Chapter 70 Chapter 70
“Yes, one casualty.” He said, I heard that tone already. The day he killed Mark. Shit. I sighed.
“I called him; something was off. The minute I started turning the key, I just felt it. I didn't want to take a chance, so I called and told him. They were all going in through different points. Jax through the window, the garage, the back door, and the front door. I was standing on the sidewalk; it just happened. One minute I was standing there, and the next I was in the middle of the road.” I said with a sigh.
“Rob, Carlo, and the others are looking into it,” he said, his voice tight. He was still pissed. I didn't say anything else to him. Just let him stew in whatever madness and anger he was in.
A few seconds later, the door opened and Rob walked in carrying two suitcases. He put the suitcase next to the sofa. That's when I realized there was a freaking sofa in a hospital room. I looked around me properly and realized it was bigger than normal. Rob walked out; he opened the suitcase and grabbed clothes, then walked into what I believe was the bathroom. He came out about thirty minutes later in a different suit.
“Carlo is outside. Do not leave the room, or I swear I’m going to make your ass so red you’ll regret not listening to me,” he said, his voice low and cold, his eyes locked on mine. I swallowed once because I've heard that tone before too.
“Lord have mercy, Tessa, we heard the whole commotion from your neighbor's place!” Paige exclaimed, rushing forward.
“We came high-tailing it over here, and they were talking about you being in surgery!” Colt added, his face pale with concern.
“Jesus, take the wheel. Is this thing serious? What in tarnation happened?” Brooks asked, his arms crossed, jaw tight.
Paige threw her hands up in frustration. "And don't even get me started on that hard-headed security fella you got standing guard outside! He wouldn't let a soul past him.”
“He knows you now; he’ll let you in. I’ll let you know exactly what it was after I speak to the police.”
After I assured them that I was fine and the injury wasn't so serious, they left with the promise that they could visit at any time. Zaiel was still standing there, looking at them. I saw the sneaky looks Savannah and Paige gave him. He just stood looking at me.
“Zaiel, I don't care what you’re about to do, but I will handle the Rusland family myself. If they did this, then I will deal with it,” I said, knowing damn well he didn't want or wouldn't tolerate that shit. He just kept staring at me. After a few seconds he walked out.
One week, I stayed in the hospital for seven days, and I was at the end of my rope with Zaiel fucking Rhyland. This man won’t give me a damn minute alone, always hovering. Even the damn doctors and nurses were scared; they wouldn't even look at him. After the doctors cleared me. Brooks offered to let me stay at his place, Colt and Savannah too. He was here, and when he heard that, he almost growled the damn word "no."
I had just showered and was trying to get dressed but couldn't. My shoulder was still in pain. There was no infection or anything. I was struggling to put the pants on when he walked over to the door, locking it. He walked back to me and kneeled in front of me. He took the pants from me and lifted my left leg into the pants, then my right. He started pulling it up; it was halfway on my thigha when this idiotic man bit my thigh, causing a moan to slip out, and I slapped my hand to my mouth.
He didn't even budge, just continued pulling my pants up. When he was finished, he helped me put on my top, but because I was still bandaged, I couldn't even wear my own shirt; he got one of his shirts and put it on me. After he was finished, he led me out of the hospital. Everyone was staring at us.
Once in the car, I looked at him. “You do know that this will be all over, right?” I asked.
“It won't," he said, looking at his phone.
“Where the hell are you taking me, and what did you find out?”
Zaiel
I put my phone away and looked at her. I was pissed; if she had any idea of what was going through my head, she would probably try to escape. Seven days, I’ve been locked in a room with her for seven damn days, and every single second was torture. But it was my own doing; I had the doctors and nurses sign an NDA. I had him give her all the bullshit reasons as to why she had to remain in the hospital. And every day she did some shit that had me on edge; if it wasn't one of those skimpy-ass shorts and the way she bent over, it got so bad I was even fucking obsessed with the way she ate.
“Stop staring at me and answer me, Rhyland,” her voice bringing me back to reality.
“Beauty, I have only so much control.” The words came out harsher than I intended, but I saw the look in her eyes.
“I swear to God if you touch me, I’ll murder your ass,” she said through gritted teeth, which made me smirk.
When Carlo pulled into the underground parking of the hotel, she didn't wait; she got out. She was about to slam the door but stopped halfway and just stared at me. She stood by the elevator waiting; I walked up and stood beside her.
“So we’re right back where we started? An elevator, only this time you’re already mine,” I said quietly, and she turned and looked at me. I ignored her and pressed the button. The ride up was silent; she turned her back to me. Once in the room, she disappeared. I didn't want to tell her yet; I needed to keep her occupied. I heard something fall over and a muffled scream. I rushed to the bathroom and saw her on the floor, one foot in and one foot out of the pants. She looked up at me.
“Help me,” she said, staring up at me.
I bent down and picked her up, walked back into the room with her, put her on the bed, and took the pants off. I began unbuttoning her shirt, and she grabbed my hand. I leaned in, causing her to lean back, almost falling onto the bed.
“Let go, or I’ll fuck you right here, right now,” I said. She tried to push me away. I leaned into her, licking her neck, and she fucking moaned; I felt the shiver that ran through her body. I leaned in closer. “I’ll kick you,” she said with a whisper, and I pulled back slightly and looked at her.
“You wouldn't dare."
