dare he date another girl after humiliating me for three good years? Then my plan began, and that was to see Drexton plead for mercy."/ a soothing massage. "I understand. The universe saw that we were both thirsty for revenge and brought us close. I wouldn't be standing here today if not because of you. You saved my life, and I promise to help you get your revenge."
Nikita jerked Hazel's hand off her shoulder. "What's with the emotional talk? I'm not crying," she smiled.
Hazel smiled as well and looked around the room.
"Didn't we send that foolish girl to get us something to eat?"
Immediately she said that, Winter walked in carrying a tray of food.
"What took you so long?" Nikita asked.
"I had to prepare them," Winter replied, and kept it before them.
Hazel rolled her eyes and picked up the snack.
She opened her mouth to eat when her hand stopped midair.
She glanced between Nikita and Winter, seeming to have realized something.
"How did you know the kitchen?"
Nikita sharply turned to Winter.
"We didn't tell her where the kitchen was," Hazel added.
They fixed their eyes on Winter, suspicion wearing in.
"Finding the kitchen was the major reason why I wasted time," Winter replied in the same tone.
Hazel ate the food, but noticed Nikita was lost in thought.
She nudged her arm. "What are you thinking?"
Nikita shook her head, casting Winter a glance.
"Hey, puppet, come and massage my foot," Ixora said.
Winter went and knelt in front of her. She took her feet and began massaging them.
Hazel moaned while chewing the food.
"I knew I'd find you here."
They heard a voice and looked to see someone standing before them.
She had a smile on her face as she stared at them.
Hazel furrowed her brow, wondering who she was.
Right, she's the girl they almost knocked down with their car.
Alexa glanced at Winter, who was still massaging Hazel's foot, not bothered about what was going on.
"Ixora," Alexa went and hugged her deeply. "I knew I'd one day see you. I've been looking for you."
Winter stood and stepped aside.
Hazel didn't hug her back.
She doesn't know her, nor has she ever seen the Ixora with her.
Who's she?
Nikita had the same confused expression on her face.
Alexa broke the hug. "I will answer all your questions. I'm your sister. You might not see me as your sister since Georgia had an affair with my dad. I'm Vaughn's daughter. We are sisters." She hugged her back again.
This time, Hazel wrapped her arm around her. "I can't believe this. I never thought I had a sister. I'm so happy," she said, rolling her eyes. Ixora had always been the emotional one, and this was clearly the way she'd react.
"A lot has happened in the past year. But I'm glad you are back. I kept looking for you." Alexa broke the hug and waved at Nikita.
"I'm Alexa, Ixora's sister."
"Nikita, Ixora's friend," Nikita said with an insincere smile.
Alexa's eyes went to Winter, and she noticed how she had been standing without reacting.
"Who's she?"
"Oh, that's Winter, my puppet."
Alexa's eyes flickered towards Hazel as she noticed the rudeness in her voice.
From what she heard, Ixora had a pure soul and always treated people equally.
"P-Puppet?"
Nikita elbowed her.
"I meant my servant. She's both my maid and personal bodyguard," Hazel corrected.
"Go and get my sister something to eat," Hazel told Winter.
Winter wanted to walk when her leg collided with the table.
She began falling, and her hand pushed the whole contents onto Hazel's body.
"Careful." Alexa held her before she could reach the floor. "Did you get hurt?"
Ixora sprang up, eyes wide as the food dropped from her clothes to the floor.
"Couldn't you see properly?" She raised her hand and landed a slap on Winter's cheeks.
"Ixora," Nikita quickly interfered.
"It was an accident."
"An accident! She just ruined my skin and clothes!"
Winter quickly knelt before her.
"I'm sorry. Forgive me, Miss," she apologized.
"Keep your apology to yourself." She bent and picked up the plate that had a little sauce left.
She rubbed it on Winter's face.
Winter lowered her head without saying a thing.
Hazel hissed and went inside.
Nikita's eyes followed her until she was out of sight.
She faced Alexa. "I'll be right back."
She went after Hazel.
Alexa was speechless as she helped Winter up. Why did Ixora react like that over an accident? She didn't care if Winter had gotten hurt. All she cared about was her skin.
"Get up. I will help you to the bathroom." Alexa helped her up.
"Thank you. I can do it myself." She began going in, not giving Alexa a chance to say a thing.
"Also, don't shout at Ixora. It was my fault. She owes my life and I couldn't serve her right."
