Chapter 74
Nate POV
"Is she going to be fine, doc?" I asked the doctor worriedly as I sat in his office, and he smiled.
"Yes, she will. She was just stressed out, so she will definitely be fine. It's not something to worry about. There was no need to bring her to the hospital in the first place, but I guess you were freaked out," He teased me, and I smiled at him.
"Thank you, doc. I will take my leave now," I said to him and left his office, heading to the ward where she was. I stopped in front of the ward and took a deep breath, pushing the door open and walking in. She was standing close to the window and staring out of it keenly like there was something interesting that got her attention. I couldn't help the smile that laced up my lips as I stared at her, admiring everything about her.
"You're here?" She finally turned to face me, a warm smile laced up her beautiful space, her pair of blue eyes piercing into mine and enchanting me. How could one woman be this beautiful?
"Hey," I finally walked up to her. Although she was a bit sick, but she was still the ever beautiful woman. Averagely tall, with long black and curly hair, long eyelashes, a chiseled face, sharp cheekbones, and finally a sexy body that could make any man look at her twice.
"Are you done with the doctor already?" She asked, and I nodded my head.
"Yes, I am. He said you were just stressed out," I explained to her, and she rolled her eyes, going to sit on the bed.
"I told you that there was no need to bring me to the hospital, but you insisted. Ugh! What a waste," She shook her head and sighed.
I met Celine in the first three months I moved in to live in Paris. The spark I felt that day was something I could never get off my head even after so many months. Celine charmed me with everything about her, so I could say that it was love at first sight, and I'm glad to have found my way into her heart. We started dating about two months now, and although we only see each other a few times in a week since we are both busy at work, our love remained strong.
"You passed out, so you weren't expecting me to have left you like that, right?" I scoffed.
"Passed out? When did I pass out? I only complained of having a slight headache..."
"You would've passed out if I had not brought you here to get treated. I am taking care of my girlfriend, so that shouldn't be a problem, yeah?" I covered the distance between us, leaning forward and staring into her eyes.
"Yeah... Yeah. You win. But you would've been in the office now," She insisted.
"Should we go for a walk? We can spend the day together. What do you think? Do you want to come over to my place and rest for some time?" I asked her, and her face brightened.
"That's going to be a good idea. I took a few days off from work, so we can spend time together. Are you going to stay with me at home too?" She pouted her lips, the cutest thing she always does that got my heart beating, and it just fluttered again.
"If you want me to spend it with you, then your wish is my command," I winked at her, and she chuckled softly.
An hour passed before we finally left the hospital and I drove to the restaurant.
"Babe, we could've just gone to the mall and picked some dress for you, you know? This could be us going on a date," I uttered, but she rolled her eyes, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"This is fine. We are not going out on a date," She stated, and I nodded my head.

At the restaurant...
"You should eat this," I picked up the egg that was served to me, and dropped it on her plate since she loves eggs so much.
"Aww! That's so sweet of you, baby," She whined, and I scoffed.
"You're welcome," I almost blushed, but I tried not to.
"So, where should we go after here? Beach, park, cafe, or..."
"Park... That'll be fine," She cuts me off, and I smiled.
"Park it is then. We'll go there as soon as we are done eating," I replied to her, and she nodded.
My phone beeped and a text from Lilian popped on the screen.
'Did something serious happen over there? I'm worried about you'
"Who was that?" Celine asked me, and I raised my gaze to her.
"It's Lilian. I haven't been able to talk to her since yesterday, so I guess she's been worried about me," I replied to her.
"Oh... You should call and explain to her that you're fine," She uttered, but I dropped the phone.
"I'm going to call her later, don't worry," I smiled at her, and she nodded. Celine literally knew everything about me, down to my friendship with Lilian. I mean, I love her, so I shouldn't hide things from her, right? There was no need to, anyway.
After we left the restaurant, I drove to the Park where we spent some time together, and finally left for my apartment. We soon got home, and since we already had dinner outside, we just watched a movie together until we fell asleep.
I had no idea how long I'd been asleep, but the sound of my ringing phone pulled me out of my deep slumber, causing me to force my eyes opened and that was when the realization dawned on me that it was late in the morning, and when I checked the time, it was 9:30am. How did I wake up so late?
I picked up the phone and checked to see that it was Lilian, so I swiped the answer button.
"Hey, Lily. What's up?" I groaned tiredly, sitting up on the bed and running my fingers through my hair.
"Finally! Did something happen, Nate? Why have you not been answering my calls and texts?" Her worried voice sounded through the phone, and I yawned.
"I'm sorry. I've been a bit busy lately. I should've called back. I'm sorry," I apologized to her.
"It's fine. I hope you're good. Are you just waking up?" She asked, and I nodded my head as if she was there with me.
"Yeah... I was so tired that I couldn't wake up early. Are you at the company already?" I asked her as if she was not supposed to be there by now. I'm the stupid one here, obviously.
"Yes, I am. Why are you not here yet?" She asked, and I finally left the bed to go to the bathroom.
"I don't think I'll make it to the company today. I will just call my manager to handle things over there..."
"Are you sure you're fine? Do you want me to come over?" She asked.
"Yeah, it's fine if you want to come over after work," I replied to her, and heard her sigh.
"Alright. I will be there as soon as I leave office later. Take care of yourself and get some rest while you're at home," She said before the call ended.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and a warm smile subconsciously crept up my face as the thought of Celine flashed through my mind. You know that feeling you get when you think about the one that has your heart and you feel your heart flutter? I felt that way now. I have always felt like that since I met her, and it hasn't changed up until now.
'You know Lilian has feelings for you, right?' As Ren's words replayed in my head, I scoffed unbelievably. I mean, why the heck would he even make that up? How could he come up with the notion that Lilian is in love with me? How is that even possible? We've been friends for close to a year now and there is no single time I ever noticed she had such feelings for me.
"He's just spurting nonsense, so don't think about him," My subconscious mind said to me, and I pushed the thoughts away.
Celine was not in the room when I walked back inside, so I left to go check her downstairs, and there she was in the kitchen, making breakfast.
"Hey! Good morning," I hugged her from behind, resting my head on her shoulder while wrapping my arms around her waist. It felt so good.
"Good morning, baby," She said in the sexiest voice, and even though I didn't see her face, I knew she had the sweetest smile on her face.
"Did you sleep well?" I asked her, and she nodded her head.
"Yes. What about you?" She reciprocated the question.
"Yeah, I did. Why are you in the kitchen? The maid could take care of the breakfast, you know? You didn't have to stress yourself," I stated, but she scoffed.
"I'm not planning for a maid to make food for you when we finally get married, so I better start learning it now," Those words made my heart flutter. It felt like I was on top of the world to know that she was thinking of getting married to me. What more could I ask for?
I was about to say something when my phone started to ring, and a strange number was displayed on the screen.
"Excuse me, babe. I will take this outside," I excused myself and left to answer the call because of an explosion in the kitchen.
"Let's talk. I'm sending the address to you," I quickly recognized the voice to be Ren's, but the call disconnected before I could confirm if he was really the one. My phone beeped almost immediately and a text from him popped on the screen, showing full details about him, and now I finally confirmed that it was really him.
"What does he want?" I asked myself confusingly...
