Chapter 15 Alpha Blessing & Attack

Chapter 15 Alpha Blessing & Attack
Ronan POV

The Goddess stepped through her. Her voice layered over Nyssa’s, ancient and unstoppable:

“KNEEL, ROWAN VEYRAN. KNEEL AND RECEIVE YOUR ALPHA BLESSING.”

Rowan collapsed instantly, his tears falling onto the dirt.

“Goddess,” he whispered, trembling. “I...I kneel.”

Nyssa...the Goddess...touched his shoulders. The ground trembled. Power exploded outward in a shockwave of silver. Rowan groaned, and his body stretched taller, his muscles thickened, and his aura flared like a newborn star.

When the light faded, Rowan stood there three inches taller, his chest broader, with power rolling off him in waves.

I stared. “Holy fuck.”

Rowan looked down at his trembling hands. “I...I’m Alpha.”

Nyssa blinked, coming back to herself. “Yes. The Goddess has chosen you.”

Rowan wiped tears with the back of his fist. “Thank you. Both of you.”

I clapped him on the back. “Damn right. Now I’m not the only sexy one.”

Nyssa smacked my arm. Rowan laughed, hard, bright, and free. Moonfang had just gained another Alpha.

And the world shifted again.

Rowan POV

The world felt too small. Too bright. Too loud. Too full.

Alpha power burned under my skin like molten silver trying to escape, and every breath came out as a half-growl because Dorin, my wolf, would not shut up.

"WE ARE ALPHA. WE ARE ALPHA NOW. WE CAN FIND A MATE. FIND HER. FIND HER. FIND HER."

“Dorin, please,” I muttered. “Give me five minutes to process this.”

"FIVE MINUTES IS TOO LONG," he barked. "MATE IS OUT THERE. I CAN SMELL POSSIBILITY."

“There is no possibility,” I hissed under my breath. “There are five hundred alpha males coming. You want me to walk into that with a mate bond flaring loose like a firecracker?”

"YES."

“Absolutely not.”

I barely realized Ronan was talking to me until he snapped his fingers in front of my face.

“Hey. Big guy. Stop arguing with your wolf for a second.”

I blinked, trying to focus. “I’m...this is..Ronan, this is a LOT.”

Ronan laughed, slinging an arm across my shoulders as we walked with Nyssa up the gravel path. “Brother, I felt your power blast through this entire forest. Every wolf in a fifty-mile radius knows you just upgraded.”

“That isn’t helping,” I muttered.

Nyssa glanced back with a soft, knowing smile. “How’s Dorin?”

I swallowed. “Loud. Emotional. Completely feral.”

Nyssa snorted. “Typical wolf.”

“That’s rich, coming from Vianna,” I shot back.

Nyssa’s eyes flashed green. “Vianna is refined.”

Inside my skull, Dorin howled laughter.

"NO SHE IS NOT. SHE WANTED TO DRAG RONAN BEHIND A TREE DURING DINNER."

I choked. Nyssa’s cheeks warmed. “Dorin better keep his muzzle shut.”

“He’s not very good at that.”

"I’M ALPHA. I SAY WHAT I WANT."

“Stop talking,” I hissed.

"NEVER."

Ronan cackled like a hyena. “I love Dorin already.”

I shoved him lightly. “Don’t encourage him.”

“I’m absolutely encouraging him.”

Nyssa cleared her throat. Business returned to her eyes, sharp and focused. “Rowan. Ronan. Walk with me.”

We moved in step beside her. Even newly minted Alpha blood didn’t cancel the instinct to fall slightly behind and follow her lead. If anything, it strengthened it. She radiated command so naturally my wolf bowed without question.

Nyssa stopped at the edge of the drive, and her eyes narrowed at the distant tree line.

“More will come,” she said quietly. “I can feel them moving. Alphas. Lunas. Rogues. Our numbers will swell before sunrise.”

My chest tightened with a new, protective instinct.
My pack. My Alpha. My future. Dorin paced inside me, humming with purpose.

Nyssa continued, crisp and sure. “When the barracks is finished, you’ll send scouts to every group camped along the borders.”

