GET A ROOM!
GET A ROOM!
LIORA’S POV
“I didn’t miss you at all,” I muttered. “You were too busy learning bad manners in whatever place you were kept to even save me on time!” I half yelled. Honestly, I was very offended that they didn’t come earlier to save me.
“Ralph almost skinned me alive!” I hissed. “ I had to use a shard of plate to injure him, but he caught me and strapped me onto the table.”
“Where was he going to start from?” He asked as his eyes never left my body.
“What do you mean?”
Before I could register what he was saying, Azrael grabbed my left boob. “Was he going to start from here?”
A gasp escaped my lips. “Azrael!” I muttered low, so I wouldn’t grab the attention of Mara and Joel.
“Or here.” His lips grabbed mine in a slow yet sensual kiss. I stopped breathing, and the world faded around me as Azrael's lips moved against mine, biting and nibbling.
The world only came back into focus when Joel popped up from nowhere, appearing by our side. “The only way for us to have peace in this pool is if I drown your boyfriend!” Joel dragged Azrael away.
Mara held me in place, preventing me from sinking, “ Girl! You just ‘un-nuned’ yourself, and a few days later, you’re making out with a sexy beast. I think I should start taking lessons from you instead.” She pulled me to the deck so I could sit on it, while my legs dipped into the water.
Joel, who claimed he was going to sink Azrael in the water, was the one who currently had their head pinned inside the water.
“So what are you guys now?” Mara asked.
“Who?” I asked, confused about who she was referring to.
Mara glanced at me as if I were the dumbest creature she had ever met. “You and Azrael!” She flicked my head. “You guys are all over each other, can’t stop staring at one another whenever you’re in a room together. And your mouths were plugged to his like two minutes ago.”
“Friends, I guess?” I said with uncertainty. What were we really? I had never really given it much thought.
“Baby girl, you both passed that friendship boundary a long time ago. Just saying.”
Azrael and I had indeed passed that. I mean, no man has ever touched me the way he did, it’s like he had laid claim to every part of me.
I stared at Azrael, whose eyes were still on me, not breaking contact. Even while trying to drown his comrade, he couldn’t keep his eyes away. Finally, he let Joel out of the water. Then the men swam toward us.
“What are you girls talking about?” Joel asked.
“Nothing involving you.” Mara pushed Joel, who rested on her lap.
Azrael did the same, but I didn’t push him. I didn’t want to. I liked him between my legs. Staring only at me.
But our stares were once again rudely interrupted by these two idiots splashing water on us. “Get a room!” Joel muttered.
“Get a lover,” Azrael mumbled back.
The word lover clung to my chest, it was as if Azrael noticed, so he smiled at me. Did he just call me his lover?
“Guys. Let’s play a game,” Mara suggested.
“What game?” I asked. Hoping it would not involve swimming.
“Cringiest moments. So here’s the deal: each of us has to say their most embarrassing moment.”
“Lame!” Joel screamed.
“Don’t mind him, probably yelling cause he doesn’t want everyone to know his precious secret.” Azrael chuckled.
“I don’t have one.” Joel puffed, but there was a daring look in his eyes.
“Oh, really?” Azrael turned to face Mara because he probably knew she was the one who was hungriest to hear Joel’s secret. And she was indeed, her ear was now as long as an elf’s.
“So there was this one time we went on a raid organised by my father. I think we were twenty-two then, and the party was costumed-themed. It was urgent, so majorly unplanned, when we searched different shops that night and all the costumes were sold out except for one store. Guess who went on the mission dressed as a fairy godmother?” Azrael snickered.
“No way!” Mara screamed, laughing her ass out while Joel was busy throwing glares at them.
“It was for duty.” He protested.
“No duty’s gonna make me wear a glittering shoe and a blonde wig.” Azrael laughed. “On the bright side, that was where he first met his girlfriend.”
Mara’s laughter, which was as loud as a hyena's, immediately ceased. I turned to see if she was okay, but her mood had switched drastically.
“You have a girlfriend?” She asked Joel whose hand was now on his head scratching nervously.
“Something like that.” He mumbled.
“Cool.” She muttered.
~
The rest of the day went by in a blur. Mara had become quieter while Azrael and Joel continued their bickering.
After we all got tired and wanted to get dry, we left the pool.
Azrael and Joel walked ahead of us with towels wrapped around their bodies, their topic had shifted from fun to business mood almost immediately.
“Are you okay?” I asked Mara.
“Sure, why not?” She gave me her usual ‘I’m not okay, just trying to lie to you’ smile.
“Doesn’t seem like that to me. Is it because of Joel’s girlfriend?” I whispered the last part so the two ahead would not hear it.
“Nope.”
The way she said it so fast meant it was definitely it. “Mara, do you have feelings for Joel?” I asked.
“No!” she yelled, making the boys stop their conversation and turn to look at us.
“Everything’s fine.” I smiled at Azrael, then they jumped back into their conversation.
“Mara, I know you. You’ve had so many crushes in your brief life span, and each time you react this way!” I hushly whispered.
“Li, it’s really not like that. “
I was about to give her a reply when Azrael’s voice sounded loud and clear. Not to me but on the phone that was placed on his ears.
“You’ve found Raphael?”
