CHAPTER 22

Levy's face became deathly pale, as he hung up on Lucifer, guiding the car to make a U turn. His knuckles gripped the steering wheel until they became white, and he felt a wave of rage hit him on the back. This was purely sick, more than sick. Now, he had the money, and he'd call one of the most brilliant computer engineers, who happened to work for his uncle, to sort this shit out.

“Why are we going back?” Came his brother’s voice, who knew nothing of the present situation.

“Reign, we're going home.” He replied, not quite looking at his brother, who seemed caught off guard by the whole situation.

“What? Why?” Reign asked, his eyebrows shot up in surprise.

“Because, we have to.” Came the other guy's short reply, cutting him off.

After a couple of minutes, they were home, with Levy hastily parking the car in the garage, storming in the foyer, with Reign following him like a lost puppy. He saw Lucifer sitting on the couch by the door, to whom he gave an understanding nod, as the three men climbed up the stairs, and got into Levy's bedroom as Lucifer shut the door from inside.

“Can someone tell me what’s going on?” Reign questioned, clearly exasperated, because neither of the two guys were giving much away.

Instead of providing him a proper answer, both the guys glared at him, as the realization hit him, that something which was his doing, clearly went off track. But, he couldn’t pin point any particular incident, because he had so many wrong doings.

“Now, Levy, this video of Reign fucking Cody, was uploaded by a user whose account is named 'There You Are'. Does that mean anything to you?” Lucifer spoke, as he opened up the site on which the video had been uploaded.

“Yes. The guy who murdered Tracy, wrote the lyrics of 'There You Are' — a song by Zayn, on the walls with blood. The sheriff showed me the pictures, yes.”

Reign was gaping open mouthed at them both, not knowing what to say. He knew this was his fault, and now he opted for the keeping mum option, before the other guys' patience wears off.

“Dude, the killer was inside the school, recording that damn video! We should inform the sheriff.” Lucifer cried, flopping on the bed, his head buried in his hands.

“And tell the sheriff what? That, a few years ago, we indulged ourselves in underage drinking, and killed my dad and some other guy, after which, we dumped both of their bodies in the sea. And now, some lunatic has come after us, who knows about our crime, and is performing sick stunts?” Levy's tone was dripping with mockery, and Lucifer let out a deep breath.

“You’re right. We can’t tell the sheriff. Now, what do we do? God knows what more stuff is left for us to know. Whoever the guy is, he’s completely blinded by vengeance. But, why after so many years?” Lucifer looked eagerly at Levy, who massaged his forehead.

“I don’t know, Luc. All I know is, now that the guy is after us, we have to defend ourselves. The biggest problem is, we don’t know the guy. He can be anywhere at any time. We aren’t safe. And we have to stick together, if we want to be alive.” Levy's hand reached Lucifer’s shoulder, as the other guy pulled him in for a hug.

“I’m so sorry…. I.. don’t know…. I — ” Reign covered his face with his hands, as the guys stepped out of their embrace.

“I’m not mad at you.” The quarterback told his little brother, as he saw tears dripping from his eyes.

“Shit, Reign, don’t cry!” Lucifer intervened, when Reign dropped to the ground on his knees.

Levy rushed to his brother’s aid, placing his head on his lap, pulling him close to his own self. Reign's body racked with each sob that came out of his lips, as he curled into a ball on his brother’s lap. “Sshh….” Levy whispered, massaging his brother’s hair to ease out any pain that he was going through, when Reign peered to look up at him, and gingerly placed his lips on Levy's.

“Oh no, man.” Lucifer breathed out, staring at them, analysing the situation.
