Chapter 76 Sweet Daddy

Chapter 76 Sweet Daddy
Lalissa woke up to the constant vibration of her phone.

Tapping her hand on the bed, she reached for the phone.

"Who keeps calling?" She mumbled drowsily, her phone vibrating in her hand again.

Tons of notifications popped on the screen. She was about to click Bella's call when another one popped.

"Geez," she hissed, swiping the green button.

"What took you so long!?" Bella asked right away.

"I was sleeping."

"By this time?"

Lalissa turned towards the clock, and her eyes widened a bit when she saw the time.

9:45 AM!

She closed her eyes, and drew in a long inhale. Gosh.

"I stayed awake late n—"

"That aside. Have you seen the news?"

"What news?" Lalissa asked, confused.

"Com'on girl, turn on your TV! The internet is on fire! Natasha's...just turn on the news!!!"

"Okay," Lalissa got down the bed, and headed for the drawer.

With the way Bella sounded, it's too serious, and going to the sitting room to get the remote is going to be a waste of time, and rise of curiosity.

She pressed the button. The first news that appeared on the screen made her breath hitch, and her eyes widen.

~Just this morning an anonymous person released a shocking news. According to the report, Natasha Beaumont has been found to indulge in sexual activities with the director just to get some scripts.

~Information reaching us is that this particular movie that was set to be released tomorrow was given to her by sleeping with the director, by so doing, the movie has been cancelled until further notice.

~The person also released another shocking news. A tested recorder confirmed to be Natasha's voice has broken out. In the recording, it's her plotting the kidnap of the well-known fashion Icon's daughter—Lalissa McKenzie.

~The state is on fire, and the cops are currently searching frantically for her. She has been put on a curfew, and can't leave the state until—

"See!" Bella's voice vibrated in her hand, and that was when she remembered she was still on a call with Bella. "She is ruined. I—"

Lalissa spoke. "Bella, I'll call you back." She hung up before Bella could say a thing.

"Cassian, what have you done?" She mumbled, dialing his number. "Pick up." She paced around.

As if hearing her, his deep voice boomed through the speakers. "You're awake?"

"Is this what you mean by she'll come to you?" She asked, urgently. "You just ruined her career and—"

"I told you she'll crawl out of her hiding place."

"You didn't have to ruin her career. We could have found her one way or another, but now, even the police are—"

"The police won't get her." Cassian cut her off. "I'll get to her before they do."

"The police are better than you in that case. You'll destroy her—"

"That's the plan. No one touched what's mine."

Lalissa sighed, calming down. "You can't spare her for old time's sake?"

"I spared her once, not again."

"Once?"

"That's a boring topic for another day," he replied, his tone flat.

She could tell he was in the office. She heard the sound of the keyboard. "You aren't redeemable."

"I'm not trying to. Making you cum is the only redeemable part you can get."

"Hey," her cheeks heated. "It's too early to say such filthy words."

"So you shouldn't ruin my day with your sympathetic self."

"I was only worried about—"

"If it were someone that deserves it, I wouldn't have stopped you. Know when to use your kind heart."

She nodded as though he could see her, biting her inner cheek. She could feel the annoyance in his voice. Maybe he's right—not all deserve kind gesture, and Natasha doesn't. She'd have killed her if Cassian didn't shoot her.

"Have you eaten?" Cassian hummed.

Lalissa sat on the bed. "I'm just waking up. Bella woke me up with her calls."

"Freshen up, and have your breakfast," he wasn't telling her, it was an order that made her relax on the bed, listening to his sweet orders like an obedient puppy. "There's no need coming to the office. Nothing much to do."

"What am I going to be doing at home all day?" Lalissa questioned with a slight frown.

"Resting. Eat, sleep. Don't try to stress yourself."

Lalissa checked her nails, kicking her right leg on the floor. "If someone hears the way you're talking, they'll think you're talking to your pregnant wife." The words slipped out before she could control it.

Cassian's deep husky hum made the phone shake in her hand. It's like this conversation made him sink deeper into the chair cause she could hear him closing the laptop.

"Have you been thinking of carrying my child?"

"I didn't mean to say that," she replied quickly. "My stupid mouth says a lot."

"Your brain processed it, and your mouth delivered the final order. I like it." If only she could see him right now, she's sure the smirk on his face would move a mountain.

"That's not what I meant. You're making it up."

"That's how human beings are functioned to make things up. Not saying pregnancy, and using 'made it up' to cover it," he made sure she understood the sarcasm behind it.

