CHAPTER 24
[ L E V Y W I L L I A M S ]
The day passes away quickly, without any significant events occurring. I take it, it’s a break from all the devious madness going about. Reign is never at home, and is always hanging out with his friends, and Matt never leaves the house often. I get ready for school, as I drive myself, Reign and Matt to the school. Lucifer approaches me, as his grim face comes to my sight.
“What happened, Luc?” I question him, flashing him one of my best smiles, to cheer his mood up.
“I got the same note. Saying 'I know what you did'. Man, I'm scared.” He blurts out, sweat beads forming on his forehead.
“What? When?” I ask, my eyebrows knitting together due to the fear that has gotten in my head, and his.
“I had some friends over at the house, for school project issues, when my door bell rang at about 7 pm, and I came rushing down the stairs, to find nobody but that abomination of a note left at my door step.” His voice is laced with fear, and I'm surprised, but in a very bad way. The audacity of the killer knows no bounds.
“Luc, I can tell you this, we have to stick together in order to survive. If divided, we'll fall, one by one. I suggest you bring over some of your belongings at my house, and stay there until we solve this.” My face is etched with worry I have for him. I can’t lose him.
“You.. would do that for me?” He raises an eyebrow, not quite believing.
“Ofcourse! It’s not like I don’t have spare rooms in my house.” My face splits into a huge grin, as we hug and proceed towards the entrance of the school.
The day is bleak, boring. Dark grey clouds have overcast the sky, and hid the sun. Why wasn’t my life any better than the weather? For a milli second or two, everyday, I want to disappear from the face of Earth and go, hide somewhere. My life was far from perfect, and maybe none of my friends, neither me, are going to live out this year. I put the pen in my mouth, lazily staring out of the window during English Class.
The way the winds howl across the distant horizon, as the tree leaves dance matching the beautiful rhythm. That’s when a voice cuts in.
“Mr. Williams?”
I don’t bother to answer whosoever it is. I just want some time to myself now.
“Levy Williams!”
I perk up, as I see Mr. Rodriguez staring daggers at me. Yeah, sir, I'm not in the mood to go through that stupid English book.
“Yes, sir.” I reply obediently, as he shakes his head.
“Why so absent minded?” His eyes scanned me warily, as I gave him a small smile.
“Not feeling good, sir.” I admit, not quite looking at him.
“Dismissed.” He commanded, and I beamed at him, as I packed my bags and left the class. God, what has gotten into me recently? Predicament of death? Maybe. I can’t lose anymore people. We lost Tracy, then we may lose Lucifer. Then, who’s next? George? Me? Reign?
I head towards the men's washroom, as I locate the huge basins. I swiftly turn on the tap, as cold water gushes out. I drop my bag off on the granite slab, as I splash the cold water on my face. I need a vacation, but I can’t even do that in the middle of all this madness. I half heartedly glance at the reflection on the mirror, as I keep rinsing my face. Finally when I'm done, I fish out a handkerchief from my jeans pocket, as I dry my hair and face off.
I'm about to leave, when the bathroom lights go off all that once. I still on the spot. He’s here. The killer is here.
“Who’s there?” I regain my bold, intimidating voice, as I walk towards the washroom stalls. Silence.
“Who’s there? Show yourself!” I shout at the top of my lungs, ready to face the person who's fucking up with my loved ones. Let’s end this charade, shall we? That’s when I hear heavy footsteps approaching me from the back.
