When they arrived, Chris parked and waited for Seth on the sidewalk. Seth smiled and joined him, grabbing Chris’s hand as they made their way to his front door.
Seth’s phone pinged and he slid it out of his pocket, hoping it was Damon. It was, and he’d sent an address.
Damon: OMG this guy is hot. I think I met my soulmate.
Seth: Be safe. Text when you are home.
Damon: K.
“Your friend?”
“Yeah. Damon. We try to keep each other safe when we go out. He texted me the address where he ended up.” Seth rolled his eyes and chuckled. “He already thinks he’s in love.”
“What’s funny about that?”
He looked at Chris, a little unnerved at the intensity in his voice. “Nothing—”
“You don’t believe in love at first sight?” Chris stopped in the middle of the sidewalk.
Seth trembled under Chris’s powerful gaze. “No, that’s not it. My friend falls in and out of love easily. He meets someone, falls hard, they break it off after a couple of days, he cries, goes out and meets another man.” He shrugged. “It’s a cycle. He thinks he wants true love, but really he’s not ready. He enjoys the hook-ups too much. And the fun part when you first meet someone. Damon’s not readyfor a real relationship.”
Chris pulled him close, then cupped his face. “But you are?” he asked, his breath hot against Seth’s skin.
Seth’s chest tightened and a shiver ran through him. He could see everything in Chris’s eyes. The hurt. The pain. The fear. And the love. He inhaled sharply. The love.
The corners of his mouth curved up as Seth realized for the first time he really understood that saying,“I can read you like a book.” Chris’s eyes shone with everything—and the love came through the brightest.
With tears on his lashes, he nodded, silently communicating to Chris that he felt the same. It was too early to really say it, but Seth knew without a doubt that he felt it.
Chris softly kissed his lips. Just a sweet kiss, then he was pulling Seth to his apartment, so quickly he could barely keep up.
“Whoa!”
Chris chuckled and slowed, smiling back at him. “Sorry. I was kind of afraid I would lose control out here, so I want to get you inside as soon as possible.”
Seth cocked his head. “What makes you think I’m going to let you lose control?”
Chris smirked and unlocked the front door, gesturing for Seth to go first. The place was dark, but Chrishit the light switch, then pushed Seth against the entryway wall as he kicked the door closed.
Chris’s mouth claimed his, and there was nothing sweet about this kiss. Chris dominated him, took control. Seth moaned as their tongues danced together.
Chris ground his body against Seth’s, then grabbed his wrists. He raised Seth’s arms, pushed them against the wall above his head until he could hold both wrists with one hand. With his free hand, he stroked Seth’s left side.
“You’re so sexy,” he murmured as he nibbled at Seth’s neck.
Seth wriggled at the little orbs of pleasure that zipped across his skin. “You’re the one that’s sexy. You are so hot, sometimes I can’t even think! And when you go all alpha male on me like this…it’s just fucking hot.”
“I need you Seth,” Chris admitted, his voice husky. “Need to be inside of you.”
“That’s what I want too. I’m aching to feel you.”
Chris’s head dropped to Seth’s shoulder. “Oh, fuck…when you talk like that. God, baby.” He let Seth’s arms fall.
Desire surged through Seth. “You like knowing how badly I want you to fill me? How much I want to feel you open me up? Slide into me until your cock is deep inside?” His voice shook with need as he nuzzled his neck.
Chris growled and pulled him tighter, palming Seth’s ass. Seth yelped as Chris lifted him, and he wrapped his legs around Chris’s waist and held on tightly. He moved his hands into Chris’s hair and they looked at each other, their lips millimeters apart.
“I can’t go through what I did again,” Chris said, his voice cracking. “I can’t lose you again, baby.”
Seth cupped his cheek with one hand and brushed his thumb against the stubble. “I’m so sorry, Chris. Iwas crushed when I thought you wanted another man…and I handled it by acting like a child.”
“Promise me, please, that we’ll always be honest and talk things through. When you wouldn’t talk with me, it broke me. I’ve never felt so lost in my life.”
Seth’s heart ached at seeing the hurt he’d caused Chris, and he kissed him. “I promise.”
Chris swallowed hard and kissed him back. “I don’t want anyone else. Only you.”
Seth smiled. “Show me. Make me yours.”
Chris’s mouth came down again, crushing Seth’s as they kissed, their lips sliding together and igniting something in Seth that made him dizzy. Suddenly, Chris started moving through the dark apartment, effortlessly carrying Seth.
