Chapter 95 Chapter 95
“Morning”
“Ahh, morning, Zaiel. I see you’re ready for work. Breakfast is ready. Meanwhile, my daughter is still asleep,” he said, shaking his head.
“Who’s sleeping?” I heard her say from behind me.
“I sat down and we had breakfast. “I’m thinking of buying a house; we can leave the apartments for us.”
She looked up at me, almost choking on her coffee.
“A what?” she asked.
“A house we are married after all, besides. Easier access; I hate going up then down. Plus more space for your dad; he mentioned planting a garden.”
She rolled her eyes. Your mother is in charge of the wedding, I’m not doing that, A house is your deal. I wanted to ask you, I want to go down to Georgetown and retrieve my jeep and also meet the others,” she said.
“Sure, you’ll start working on Monday. There’s a graphic designer and an SEO specialist. Which one?”
“Thank you. SEO? I can do that,” she said with a smile.
“Jax will take you to the Jet and bring you back. Dwayne will drive the jeep back. No arguments, Tessa.”
“Fine,” she said, making a face.
After i left, i headed straight to Rhyland Global. When I walked in, Lia was waiting.
“Mr. Rhyland, Good morning. You have a meeting with the executives at ten. You have a meeting with the PR head at 11 and a few calls.” she said, and I nodded.
“Have Mark Reynolds from marketing come up after lunch.”
“Yes, Mr. Rhyland,” she replied, laying the documents and files on the table, and left.
At nine. She texted, saying she was leaving.
Mark came up after lunch; we were sitting in my office.
“Has the SEO position been filled already?”
“No, Mr. Rhyland, there was an individual that came, but they fumbled, and they weren't quite knowledgeable,” he said.
“Good. On Monday, what I say here does not leave this office.”
“It won’t, Mr. Rhyland; you have my word,” he said seriously.
“My wife, Tessa Jansen Rhyland, will fill that position, and her identity as my wife should be kept hidden until she decides to make it public.”
“Congratulations, Mr. Rhyland. Absolutely. I’ll handle that and make sure she is comfortable.” He said.
When I got to my apartment, I showered and headed to her apartment. I leaned against the door and watched her move about the kitchen.
“You didn’t let me know you got back?”
“Sorry, I got back maybe two hours ago and asked Jax to take me to the store. Plus your dad came and took my father; he just called saying he would be home late. They've been out all day.” She said, not even turning around.
I walked over to her and hugged her. “I missed you today.”
“Really? I’ve only been gone for a few hours,” she said, and I could tell she was smiling.
“Doesn’t matter, I still missed you. You start Monday at work. Mom wants to talk to you about the wedding. Also, I’ll send you the information on the houses."
“Kai, we don't need a house,” she said, turning around to look at me.
“Yes, we do.”
Tessa
After dinner we were relaxing on the balcony, having a glass of wine.
“So what are your plans?” He asked.
“Just work and enjoy life. Zaiel Kai Rhyland, please don’t do anything that isn't necessary. I mean it.”
“Fine,” he said, kissing my shoulder.
“What happened to your sister?”
I listened as he told me what happened after I left, what his family decided, the accident, and the whole thing.
“So she doesn't remember anything?”
“Nope, that’s what the doctors said, but she isn’t acting the way she used to; some of her normal traits are missing. I have people watching her.” he said
“And Hannah?” I asked.
“Hannah, she’s well. She
She’s calmed down; she isn't so rash anymore. If anything, she’s gotten quiet.” he said.
“I passed them in the supermarket a few days ago. And she seemed just quiet the other night at dinner also. She was just quiet.”
“I know, but they aren't up to anything; at least Joe hasn't found anything yet.” He said, and I nodded.
“I’m tired,” I said softly.
“Let’s go to bed,” he said, picking me up off the sofa.
Monday morning when I walked into Rhyland Global, I got a few stares, probably because he walked in behind me. I headed straight up to the marketing department. When I asked for Mr. Reynolds, an older man walked out; he looked to be in his forties.
“Ms. Jansen, welcome to Rhyland Global; please follow me this way.” he said, leading me to his office.
This morning I had to change my outfit three times because that demented man said my pencil skirt made my ass show and my top showed too much cleavage. I had to change out of the dress because he said the dress showed my figure; I almost tossed my handbag at his head. I settled on a pair of pencil pants, a white blouse, and a pair of pumps.
I took a seat and looked at the man in front of me. “I’ll cut to the chase; I already spoke to your husband. I am the only one in this department that knows. If anyone gives you a hard time please let me know.” he said.
“Thank you, but I need to work on my own; relying on my status isn't something I aim to do. I would work somewhere else but alas, i had no choice. You dont need to be worried about me slacking off, i can assure you Mr. Reynolds i am capable and knowledgeable?"
“Well then, that is all I need. Let’s go out, and I'll introduce you to everyone in the department. I lead the department, but there is someone else under me." He is standing up.
When we walked out back to the floor, a few people looked up, and others continued doing what they were doing. “There are over three hundred employees, but this is the digital department section; I already have a cubicle prepared for you,” he said, leading me over to the cubicle.
“Morning, Mr. Reynolds, is this?” A tall, fair-skinned woman walked over to us smiling. She looked a bit older than me and her face was well done with makeup. Her brown hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and her clothes were too tight.
“Morning, Anna, This is Ms. Jansen, Tessa. Our new SEO hire. Tessa, this is Anna Burnel, this department supervisor; you will report to her.” he said,
I stretched my hand out and smiled at her. “Hello, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too.” She said it smiling, but it was a tight smile, and it never reached her eyes. I saw her eyes land on my other hand on the ring.
After Mark made the introductions, we got down to work. When I opened my phone, the first news I saw was about him, with an image.
“MR. RHYLAND WAS SPOTTED ENTERING RHYLAND GLOBAL, AND ON HIS LEFT HAND WAS A WEDDING BAND.”
