Part Fifty

The next morning I woke up early.

Hades hadn’t been able to see me the night before, he was busy all night preparing for the war.

I changed into my training clothes alone and went to the training arena.

One of the ways Andre had trained me was with the modern technology simulation that the knights used.

I pressed the button and began the rhythmic movements, shooting arrows and dodging attacks.

The simulation was very realistic, with life size soldiers attacking you and throwing things at you. I used arrows to shoot all around me and pulled out my knife to stab and evaporate attackers who came too close.

After the simulation was done, I selected a new one, pushing myself hard.

I was breathing heavily after the second workout and panted as I composed myself for the next.

“You’ve improved greatly.” Someone said from the stands.

The sun had only just begun to rise but I knew it was him.

“Someone told me there's a war or something coming.” I said, Hades laughed.

“Oh right, that's right.” He said with a smile, walking down the steps.

“You’re up early.” I said to him,

“Kore I’m a god, sleep is just a choice.” He said to me,

“Will you fight me?” I asked him, he laughed to himself.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” He said to me,

“Which makes it a great idea.” I said to him,

“Fine.” He said, removing his shirt to reveal his huge muscles.

“Oh that’s not fair.” I said, distracted by his body. Hades took a fighting stance.

“And your tight clothes aren’t?” He asked me, making his first attempt to grab at me. I dodged him and took a few steps back.

“Are we using magic?” I asked him, he answered by dissolving and reappearing behind me.

“Of course we are,” he whispered in my ear. I used my elbow to hit him hard in the stomach.

“Ow.” He said, I used the opportunity to distance myself again from him.

Hades was a very skillful fighter. He didn’t follow any rules. One second he tripped me, and another he threw bright blue shots of power from on top of the arena.

If only I could transport too, I thought to myself.

The one thing I could do was protect myself.

I used a shield around me to protect myself from his power and also shoot it back at him.

I watched as he became frustrated, as he couldn’t seem to transport his body inside of my shield.

Hades ripped the ground from underneath my feet, causing me to trip and lose my protective bubble.

But just as quickly as that began, I shot up into the sky. I looked down at my feet and screamed.

I could FUCKING FLY?!

I was so distracted by my newfound power that one of Hades blue bolts of power hit me straight in the stomach.

It was cold as ice.

I quickly healed myself and flew away from him.

Hades and I spent the next half hour fighting in the arena. He and I were both very competitive people, and very, very stubborn.

We completely destroyed the arena chasing one another around, and knocked down at least twenty trees.

In the forest I was able to capture him at one point, but his strong powers broke out of my vines.

Finally he caught me, forcing me down to the ground and a final surrender from me as we both laughed like maniacs.

“I am so proud of you,” He said. I lay underneath him, his large body was powerfully holding me down, yet he gently pushed a strand of hair from my face.

I noticed that when Hades used his powers his eyes went from ice blue to nearly white. His eternal dark powers were fascinating to me.

“So proud of you.” He repeated as I found myself lost in his eyes.

We stood up and dusted ourselves off.

“Are you ready for tonight?” He asked me as we walked slowly back to the castle.

“I am Hades.” I said to him shyly.

“You’re my finance. My future queen. You don’t have to lift a finger you don’t want to.” Hades said to me.

“Well…” I said to him mischievously.

“Yes?” He asked, a grin forming on his lips as he jumped and happily danced around me.

“I want to at least…see what occurs down there.” I said to him,

“My curious Kore, always so fascinating. There is not a single thing about you I don’t find remarkable.” He said to me, Making me blush, as always.

“Aidenous, sorry, Hades, I am curious.” I said to him, nervously playing with my fingers.

“Why did you want someone so…inexperienced?” I asked him. Hades plucked a flower and presented it to me.

“You’re the most experienced person I know.” He said to me, I raised my eyebrow.

“All my life, I’ve wanted passion, love, and most importantly life. You are the most experienced goddess of life I have ever met, the most intriguing woman I have ever known.” Hades said to me.

I giggled.

“And now I get to see you and your…death sex dungeon.” I said to him, Hades laughed.

“There’s plenty of life in that dungeon love” He smirked at me. I reached out and pushed him playfully.

“Sure there is.” I said back, rolling my eyes.

“Did you just roll your eyes at me?” he asked, grabbing me and beginning to tickle me.

We walked and laughed together all the way back to the castle.

Andre and the other soldiers were standing by the training arena waiting for me.

“You're late.” Andre said, I stopped smiling.

“Sorry sir.” I said to him, there were moments over the last few weeks of training that Andre had scared me more than Hades himself.

Hades kissed my hand goodbye.

“She’s exhausted, Andre, make sure she pushes herself more.” He winked at me.

“Thanks for that.” I said to him sarcastically and he bowed with a smile.

“Okay lovebird, physical training today.” Andre said.

“Run five miles?” I asked him.

“How about you fly five miles?” He said.

“As you wish sir.” I said, very aware of the soldiers who perked up at the word “fly.”

After one of the most intense training sessions I had ever had, I walked into the castle a hot exhausted mess.

At the castle's dining hall, I saw my least favorite person accompanied by some of the ladies of the court.

“Did the war start?” Minthe asked from the table with the women, some of them laughed.

“Only in Hades’s bedroom.” I winked at her. Some of the ladies now laughed at her. Minthe’s face reddened.

I drank not one, not two, but four glasses of sweet ambrosia to quench my thirst and refill my power. I filled a plate and sat down to eat.

Suddenly someone threw their arms around me, I grabbed the body and flipped it over my shoulder, only to see it was my friend, Nyx.

“Nyx, I’m so sorry!” I said, helping her stand back up. We sat back down at my table together.

Nyx laughed.

“It’s okay Kore.” She said, brushing herself off.
