Apologize to me
Apologize to me
I sat frozen, my mind racing as his words echoed in my ears. Was he serious? Would he actually kill someone just to prove a point—or worse, to feed me? A part of me wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it all, but the cold reality was that Alpha Kade wasn’t one to make empty threats.
I pulled the blanket tighter around me, my body trembling from more than just hunger. His dominance, his sheer cruelty, clung to me like a suffocating shadow. Yet, beneath it all, there was a fire—a part of me that refused to break no matter how hard he tried to bend me.
I forced myself to stand, leaning against the wall for support as I moved to the window. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the packhouse grounds. My wolf stirred within me, restless and angry, urging me to fight back, to run, to do something other than sit and wait for him to come back.
But how? The room was locked, and I was weak. My injuries, though healing, had drained me, and I wasn’t sure I could survive another escape attempt, not without a plan.
The sound of footsteps outside the door made my heart leap into my throat. I pressed my back against the wall, my breath shallow as the door creaked open. But it wasn’t Kade who entered.
It was a young man, his dark eyes scanning the room before they landed on me. He was lean, with sharp features and a quiet intensity that made me uneasy.
“Alpha sent me,” he said, his voice clipped. He carried a tray of food, the smell of roasted meat making my stomach churn with both hunger and unease. “Eat.”
I didn’t move, my eyes narrowing as I studied him. “Who are you?”
He placed the tray on the small table by the bed and straightened. “Darius. Brother of Beta Henry.” He was trembling as he spoke. He probably saw what I did to Henry.
“I don’t want his food,” I said, my voice low and soft. I didn't want to threaten him.
Darius sighed, his expression unreadable. “You need to eat if you want to survive. Whatever fight you’re planning, you won’t win it starving.”
“I don’t want to survive if it means staying here,” I snapped. “Tell your Alpha that.”
His jaw tightened, but he didn’t argue. Instead, he turned and headed for the door. “Suit yourself. But you should know, Alpha Kade doesn’t make idle threats. If he said he’d kill for you, he will. You might want to think about what that means.”
With that, he left, locking the door behind him.
I stared at the meat, my stomach twisting with hunger and revulsion.
But I walked back to the bed , ignoring it.
I knew it, it was someone's meat. Kade surely did it.
I clutched the blanket tighter around me, my breathing uneven as the room seemed to close in. My wolf snarled within me, her fury matching my own. She wanted to tear through the walls, to rip Kade apart piece by piece. But we were caged, weakened, and the taste of helplessness was bitter on my tongue.
The silence stretched, oppressive and cold. My gaze drifted back to the tray, the rich scent of roasted meat still wafting through the air. My stomach ached, a cruel reminder of my physical weakness. But I couldn’t touch it. I wouldn’t.
Instead, I forced myself to sleep.
It's all I was now left with .
Sleep came reluctantly, creeping in through the haze of hunger and anger. My dreams were fractured, a mess of memories and half-formed thoughts that twisted into nightmares. Kade's piercing eyes haunted me, his voice a dark whisper in the back of my mind, reminding me of the chains I couldn’t see but felt in every fiber of my being.
When I woke, the room was darker than before, the moonlight replaced by the faint glow of dawn creeping through the cracks in the curtains. The tray of food sat untouched where Darius had left it, the smell now stale. My wolf stirred groggily, her anger dimmed but not extinguished.
"We can’t stay like this", she growled in my mind. "You’re stronger than this. We’re stronger than this".
I closed my eyes, leaning my head back against the wall. She was right. I couldn’t waste away in this room, letting Kade strip away every piece of me until there was nothing left. But what choice did I have? The locks were impenetrable, the guards outside loyal to him. Even if I managed to escape, he’d find me. He will just like he did yesterday.
Still, I couldn’t shake the fire burning in my chest, the stubborn refusal to let him win. I needed a plan, a real plan.
Just as l was lost in my reverie , l heard the door creak open but I didn't make a move. I wasn’t ready to face whoever he or she was.
"Shit, the smell", I heard a scream and I i'mmediately knew who it was.
That same bitch. Harriet!.
"She still fucking rots", Another one said. This time she decided to come with her friends just to humiliate me.
I didn't mind about them until I felt her hands grip my hair.
"Kade has pitied on you and brought you in this room but still you have refused to shower. You a girl for heaven's sake", She gripped the locks of my hair and forced me to look at her.
"Go tell that to your bitch mother", I said calmly but as soon as I did, I i'mmediately felt a harsh slap land hotly on my cheek.
Did she just slap me?
"How dare you talk to me like that?", She snarled and I lost it. She started it just like last time. Alpha kade was on her side then he punished but I was again now ready to teach this bitch a lesson.
The sting of her slap was nothing compared to the boiling rage that surged through me. My wolf roared inside, her fury a blazing fire that demanded I strike back. Harriet's smug expression only fueled my resolve. She thought I was weak, broken. But she didn't know the depth of my strength-or my rage.
I didn't hesitate. In one swift motion, I grabbed her wrist, wrenching it away from me with enough force to make her cry out. Her friends stepped back, startled, their confidence faltering as they saw the fire in my eyes.
"How dare I?" I hissed, my voice low and venomous. "You don't get to lay a hand on me and walk away unscathed."
Before Harriet could react, I twisted her arm behind her back, shoving her toward the wall. She let out a strangled yelp, her bravado crumbling as she realized she had underestimated me.
"Let her go!" one of her friends shouted, but I turned my glare on her, and she froze, fear flashing across her face. They didn't learn a lesson last time.
Harriet squirmed in my grip, but I tightened my hold, leaning in close so only she could hear me. "You think you can humiliate me? Hurt me? You're nothing but a coward hiding behind Kade's shadow. Pathetic."
Her struggles became more frantic, but I didn't relent. I wanted her to feel the helplessness she had tried to force on me. To know that I wasn't someone she could toy with.
"Apologize," I demanded, my voice cold as ice.
Harriet snarled, her pride still clinging to life. "Never," she spat.
"Wrong answer," I said, slamming her hand against the wall hard enough to make her cry out again. "Try again."
Her friends were frozen, too scared to intervene, and the silence in the room was deafening. Harriet's defiance wavered, her breathing ragged.
"Your beloved Alpha brought me some meat, help me eat it please", She shook her head when her eyes fall on the rotten meat but I didn't even have mercy.
With all the last strength and fury I had in my body, I walked her towards the tray and started to push her head towards the meat that was rotting.
I was tired of everything, I lost everything precious in my life and I didn't want anyone to humiliate me.
One of her friends tried to nail my cheeks with her long claws but It didn't take long before my anger took the best of me, my nails elongated and went for her neck.
"Don't ever humiliate me", I hissed to Harriet before gripping her hair and pulled it from the rotten meat.
"Yes... yes... I wont......",
Blood was all over her face and her friend screamed more loudly when she saw her.
"Since you all came to my room unvited... ",
"Noooo.....", The bitch's friend cried when I brought the piece of rotten meat to her mouth. Forcefully I pushed it in her mouth.
"You going to pay for it", They cried.
"Ohh! am scared", I replied sarcastically before I burst out and laughed. "Let me go and report myself to your beloved Alpha", I added. They all didn’t say anything. They were probably scared of me, thinking that I was a maniac.
"You need to shower, you all fucking stink", I winked at them then matched out of the room.