Ronan nodded. “On it.”

“Once the scouts confirm their positions,” Nyssa added, “have soldiers escort them here. Not close...just to the gates. They can report to Greta if they want to work, or to you”...her eyes cut to me...“if they want to train.”

My heart kicked hard. Me. Training them. As Alpha.

Dorin puffed out his chest. "OF COURSE. WE ARE STRONG. TEACH THEM HOW TO FIGHT OR KILL THEM."

“No killing,” I muttered.

Ronan elbowed me. “He’s intense. I like him.”

Nyssa smirked but continued. “Also, I want the hunting grounds sealed. Every ward activated. No alpha, no soldier, no curious idiot gets within a mile until the trials begin.”

“Done,” Ronan said.

I saluted instinctively. “Yes, Alpha.”

Nyssa gave me a soft look, it was proud, warm, and steady. “Rowan… you’re not my Beta anymore. You don’t have to bow.”

My stomach twisted.

“I know,” I said quietly. “But I want to.”

She smiled, brushing her fingers briefly across my shoulder. “Good.”

Dorin melted into a puddle of Alpha-wolf satisfaction.

"WE LOVE HER. NOT ROMANTICALLY. BUT WE WOULD DIE FOR HER."

“I know,” I whispered.

We reached the packhouse doors. Nyssa paused, turning to face us in the flickering lanternlight.

“Ronan, gather your construction crew. Rowan, gather scouts. Split into teams. Cover every mile.”

“Yes, Luna,” Ronan said.

“Yes, Alpha,” I echoed.

Nyssa’s smile grew. “And tomorrow, Rowan… you begin your training as an Alpha.”

A shiver ran through me.

Ronan slapped my back hard enough to make me stumble. “Welcome to the club, big guy!”

I glared halfheartedly. “I’ve been Alpha for five minutes, Ronan. We do not have a club.”

“We have a club now,” Ronan insisted. “It’s me, you, and eventually the other mates Nyssa collects.”

Nyssa pinched the bridge of her nose. “Goddess help me.”

Ronan grinned. “She will.”

Nyssa sighed. “Go. Both of you.”

We jogged down the steps and across the courtyard. I felt my power flare again, those new Alpha instincts sharpening everything around me.

The night air. The tension in the trees. Wolves gathering at the border. The pull of destiny rolling toward Moonfang like a coming storm.

Ronan slapped my shoulder again. “Rowan. You good?”

I exhaled shakily. “Ask me tomorrow.”

His grin widened. “Nah. You’re good now.”

Dorin howled agreement.

"WE ARE ALPHA. WE ARE STRONG. WE WILL FIND OUR MATE."

“Eventually,” I muttered.

"SOON."

“Stop manifesting things.”

"NEVER."

I groaned, shoving Ronan lightly as we split paths, he heading to the builders, me toward the scout post.

“Let’s go make this place a fortress,” I said.

Ronan waved as he walked. “Damn right!”

Dorin hummed proudly. And for the first time in my life? I felt ready.

Ready to lead. Ready to train. Ready to fight.

Ready for whatever storm the Goddess was dragging to our door.
\~~~~~

Nyssa POV

The night air carried the faint sweetness of pine and dew as I walked the gravel path back toward the packhouse.

Ronan and Rowan had already split off with their wolves, shouting orders, rallying scouts, and preparing for the tidal wave of alphas on their way. They moved with purpose. I moved with pride.

Moonfang’s heartbeat felt alive again, pulsing through the earth under my feet. For the first time in five years, the land didn’t feel hollow. It felt… ready.

I brushed a hand along my neck, letting Vianna’s content purr fill my mind. "Ronan," she hummed, "is going to be impossible now."

“Let him be,” I whispered. “He earned it.”

Her laugh warmed me. "He earned something else too."

Heat flashed through me, the memories of last night tangling with the cool breeze. I pressed my thighs together to stave off the shiver.

“I am not thinking about that right now,” I hissed.

"You are always thinking about that," she corrected smugly.

I rolled my eyes and kept walking, crossing the last stretch of gravel before the courtyard opened, and
Vianna’s voice ripped through me like a blade.

