So... You'll help me?
Aria's POV
"Luca let my mother go. He wanted her to really feel the pain of slowly dying. Watching as her blood left her body... Taking her sprint with her."
A sob broke out from my lips.
A picture of that image appeared in my head.
The woman struggling to walk... Crawling even just so she could get the safety.
"Good Samaritans found her." Noel continued. From the tone of his voice, I could tell that this topic was something really sentimental to him.
I had opened a wound that didn't heal. A wound that was only bandaged, and that too not properly... It was bandaged with anger and a thirst for revenge.
"She was taken to a hospital. They thought she got better after a while since her injuries healed up, so they returned her home. To England."
"Luca had already gotten to my father, the actual person who offended him... although indirectly." Noel chuckled softly.
The laughter was filled with so much pain.
I could hear it in his voice.
He was reminiscing about everything that happened.
"My mother was fine for the next few days, and then the next thing I heard, my mother was dead. She killed herself because she could not bear the emotional and mental trauma Luca inflicted on her."
Emotional and mental trauma...
My eyes went round.
That was the same thing I had felt was being done to me.
Emotional and mental trauma.
The woman eventually killed herself.
Does Luca want me to kill myself? The thought made me tremble in fright.
"Aria I just..." Noel spoke again. "I don't want what happened to my mother to happen to you. That's why I'm so concerned."
His words didn't really register in my head. All I could think about was Noel and how he escaped.
If he could, maybe he wasn't lost for her just yet.
"How... How did you escape?"
Noel's tone sounded surprised, but he answered me. "I ran away from the country before Luca could get to me. Aria this happened to me 4 years ago, and now it's happening again... To you."
His words arouse a dreadful feeling in my heart.
Noel was right.
Luca was indeed using me as a rebound.
"Luca is a monster." I breathed.
"No Aria, he's worse than that. Even if you escape like I did... He would just do this to someone else. Aria we have to stop him."
Noel was right.
Luca was worse than a monster.
My father was bad... But, compared to the picture of Luca in my head at the moment, he was a saint.
I couldn't escape knowing fully well that Luca was just going to do this to another person.
Their blood would be on Luca's head as well as it was on mine.
"You're right." I nodded to myself, a look of resentment passing through my eyes as a picture of Luca appeared in my head. "He has to be stopped."
"So... You'll help me?" Noel asked slowly.
I nodded before realizing that he couldn't see me. " Yes." I voiced out.
"I'm going to help you take down that bastard, and the only thing I want in return is the feeling of satisfaction that Luca..." I exhaled. "That Luca wouldn't get away with this."
"Yes!" Noel was elated.
I couldn't help but also smile.
"I promise you Aria, you won't regret this."
"What do you want me to do?"
"The exact same thing you've been doing, only that to be a bit faster. I want you to get into heart... I don't think it's possible, but you aren't dead yet, so maybe there is a chance."
It took all the self-restraint I had at the moment to stop myself from bursting out into a mocking fit of laughter.
"His heart? Really? Are you serious Noel?" I snorted. "Luca isn't the type of person I can just get into my heart. He doesn't even see me like that, I don't want him to see me like that."
"I know." Noel agreed. "I would tell you to make him see you like that, but... If you feel like it would be too much, then that's fine. What I just want is information."
"Luca's movement, his weakness, everything. I want to know what drives him and how I can put out the fire inside him."
Sincerely, I felt a shift in Noel's tone, the more he spoke... The more he sounded like Gaston... Manuel's friend... A crazy person.
But then could I blame him? His mother was taken by this man.
She killed herself because of this man.
It was only right that he wanted revenge, even though it was in the most deranged method possible.
"I'll try my best to get that information for you. And you, in return, would make sure that Luca doesn't kill me if, at all, he finds out about any and everything we are planning against him."
Yes... I was moved.
Yes, I wanted Luca got be locked up forever after seeing what he has done.
And yes, I was willing to forfeit all my plans of escape; whether they would be successful or not, just to help him with his revenge plan which was going to work at all means... But...
I also didn't want to die.
What if Luca figured out everything before the plan was over? I was the closest person to him.
He would have me killed before he could die!
I wanted protection.
"I promise Aria, no harm will come to you," Noel swore.
Fine.
"I'm going to hold your word for it," I replied himz a sigh left my lips. "I'm really for what happened to your mother."
I expected Noel to at least be sympathetic too, but his next words were cruel. "I'm tired of people's constant sympathies. If you really are sorry, then help me get him back. Help me hurt him the way he has done to me, to you."
Then he ended the call.
I stared at my phone and shook my head.
That guy had a way of making me regret helping him.
But I was already determined this time. His words were not going to sway me. Plus, it wasn't entirely his fault... I brought up his mother.
A woman who was dead because of the man I was currently living with... and thinking about.
I was thinking about.
Not anymore.
There is no way I was letting myself think of Luca in that manner ever again.
Never!
I dropped the phone back on the bed and rested my head on it.
Luca...
You gave me six months...
The countdown has just begun.
