Chapter 29 1/2

Jennifer

I woke up, again, even when I didn't talk to. I wanted to be dead. I wanted to kill myself to avoid all of the misery I was going through. This baby in my womb, it... it was possible for him to be in here under such circumstances. He raped me and I got knocked. This could be the worst thing someone could do to me. How would I accept this baby when I would know it came from a sexual assault? How would I be proud of him to be my son?

I just can't. I wasn't that tough enough to swallow the hard pill. It wasn't my deal.

I opened my eyes and the sunlight blinded me, someone drew them because as far as I could remember, they were shut. I let out a grunt as I turned to my left, my eyes caught a glimpse of that cursed file on the nightstand. My heart filled in the void. It was something like a certificate of being someone's official whore—Luciano's whore.

The tears fell without permission. I wiped it out and twisted my hair in a bun. As I was about to leave for the bathroom, the knock on the room's door gained my attention. I questioned, "Yes?"

The door opened, exposing Natasha—Luciano's blood-sister—on the view. She managed to pass a wide innocent smirk and I stood there, not sure whether I should kick her out or be happy of her presence because I liked her until I remembered she was my rapist's sister.

"Hello, honey, how are you? All rise and shine for the day?" Natasha came up all cheered up. I wasn't in the mood to talk straight but I had to pretend; for the sake of my character.

"Hi, yeah. I have been great. Just woke up," I told her calmly. She looked around as if she was waiting for something to show up, maybe? "Are you looking for something?" I couldn't stop myself asking her.

Her eyes got to me, the face was too obvious to tell that I was right. "Uh... yeah... actually, I am making sure if my brother... is not occupying space in the room or even in the bathroom or something," She told uncomfortably, was I capable of questioning her uneasiness?

I looked in the bathroom's direction with an open mouth, praying to God for not letting him rape me again in my sleep. "Ah, I'm very much sure he isn't here. He left last night," I told her and her uneasiness drastically changed into a shock—a real offensive shock to me.

"W—Why? Are you guys okay with each other? Did he hurt you? Wait... he did hurt you, isn't it? You look tired than yesterday," Natasha rattled out and strode to me. I stayed there, speechless. "Look I know how ridiculous he can be sometimes but I'm sure he will be sorry for whatever he did or said to you. I'm certain he didn't mean it," She tried to defend her criminal brother. I was pretty sure he meant every second of what he did because he admitted it on my face. He loved raping me.

"Whatever. I think we should leave it behind. Just let's live in the moment. How can I entertain you?" I asked her, friendly. Compressing all that void suffocating me from inside.

"Argh, I actually wanted to have a... more like a sister talk with you, if you're comfortable with it. I mean, I always felt this need to have a reliable sister—which I find that quality in you. Giovanna, it's not the same with her. So, I hope we can bond together," Natasha said as she made me sit on the bed with her.

Even though my subconscious screamed I should give her a cold shoulder but my over-kind heart couldn't resist. I had to volunteer. "Yeah, I'm up for it. I'm all ears," I told her as an elder sister with a cool temperament would do.

"I have questions for you, actually..." She hesitated to say those questions out loud for a moment. Wait, was she blushing. Oh my God, there's something startling coming for me. "How did you fall in love with my brother?" Natasha put the dumbest question on my plate which automatically spoiled my mood. Like seriously? Even if he would be the last guy on this planet, I would still like to stay away from him.

I would never loved your brother, he is a monster. He is terrible. I hate him. He is awful. I mean, he is—"It's complicated," I was fooling myself, wasn't I?

"Complicated? Uh, okay. I can understand the reason behind such a reply," She thought I was angry with her brother because we fought last night. I wanted to say it out loud that I hated him the first time I saw him. "But you do love him, right? You can't deny that," She chuckled lightly. I better tell her it was a big turn off for me.

Do you really hate him, Jennifer? I don't think a person who hates a man would like to kiss the same man over and over again. Was my subconscious really trying to make me fall for Luciano? Heck no.

"So, where did you meet each other?" She asked and that memory hit me like a bullet in my chest. The day, that restaurant, the lift ride, the phone crack and the rescue from him by Andrea. It was all before my eyes this minute.

"We met at a restaurant. He told me that saw me and he fell for me in a click which to me is also a surprise," Of course, it was a fucking surprise, how did I attain devil's attention. I did my best to hide myself from such a monster, but here I was, in his room, with his sister. Ahh!