"DANGER! BEHIND YOU NOW! MOVE, NYSSA!"

My body reacted before my mind caught up. I spun hard, and gravel sprayed under my boots...

A man lunged out of the shadows, with a cloth in his hand, and the sharp chemical sting of chloroform slamming into my senses. He aimed for my mouth.

I dropped low, kicked his knee sideways, and rolled across the ground.

“Get away from me!” I screamed, already blasting the pack bond open.

"DANGER! HELP. NOW."

Instantly, power snapped through the link like lightning. Dozens of responses. Snarls.Growls. Ronan’s voice roaring through the bond.

"NYSSA, HOLD ON, I’M COMING BABY!"

Heavy footsteps thundered behind me, two more men joining the first, crashing through brush, snarling curses.

I bolted into a sprint.

Branches slapped my arms. Gravel spit under my shoes. Vianna surged forward in my chest, urging me faster.

"RUN! LEFT! NO...RIGHT!"

I pivoted sharply and one of the men slammed into a tree where I had been a second before. The second kept pace, reaching for me...Hands brushed my hair....
I ducked, twisted his wrist, and heard a crack.

He howled.

Their shouts tangled behind me, and their footsteps pounded like war drums.

“Stop her!”

“Grab her!”

“Don’t let the bitch shift!”

I cut left around the training field just as something massive tore through the treeline ahead. My wolves.

Half the pack...dozens of them...charged from the forest like a tidal wave of fur, fangs, and fury. Gray and brown and white pelts gleamed under the moonlight, eyes burning silver with pack rage.

At the head of them was Ronan, already mid-shift, black fur pouring over his form, and his eyes glowing with murder.

“NYSSA!” he roared through the bond.

I stumbled to a halt as the wolves collided with the attackers. Three men, only three, were surrounded in an instant by fifty wolves. Growls shook the earth. Teeth snapped. The men froze, like trapped, terrified, cornered animals amid predators that wanted blood.

And then I smelled it. Whiskey. Sweat. Rage. And the sour stench of failure.

Cassian.

He stepped out from behind the others, breathing hard, his clothes torn as though he had run for miles. His face twisted when he saw me.

“You fucking whore,” he spat, rattling like a snake.

“You think this is over? You think I’m done with you?”

My heart didn’t skip. It didn’t stutter. It didn’t break.
It hardened.

“You attacked me on my land,” I said coldly. “That was your final mistake.”

Cassian sneered. “You banished me. You took my pack, my birthright, my...”

“Your pack?” I stepped forward, Vianna baring her fangs inside me. “You lost that long before I arrived.”

He lunged...and Ronan slammed him to the ground so hard the air whooshed out of his lungs.

Rowan appeared beside him, panting from his sprint, shifting back to human as he pressed a knee into Cassian’s spine.

“Try it again,” Rowan growled, “and I’ll rip your damn throat out.”

The other two attackers struggled, but ten wolves pinned each of them. Teeth hovered inches from bare, trembling throats.

Cassian spat blood onto the dirt. “Cowards! You bend to her? You let a woman command you? You’re all nothing!”

Ronan shifted halfway, just enough for human speech, wolf strength.

“You’re real chatty for someone who pissed himself last week,” he said casually.

I choked on a laugh.

Cassian’s face turned purple. “I did NOT!!”

“Cassian Holt,” I said, cutting across his sputtering.

“You attacked your Alpha. And the next time you challenge me, the punishment will be death.”

His eyes narrowed. “I am not fucking afraid of you bitch.”

Vianna rose in my chest like a tide. I leaned down slowly until we were eye to eye.

“You should be.”

A tremor ran through him.

Ronan stood, dusting off his hands, his eyes never leaving me. “What do you want to do with him, Nyssa?”

I looked at my wolves. My pack. My family now. And I knew what needed to be done.

“Bind him,” I said. “He will be held until morning. Then he leaves these lands forever.”

Cassian bared his teeth. “You cannot make me.”

I stepped forward, and the world shifted. The air thickened. The moon trembled. And pack power poured through every wolf present like a surge of wildfire. I placed my hand on Cassian’s forehead.

“You are finished.”
