Chapter 24: War Pt. 1

Tricia's POV

We ran all the way to the pack hospital with this baby in my arms. The whole way there Justin was letting out soft growl trying not to scare the poor thing. The baby doesn't look to be more than a few months old. There is definitely something different about this child, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

"Eric!" Justin, more like Tanner, boomed through the hospital.

We see Eric running straight for us.

"We need a full medical evaluation, tox screening everything." I told him with every ounce of strength I could muster up.

Justin looked at me with an angry expression on his face, but the second his eyes met mine it faltered. He was no longer angry, he was worried for the baby. You can see it on his face clear as day.

It was a few hours before we were aloud to see the baby and was made aware of her condition. Yes, the baby is a girl and I think we are going to name her Amelia, Amelia Renee Richards.

She is completely healthy. It seems as though she has a stronger aura than the others we had encountered on anyone other than me. We get to take home Amelia in a few hours since it doesn't look like she had been out there very long at all. It seems as though our wolves knew that she was being abandoned at our orphanage.

We will announce that we will be adopting her after the battle. Until then however we have guards around her. Her guards are made up of 6 wolves, 3 witches, and 3 vampires, all of which volunteered to do the job when we met with the top worriers from each species.

Now we are preparing for the fight at Dawn.

"So, we all know what positions we are going to be in correct?" I asked.

"Yes, my Lady." All the group leaders answered.

We have a plan of attack, the archers are going to be in the trees, I will be standing in front of the gate awaiting her arrival with my aunt and some of our best hand to hand combat fighters. All groups have about 50 members per group. We also have several groups making rings around the territory, and it wasn't hard with all the new members becoming apart of our pack. My people have trained hard and I know that we all got this.

Just when I am about to address everyone, I get a mind-link that they are close, and we should get in position.

"Okay you guy it's time get your groups and get in position. May the moon goddess be with you all today. And remember that if ANY of the opposing warriors stand down or surrender, they are to be cuffed and taken to the holding cells to await further investigation." I made the announcement and dismissed them.

I looked at my group and told them to head out so that way we could meet them at the gate.

We all continuously scanned the area for the coming enemy.

"Something wicked this way comes." Said Ashley as the enemy came out from the tree line.

"NO!" I heard a scream and I am assuming it came from Kathrine.

"What's the matter little sister, don't like our decorations?" Ashley said in reference to Jacoby's head being on top of one of the posts that go to our fence.

"You bitch! I was gonna make yours and your mate's death as quick as possible, now I am going to make you suffer." She snarled at me making me laugh.

"We shall see." I said and sent my silent signal to my archers.

Kathrine was shocked to say the least that her men were all being taken down. She ran straight for me screaming.

Ashley pushed me out of the way and landed a few good hits to her pretty face. She looked much like my mother. The only difference that I can see is in her nose and chin. They are both a tad pointy. When Ashley got up Kathrine sent her flying into a rock. And while Ashley looks like she's gone mad she just starts laughing.

"Is that the best you've got. Pathetic, you have gotten weaker than the last time we fought. Even with the dark magic you still aren't enough." She taunted.

I used that as my chance to attack. I sent a fire ball crashing into the side when suddenly I feel a hand on the back of my head. I was thrown backwards while a wolf gets on top of me. However, this wolf has the same terrifying characteristics as the rouge we caught a few weeks ago.

This wolf has me pined until I see a shadow jump over and tackles the wolf on top of me. I instantly recognize this wolf as tanner and take pride in my mate fighting with me side by side.

Getting up I take the chance of attacking once again and somehow, I stole her sight. After realizing that I did this I removed the air from her lungs and watched as she dropped gasping for air. I unsheathed my sword that I had attached just after leaving Amelia with her guards.

Walking towards Katherine I realized that she also has some of our men fighting for her. Which means this needs to end quickly and I need to figure out if they were under some sort of enchantment.

"Release them!" I growled in her face when I got to her.

Her eyes rolled into the back of her head when I said that, and my men instantly growled at the sight of their alpha being attacked by several of the wolves that came in a second wave with Kathrine. They joined the fight. I didn't know I had a wolf trying to sneak up behind me until one of my coven members tore its jugular out of its body. Sending a curt nod, they grinned and headed off to help other members of our family.

I was about to take Kathrine's head off with my sword when I was tackled once again but this time it was a vampire. I looked into his eyes and smirked when he realized what he has done. I may not have taken my throne, but I damn sure have my title as Queen.

"Come child." I said.

I sunk my fangs into him to see a bit of his memory since this Blue eyed Brunette man looked sick and couldn't have been any more than 15 years old. I was right. He had been kidnapped from his home.

I look at him with sad eyes and say "Make your way to the castle. I will let them know that I sent you so you can get into the bunker. Do you see that black wolf?"

"Yes, my Queen." He replies.

"Follow him, he will lead the way." I told him with a smile.

He nodded and turned in Tanners direction.

"Tanner, take the blonde-haired blue-eyed vampire to the Castle and make sure he is in the bunker." I sent though the mind link.

"As you wish." He replied.

When I turned around I gasp at the sight before me. There lying in the dirt is my father's Beta. He has a broken neck and has returned to his human form with blood leaking from his ears and eyes.

That's it! I think to myself. Time to put an end to this war.