Lalissa felt tongue-tied, not because she said something wrong, but because he knew she was telling the truth. She hadn't thought about it like any other things, but sometimes she just wondered what it would be like if she maybe carries his child.

"So tell me, how many kids do you plan on having?"

"Cassian!" Her heartbeat reached her ears. "You're at the office. Concentrate." She swiped the red button knowing how his words are. Once he starts, it's never ending, and her stupid cunt will do what it knows best—dripping wet at his words.

She left the phone on the bed, and went into the bathroom.

"Freshen up and eat." She recited his words, reaching for her toothbrush and paste.

\--

Climbing the stairs, her phone was in her hands, eyes glued to it as she read the comments concerning Natasha's case. She's lost lots of followers already, and the remaining ones are few, and the ones she'll call humble disciples. Thinking about the whole thing, Cassian was right. The wrong shall pay.

She clicked Sweet Daddy, and began typing. How many times she's changed his name. From D to Daddy and now, Sweet Daddy.

Sweet Daddy: I'm about to have my breakfast.

She paused, thought then continued, 'what did you eat?'

She clicked send.

Almost immediately he replied as if he had been waiting for her text.

Sweet Daddy: I had coffee. Had to leave early in the morning.

She typed again.

Sweet Daddy: Just coffee!? You should get something to eat. I don't want you to fall sick.

Sweet Daddy: You're the only meal I want to eat. Too bad you ain't available right now.

Sweet Daddy: You don't have to be so raw in serious situations—

"Cassian really sees you as his daughter."

Lalissa froze, her eyes shooting up. "Mom?" She hid her phone.

How could she forget, her mom had returned.

Sara raised her brow teasingly at her. "Were you expecting anyone else?"

"No," Lalissa smiled awkwardly. "You startled me, that's all."

"Oh, didn't know that. You were too busy on your phone to hear my movements. You were going through the news?"

"Um," Lalissa gulped. "Yes." The lie came out easily, and she noticed something strange. She didn't feel a single guilt lying.

"Right, I'm sure Cassian is behind it."

Lalissa narrowed her brow, questionably. "How did you know that?"

"I knew the type of man I went for. He's capable of anything."

Lalissa smiled, replying carefully. She can't give her mom any reason of doubt. "Exactly."

Another question flashed in her eyes as it seemed something just ticked in her head.

"You're still at home." She checked her phone. "By this time of the day?"

Sara is always in a hurry, so it's surprising that she hasn't left for the office.

Sara climbed the needed stairs to reach Lalissa. She held her hand, and gave her a sweet smile. "I prepared something for us."

Us? The word stuck with Lalissa.

"What's that?"

"Here." Sara led the way and Lalissa followed, giving her mom a strange and confused stare.

They reached the dining table, and her eyes widened at the amazing delicacies that filled the table. It was filled with combined dishes—US, Mexican, and other dishes she couldn't recognize. The only time she had seen such an excessive meal was the time she went on a dinner with Cassian back in New Orleans. Here in Canada, her breakfasts were always tea, coffee, something light and easy as her mom always leaves the house like each second she spared was billions leaving her account.

Now, this is strange. Very strange.

"Did you cook all these?"

"I ordered them." Sara released her hand, and shifted the chair back for Lalissa. "Come on, eat."

Lalissa's butt landed on the chair, face written with complete confusion. Sara sat on the other side, and dished out the food.

"Mom," Lalissa couldn't hold the suspicion in again. "Is something going on? Why order so much?"

Sara looked at her with her usual smile that always reached her ears. "There's nothing wrong. I came to the realization that I haven't been spending so much time with my daughter. It's always work, work. Today I've decided to make it up to you. We'll have mother and daughter day."

"Mom?" Lalissa whispered, shocked.

"You don't want it?"

Lalissa blinked, shaking her head. "I'd love to." Inwardly her mind refused to be at peace.

This is the first time and it feels really strange.

"I haven't been a good mother. I neglected you for a long time, and forced you to always ace your exams so you could maintain the intelligence that runs in our blood."

"Mom, what are you trying to say?"

"I want to make up for all the times I missed. Like knowing your favorite things, and the things that go on in your life."

Lalissa smiled softly. "Mom, it's not really that important. I'm fine, and I love you the way you are."

Sara nodded, lifting a fork to her lips.

Lalissa did the same and was about to eat when her mother's next statement made her hand pause.

"I agree, I might not know your favorite color, and other things, but I am your mother, and I want to know the things that go on in my daughter's love life."

"Mom..."

Sara hummed. "Do you have anyone you're in love with?"
