The bed was unbelievably warm this morning. Her body buzzed with satisfaction as Kendall yawned. She stretched like a cat, arms above her head and toes pointed, as a lazy smile curved her lips.

With a happy sigh, she settled down and then slowly blinked her eyes open.
She was met with a pair of grey eyes, watching her curiously.

Kendall blinked, her smile vanishing as she stared. With a gasp, she shot upright, clutching the covers to her bare chest.
Lucien was slower and calmer when he sat up beside her, still staring at her.

The room sparkled with the morning light; his blinds had been lifted, and the sun shone through.
Her green eyes were bright with the light reflecting in them, filled with a complicated tangle of emotions that he could tell she was struggling to unravel. Her lips were full, still plump from their lovemaking. Her body, skin glistening, was decorated by traces of his lips and tongue. Lucien didn’t think he’d ever seen Kendall look so beautiful.

“Good morning,” he said hoarsely, half expecting her to scream and slap him.

She swallowed hard, watching him like he was an apparition. “Good… morning…”

Sighing, he leaned closer, looking into her eyes. “How’re you feeling?”

Kendall gawked at him. She still wasn’t sure this was happening. Had her fantasies turned into lucid dreaming, or had she really had sex with Lucien Sinclair? repeatedly. In one night.
And now, he was sitting in bed with her, staring at her like she was worth a thousand moons.

“Do you… regret it?” She needed to verify. “Do you hate me?”

Lucien tilted his head at her. The anxiousness in her eyes nearly made him smile. The girl had literally captured his soul last night. She’d enslaved him, and she didn’t even know it.
“Do I regret it?” he asked. She anxiously awaited his answer.

“What part of it?” Lucien asked, inching closer.

She didn’t move away, but she tensed, not knowing what to expect.

“The part where you turned my name… into a chanted prayer? Or the part where I obeyed your every command like an addicted worshipper at the altar?”

Her breath caught, her pulse rattling at the intensity of his words.

“Or maybe the part where I tasted every inch of your body with my tongue?” he continued. “Ah. It wasn’t… every inch. Was it?”

His gaze dropped to her lap, and Kendall felt her sex give a responding clench. Her throat went dry, and she swallowed hard.
His gaze returned to hers, and a faint smile brushed briefly over his face. “But that’ll come with time. I’ll earn it as a reward.”

Her mouth slowly dropped open. Her ears were deceiving her. They had to be.
Without warning, Lucien leaned in, stopping inches before her lips.
“May I?”

She nodded, and he immediately pressed his lips to hers, his lips grinding seductively on hers.

With a groan, he pulled away. “That was good. Thank you.”

She blinked. “W-w… welcome…”

“Come.” He turned away, rolling out of bed. “I’ve made you breakfast.”

And he had, indeed. Kendall blinked at the nicely cut sandwiches on her plate and the cup of steaming coffee beside it.

Eyes glimmering, she looked up at him as he approached the table, suddenly choking up with gratitude. She was so glad he hadn’t gotten mad at her. If he’d regretted it all, if he’d hated her for desiring him, Kendall didn’t know how she’d deal with it.

Lucien saw the teary look and paused, blinking. “Is… there something wrong?”

She shook her head. “Thank you so much for making me breakfast.”

He stared at her for a beat and then, biting his lip, sat down across her. She needed to stop looking at him like that, or breakfast wouldn’t be the only thing he’d be making her swallow.
“Eat, Kendall, sweetheart.”

She nodded, reaching for her food. She paused, looking at him. “So… if I have to clarify—”

“No, I don’t regret last night,” he answered, fighting a smile. “I don’t hate you. Hell, I’m only glad you don’t hate me.”

“Hate you? Why would I hate you? I’m the one who was being clingy and made you feel things that you’ve told me you hate feeling.”

He scoffed. “Oh, there is nothing I hated about what you made me feel last night…”

She blinked, shivering at the intense stare he was giving her.
“And, besides…” he continued. “I started it, you know that. I know what my touch does to you, and… I took advantage of that.”

She pursed her lips, blushing furiously. “Well. Apology a-accepted...”

“I’m not apologizing for anything.”

“Oh.”

“I’m not sorry,” he clarified, just in case she didn’t get it. “I know that this, what we’re doing, is dangerous. But I’m not living in denial anymore, Kendall. I tried to fight it. I failed. I want you. In fact… I think it’s more than just wanting.”

Their gazes met, and her eyes slightly widened. “What?”

“Eat your food. You’ll need your strength later.”

Her eyes widened even more. “Huh?” He couldn’t mean that he had plans to take her back to bed?! She’d just taken a shower, and her lady bits were thoroughly exhausted. She wasn’t in pain, but there was a dull soreness about her core.

She probably needed to rest. But, shamefully, her sex clenched in excitement at the idea of being claimed by him once more.

He didn’t answer her, focusing on his tablet screen. When her gaze went to the tablet, Kendall suddenly thought of work.
With a gasp, she looked at her untouched breakfast. Coffee.

Lucien knew she only drank coffee after midday. How late had she woken up?!
She shot to her feet.

“Relax,” he murmured. “It’s only one in the afternoon.”

Kendall nearly passed out. “One o’clock?! Crap. Where’s my phone? There was a meeting I set for—”

“I got everything rescheduled,” he calmly said. “I need you to rest.” His phone rang.

“But I need—”

“Sit down, sweetheart. Just eat.”

She would’ve replied, but he answered his call. With a sigh, she sat back down.
“Yes, Sabrina?” Lucien said.

Kendall tensed, looking at him.

He met her gaze. “I did… Maybe you should ask your creep of a friend why I took her, instead of asking me. You don’t need to know where she is. She’s safe.” He pressed the phone to his chest. “Why aren’t you eating?”

Blinking, Kendall quickly picked up a sandwich and took a bite.
Satisfied, he returned to the call. “Sabrina, I’m busy. I’ll call you later. Kendall is not missing, I know where she is… No, I won’t tell you. Goodbye, Sabrina.”

Kendall heard Sabrina yell, “Wait!”

Lucien sighed. “What?”

He listened for a while and then frowned. “What? Eliott Cross came to the house?!”

A sandwich froze in her mouth as Kendall tensed.

“Why the hell would you let him in?” Lucien growled. “What did he want?”

“He said his daughter’s your secretary,” Sabrina yelled. "That he has all your classified data!"

Lucien rolled his eyes. “Tell him I know.”

“Dad,” Sabrina said. “You don’t understand. He said Kendall is his daughter. Kendall!!”
