Part Sixty Five

I slowly opened my eyes to the morning sunlight streaming through the windows of Hades' bedroom. My head felt heavy and my body was sluggish, but I was filled with a warm sense of happiness as I saw Hades sitting at my bedside, looking at me with concern.

"Hades," I said softly, trying to sit up. He gently helped me, adjusting the pillows behind me.

"How are you feeling, my love?" he asked, taking my hand in his.

"I'm tired, but happy to see you," I replied, smiling at him.

"I'm happy to see you too," he said, leaning down to kiss my forehead.

As I looked around the room, I saw that my mother and childhood friends were all gathered around my bed, looking at me with concern. My mother's expression was a mix of worry and disapproval, but I didn't let it dampen my spirits.

"Hi, Mom," I said, trying to sit up again. She came over to me and hugged me gently.

"I'm so glad you're alright," she said, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I'm fine, Mom," I said, patting her hand. "I'm just tired."

"We were so worried about you," said Zoe, one of my childhood friends. "But Hades has been taking such good care of you."

"Yes, he has," I agreed, looking at Hades with gratitude.

"I'm just glad I could be here for you," he said, his eyes filled with emotion.

"Thank you, Hades," I said, reaching up to touch his face. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Persephone," he said, leaning down to kiss me again.

As we hugged, I saw my mother give Hades a disapproving look, but I didn't let it ruin the moment. I was just grateful to be alive and surrounded by my loved ones.

"So we heard you killed a titan" Narcissa said, sitting next to me with a sly look. I laughed, "Yes, I guess I did."

"It seems like you were destined for more than our little lemon groves." Zoe said, holding my hand. I looked to my mother, who suddenly turned sad. She was headed for the door. I pushed the sheets off of me and went after her, my friends and Hades yelling at me to rest.

"Mom!" I shouted, stopping her in the hall. "W-where are you going?" I asked her.

"I'm going home." she said plainly, turning and leaving again. I held out my hand and grabbed her.

"B-but my wedding, please stay." I said to her, my voice breaking. Demeter turned around to look at me.

Demeter hesitated for a moment before finally relenting. "I will attend your wedding, on one condition," she said. "You must have it at our home on earth."

Persephone couldn't contain her joy as she broke down into tears. "Nothing would make me happier," she said, hugging her mother tightly.

As Hades and her friends, who had overheard their conversation, ran into the room and hugged her, Persephone knew that everything was going to be alright.

I woke up to the sound of my childhood friends giggling and chatting excitedly. As I opened my eyes, I saw them standing around my bed, all dressed in beautiful white dresses.

"Good morning, bride!" Sophie exclaimed, her face beaming with happiness.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, still feeling a little dazed from the previous night's events. My mother, Demeter, stood at the foot of the bed, her eyes misty with tears.

"I can't believe my little girl is getting married today," she said, her voice quivering with emotion.

I reached out and took her hand, squeezing it tightly. "I'm so happy you're here, Mom," I said.

She leaned down and kissed my forehead. "I wouldn't have missed this for the world," she said.

As the morning passed, my friends bustled around me, helping me to get ready for the big event. They braided my hair into a intricate updo, applied a light dusting of makeup, and helped me into my beautiful white wedding dress.

Finally, it was time for the ceremony. I took a deep breath and stepped out of the house, my heart racing with excitement and nerves.

The ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens of my childhood home, surrounded by towering Grecian columns and fragrant flowers. All of the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology were in attendance, except for Athena, who had declined the invitation.

As I walked down the aisle, I saw Hades waiting for me at the altar, a look of love and adoration on his face. My heart swelled with happiness as I reached his side and we exchanged vows, promising to love and care for each other for all eternity.

As the ceremony came to a close and we were pronounced husband and wife, the guests erupted into cheers and applause. Hades lifted me off my feet and spun me around, kissing me deeply as the sun set behind us.

------------

After dancing, spinning, crying. Hades and I finally had a chance to sit down at their reception, holding hands as we watched our guests dance and celebrate ourunion.

"Do you remember the last time we were at this outdoor plaza?" Hades asked me, bringing my hand up to his lips and kissing it softly.

I thought for a moment, a faint smile gracing my lips. "How could I forget. It was my birthday party. My mother threw it for me here."

Hades nodded. "I remember. I couldn't keep my eyes off you the entire night. That's when I knew I was in love with you."

I laughed, "I knew you were staring at me!"

Hades chuckled. "I know. It's just who I am, I suppose. But with you, everything feels different. You bring out a side of me that I never knew existed."

I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Hades' lips. "I love you, Hades. I'm so glad we're together."

Hades smiled and wrapped his arms around me, pulling her close. "I love you too, my beautiful queen. And I can't wait to spend the rest of eternity by your side."