She scoffed in joy, "I couldn't believe my brother told you he fell for you," Natasha mumbled.

"And why is that?" I was in the middle of rolling my eyes over her but I realised I had to behave nicely.

"Because he has never been open about his love for anyone. He either showed it to kids or our late mother or grandmother. That's it. He wasn't open about his feelings that much," I was aware of that. It was in his body movement that told me he was a private man. For a moment, I felt special; but again I realised what he did to me. I could not forgive him for it. Sometimes Luciano was all sweet but then all of a sudden, he would act like no sugar. It really got hard to tell what he really wanted from me.

Like he offered you last night, marry him, give him the heir and get a divorce. Subconscious reminded me. But the question was; why would he want to marry for a delivery? He had already spilt his seeds in me. What else would he want from a marriage? A divorce reason from Sofia?

"Do you think he really loves me?" Don't you think you start to fall for him, Jennifer? Shut up, you stupid voice in my brain. I could not love him.

"He absolutely loves you, Jennifer. Look, where you are right now. Nobody could ever step into his room yet today I dared to take the risks. He introduced you to grandmother, he announced to everyone that he wants to marry you that we had been longing to hear for like centuries," Centuries? What? But he was already married!

"May I ask why have you said that? because we both know that he's been married to Sofia," I tried to force myself not to dig deep into Luciano's mess but I couldn't help my curiosity, it was killing my cat.

She chuckled mockingly, "Marriage, with Sofia? That's the worst tragedy ever to hit this family," She kept it short but I got it. The same Luciano's stance. "This marriage is worth nothing. But marriage with you would be different," She seethed. I got lost in the line of my thoughts again. But her few words shook me internally. "I can predict this marriage has to happen really soon," She turned her eyes on my belly as if she knew I was pregnant. Did she know?

"I don't understand," God, it was so hard to compose myself.

I couldn't get the answer as the abrupt entrance of Luciano jerked both of us. Fuck, what was this behaviour? "Natasha," Luciano recited her name, sternly. His expressions were deadpan. I literally saw Natasha shivering under his gaze and before anyone could say another word, she was gone in a blink, leaving me again with this monster.

"Who let her in?" He asked Mario with a tilted neck to his left.

"I did. I needed company or else, I would be banging my head at the wall," I hoped this would save Natasha from the upcoming maltreatment. He signalled his bodyguard to leave the room.

Luciano's expression changed the second the door got closed. He looked vulnerable. "Are you okay now?" So he acknowledged I was in some kind of pain because of him. I wasn't doubting if karma was not bitching with him.

"I was," That threw him off again.

"And can I do anything to lessen the pain?" He was coming closer to me now. No. No. The best he could do to me was to stay away.

"Let me go," I pleaded consistently.

"I gave you the offer, have you come to any conclusion?" Luciano asked, his presence was intimidating me. My heart was thumping as loud as an alarm clock.

"What offer?" That's the only thing I could come up with quickly.

"To get married to me, give me my child and part your ways," He summarised.

"Why marry you? I can just give you the baby," I just realised I was really talking about giving him a human being I would be giving birth to, he would be my child too. That broke me so hard. I loved kids more than anything; but...

"Strawberry, my family has some unbreakable traditions and one of them is to get married before planning a baby, but before we could make our relationship work, this little surprise came in the way. So, now, I'm forced to rush the marriage part," He said it like that's exactly what he wanted. I was sure he did it to me deliberately.

"You could just tell your family that you adopted it," I suggested, holding back my outburst because I wasn't a typical ranting woman. I mean I could be sometimes but I didn't want it right now.

"That's also not allowed in our rule book," He said, pushing me to my annoyed mode again.

"Why don't you just fuck off and let me go," I tried to walk away but he blocked my way.

"Why don't you just listen to me?" Luciano growled. He had turned into a fucker again. What a jerk.

"You are not capable of misbehaving with me like that," I pointed and said it out loud and raw. I would not bear him shouting at me after molesting me in every way possible.

"I am capable of doing everything, my feisty one!" He attacked my jaw and pinned me to the wall. His sudden bashing on me got my anxiety to the highest levels. One moment he was different, the second, it wasn't him. "Accept your fate the easy way or I can make your family pay for your stubbornness," He threatened me. My heart jumped into my mouth. All the fire in me extinguished really quick.

"W—What w—will you d—do to them?" I stuttered badly.
