Chapter 31
Rebecca was dreaming, but like everyone else who dreamt, she did not realize it.
She was dancing in the arms of a man to the sound of music in a dark room where a lone spotlight shone down on them. Her head was comfortably resting against his chest as his broad arms wrapped protectively around her.
Together, they swayed to the music, hands entwined in each other’s. It was a wonderful feeling, being in the arms of this man. Rebecca looked up to smile at him, expecting to see William Silverman.
Except that it wasn’t. The man holding her was John Grant.
He leaned down and kissed her forehead.

William opened his eyes and blinked a little, trying to adjust to the darkened room. Beside him, Rebecca mumbled something in her sleep and turned around to wiggle closer to him, nestling her face under his chin and unconsciously resting a leg against his thigh.
As his eyes adjusted to the semi-darkened room, he looked at her face and traced a finger along her eyebrow before giving her a peck on the cheek. Her eyes fluttered a little at his touch before she sank back into deep slumber again. But William was fully awake now, thinking back to what she had asked in the TV room a few hours before.
“Did you send me any flowers?” she had asked.
His brows knit together. She had not noticed, but he had tensed upon hearing her question earlier, not liking what he heard. He did not ask, but he had a feeling that they were roses, white roses.
He would have to move her to the penthouse then, she would be safer here.
He nuzzled at her hair, taking in a whiff of her shampoo, it was peppermint. The smell invigorated him, he was fully awake now, but Rebecca was not. She stirred slightly, moving her leg in her sleep and it brushed against his manhood.
William had on only a robe and nothing else and when her bare leg brushed against his manhood, it awakened his dragon.
Shit! Rebecca!
She drove him wild, and he didn’t even know why. He had never met anyone like her before. She was the first woman to ever sleepover at his place, the other women he bedded were sent off immediately after he had his fill. Rebecca was different. She consumed his thoughts and he wanted all of her for himself, body, mind, and soul.
He had wanted for her to be fully rested before he took her again, but seeing her sleeping so provocatively next to him like this? He had no intention of waiting till dawn now.
Damnit!
Slowly, he peeled back her robe, exposing her breasts. They were exquisitely beautiful, full, and firm as her chest gently heaved up and down. He reached out and cupped one of her breasts, caressing them, arousing her nipples. They sprang to life at his touch and hardened under his fingers. Her eyes fluttered again before she fell back to sleep.
I’ll wake you up this time, he thought as his hand trailed from her breast, down to her navel before finally settling at her groin. Then slowly but surely, he moved his hand up and down her groin, stimulating her.
She groaned in her sleep and rolled away from him.
You’re not going anywhere.
Spooning her from behind, he kissed her on the neck, biting and sucking at her soft skin as he lifted her thigh, draping her leg over his and sliding his leg between hers. She moaned in her sleep.
She was extremely receptive, even in her sleep she was ready for him. He could feel it against her thigh, hot and wet, just the way he liked it. He slid his fingers between her fold and dove deep into her cavern, finally waking her from her slumber.

John was at the station, going through the CCTV footages again. He frowned, running both hands through his hair.
This doesn’t make sense, he thought as his mouth pressed into a hard line.
Madam Martina had been adamant that her late friend, Sofia the housekeeper had bumped into William Silverman as he came out of Irana Long’s room. But a triple check with the CCTV showed that William Silverman did not step out of his room until right about eight that night.
“What if he crawled through the ventilation duct?” Sam threw an idea, pacing behind John.
John shook his head, exasperated. Why would he go through all that trouble just to come out of Irana’s room for all to see? No, that cannot be.
It was Madam Martina’s word against the CCTV. They couldn’t issue a warrant based on that.
He sighed, clenching his fist,” Any word from Jean on Becca’s whereabouts?”
Sam paused a little before answering, “She’s with Silverman.”
John groaned inwardly, “What about the roses?”
“No fingerprints on them…but they’re the same species,” Sam replied, referring to both the roses that Rebecca and Jolene Knowles had received.
“Then chances are it’s from the same person,” John said, tapping his fingers on his keyboard absentmindedly. Everything seemed to point to William Silverman, but something just did not add up.
But who is it if it’s not William Silverman? he wondered. He did not trust William Silverman, but his sixth sense told him he was not the one they were looking for.
He rubbed at his chin, “Sam, get me the Silverman family registry. Check for any lookalikes or reports on anyone who’s tried to impersonate William Silverman before. I’m going to find Rebecca.”
