After having spent all day trying out the suite's included amenities, I sat down on the living room sofa to realize that at least in Dante's villa I had a huge garden to go out to and a pool that was available to me at all hours.
I felt my heart compress as I felt lonely again, sadness washing over me like the rain outside.
I cried into a pillow, letting out what I felt and in an impulse I lifted the coffee table, on which there were decorations that were surely expensive, but I didn't care.
The guards outside entered the suite, guns in their hands; realizing there was no one there but me, they reported the situation and what I had done.
Later in the night, in the darkness, my eyes finally gave way to exhaustion and I fell asleep.
However, the warmth of another person woke me up at once. I was such a light sleeper, that any movement could bring me from wherever I was.
I opened my eyes and felt Dante's body odor embrace me, reassuring me that it was him.
"What are you doing here?
"You told me you weren't coming back to the villa, but no one is stopping me from coming to stay here with you," he whispered in my ear, sending a clear signal to my hormones that were trying to control themselves inside me.
"You said it was dangerous," I said and tensed my jaw.
"You have danger on your back," he nuzzled the sensitive areas of my neck and shoulders with the tip of his nose.
My breathing began to increase in speed, as did my heartbeat. My body became a time bomb that only he knew how to stop.
"Dante.
"Just like the first time, your heart beats so hard I can feel it," he said, as he moved his hand up my abdomen until it brushed against my chest, underneath my shirt, "It drives me crazy every part of your body, everything about you fascinates me.
"Dante, stop it, you can't....
"Can't I what, touch you?" he questioned, his lips on top of my skin, "No matter what you do, your body wants me as much as I do," my back contracted at the touch of his lips kissing my neck, at the same time he moved his fingers down to my underwear.
In how many fingers slipped under my clothes, I jerked up from the bed.
"I can't do this, I'm sorry," I objected nervously and moved away from the bed just enough to catch my breath.
I leaned back against a piece of furniture, squeezing the wood with my fingers, to which he black-haired man got out of bed with a dark look on his face. However, that was not what was intimidating me, but his bare torso.
My system kicked in when I saw the casual state Dante was in, with no elegance in his attire whatsoever, but that wasn't all.
Simple black sweatpants covered his lower body, where a bulge in his crotch insisted on sticking out and making me more nervous.
It wasn't going to be the first time for the two of us, but they were two different situations; one a little more romantic, as opposed to the dominant and controlling one he was putting on me.
The broad shoulders of his body, with which he was able to cover mine, were wrapped in tattoos that I had not defined before and old scars surrounded his abdomen, giving me to understand that this was the experience he had living in that mafia world.
I couldn't have the slightest idea how much that man, only 28 years old, would have had to see and experience to become an Italian Mafia boss; to have so many people at his disposal and enemies that I couldn't count on the fingers of my hand.
The level he had surpassed mine by thousands and that drove me crazy, although I was still in denial.
He had every reason in his favor to be as desired by women as Lexi or the stranger still in his villa who hadn't had a shred of decency in approaching him.
I couldn't be sure what kind of women he liked, but I wasn't getting anywhere near her, even though she was very beautiful and with a confidence I couldn't even mention.
Her black eyes, so cold, domineering and calculating, were sublime to my presence, but at that moment they were looking at me as if I had made the worst mistake of my life.
"It's obvious what we both feel, but even doing everything you want, you refuse me," he commented, after several seconds of pacing like an angry predator, circling his next victim.
"That's not how things work," I responded without thinking and didn't even have two seconds to react, when his body invaded my personal space.
"Aren't they, or is there something you haven't told me?" he questioned sternly, watching me insistently, to the point where I couldn't stand without trembling.
"What?
"You and Mauro? Is it true that you're still together?" he asked out of the blue, as if he had woven incorrect knots. I opened my eyes in surprise at his comment and promptly denied.
"No, no, we're not together.
"Then why did you get nervous all of a sudden?" he slid his hand down my hips, slowly moving up the side of my body until he touched my skin with his warm fingers.
"You play dirty," I sentenced in annoyance.
He stepped forward to me all at once, placing an arm on either side of my head, forcing me to stare at him; his nose nuzzled mine from the closeness, at the same time I could feel his breath fall on my lips.
""Check it out," he commanded, ending the last few inches that separated us. I swallowed saliva, my heart racing and my body pressure higher than usual, "Check what I think is a lie.
"You know it," I whispered nervously.
"No, I don't. What are you going to do to change my mind?
My whole being was invaded by his body, his gaze and I could feel his arousal pressing against my abdomen.
I was cornered by the alpha, as his only prey and I was sure that I would not get out of there unscathed; in a closed environment and away from everyone.
However, I could not deny the fire that was unleashed in my lower abdomen at his provocations and I could see in his eyes that he did not intend to let me escape without making him change his mind.
I sat down on the piece of furniture and spread my legs to him, giving him a clear signal of what I intended to do.
That dark gaze lingered on the emptiness and desire replaced his grimaces.
He said I was his and he had to prove it.
