Chapter 33 033
Chapter 33 033
Claire's pov
Austin eyes were so dark, it made cold shiver run down my spine, I took a few steps about to walk away, to retire to my room, but then Austin was there, his hand clamped around my arm like a vice.
And as he grabbed me, he held me so rough that I wince in pain, trying to free away from him.
"You!" The word came out like poison. "You witch!!"
His fist connected with my face before I could process what was happening. Pain exploded across my cheek and I went down hard, my knees shudder on the floor and Blood filled my mouth where I had bitten my tongue.
"Austin, wait….." Shark had slammed the door open, he was shocked at the scene before him and was trying to get Austin away from me.
"Wait for what?" Austin hauled me up by my hair and I scream as a result of the pain. "The Alpha is going to die! There is nothing we can do about it and it is all her fault! She brought this curse into our home!"
His fist came again, this time, it landed on my eyes And again at my cheek. I tried to curl into myself, tried to protect my head, but his rage gave him strength I could not fight against.
He was a wolf, not just any wolf but a furious wolf and right now I was certain that there was nothing that could stop him.
"Please," I choked out. "Please, I did not……"
"Liar!" He cut me off, but what was I even trying to explain to a man like him.
Another blow landed on my stomach, and at the sound, I felt like my ribs was broken, why was he using so much strength on a human. "You are a spy! A traitor! And when he is declared dead, I will burn you alive myself!"
“Austin that is enough, you are going to kill her at this point!” Shark spoke again, trying to make him see reason, but Austin remained adamant.
“Right now, I think that is all she deserves. The Alpha was right when we first met you, to someone like you should never live, what were you trying to gain telling him about the macphone when you know it's the same people you are working for?”
I tried to warn Lucien, but he remained stubborn and yet somehow I am forced to take all the blame on a brutal way.
“Speak!” He yelled, his eyes pure red like he would explode any moment from now.
I opened my mouth, trying to speak but the only thing that came out was blood, splattering from my mouth.
“Guards!” He roared, the sound of his voice made the hallway trembled and as I looked down the stairs, I could see Marcy, Tracy and some other maids watching me.
“Take her away to the cell, make sure she never comes out until I give the command!”
“Yes Gamma!” They spoke in unison and walk towards where I was cringing in the floor.
Their Hands forcefully grabbed me, They dragged me away as I struggled weakly, my body screaming in protest. Austin kept yelling behind us but I could not make out the words anymore over the roaring in my ears.
Down stairs. Through hallways. The stone scraped against my legs as they pulled me along.
One of the prison guards hurriedly open the door to one of the cells soon as he saw them dragging me.
They threw me into a cell and the door clanged shut with such finality that it felt like a death knell. Their footsteps faded away with not a single hint of sympathy.
What crime had I committed, just when I thought that my life was okay here.
I lay there on the cold ground, tasting blood and salt from my tears. Everything hurt, My face, My ribs and My heart most of all.
Lucien was dying. And they thought I was responsible. I thought about my mother, why was I thinking about her in such a state, why was I missing her only but now.
Tickle of tears rolled down my cheek, I cried, knowing that was the only thing I could do even though it only made the pain more intense.
I wasn't crying because of myself but because of Lucien, the same man I hate with passion, right now I was praying with everything in me hoping that he survives this because at this point, my life is linked to his.
But suddenly, My body started to shake, I was certain it was Not as a result of the cold or the pain but from something deeper inside of me.
I knew something was happening inside eof me, I couldn't comprehend what it was and it was building like a pressure down on my chest and moved to my stomach, The trembling got worse, violent, until I could not control it anymore.
Then suddenly, everything stopped and went blank.
When I opened my eyes again, I was not in the cell anymore.
I was standing in the garden. The one I had seen my first day here and I immediately recalled how much I admired the garden that day.
The garden was surrounded with so many plants, several.i could not recognize with the strange plant. Moonlight bathed everything in silver, making the leaves seem to glow.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AFRAID, YOU ARE HERE FOR A REASON."
The voice. That same voice from before spoke, but this time, it didn't seem like it was in my head, rather it sounded like it was in this cell with me.
I turned around, trying to catch a glimpse of whatever was speaking, but I could only see my shadow in the cell.
"What—" My own voice sounded far away. "What is this?" Even while I ask, I was trembling in fear, my feet felt cold.
“Why do you seat here and cry when you can get whatever you want?”
“What? I don't understand”
“Do you not know the kind of powers inside of you, do you not understand how much strength reside inside of you, with just your hands, you can shake the world or twist into whatever you chose”
“Can….. can…. Can I heal Alpha Lucien?” I asked but even my demanded sounded so impossible.
"Listen carefully. What you seek grows where shadows dance with light. The silver leaf with purple veins. Crush it with moonstone tears and the root of the bleeding heart. Brew it with medium heat and it will draw out the poison that kills the unkillable."
Images flashed through my mind. A plant with silver leaves traced with purple. A white stone that sparkled. A red root shaped like an anatomical heart. The exact measurements. The precise method.
"You have three nights. After that, no magic in this world can save him."
The garden blurred as Darkness rushed in.
Just then, I jerked upright, gasping for air as I realized that I was back to the cell.
I was on my feet somehow, my body still aching but my mind crystal clear about what had happened
I had three nights to save Lucien's life, I was certain about what to do but the problem was now how to get away from here.
