Chapter Nine: She must pay for this
(Alpha Greg's POV)
"What just transpired?!" I asked, in a thunderous voice.
It was so difficult for me to believe that the lycan I had been acquainting for eighteen years was just taken away from me. Sitting on the floor, I scratched my fingernails on the bare ground. I have felt more discomfort in several wars than this but why does this have to hurt me more?
I enjoyed beating and bullying her for no reason. But, of course, it gave me so much joy. You might be wondering why I became so cruel and vicious. I want you to know that something does not just start without a spur and that is what I am about to disclose to you all.
I was born into a family of werewolves and lycans. My father was the Alpha of our pack, BloodMoonn. I had a household of four. Two she-wolves who were my mother and my junior sibling, then, two he-wolves, I and my father. We were living an extremely agreeable life not until my father discovered the big mystery abo of my mother. She had had sexual intercourse with his second in command, Beta Simon, making a reproduction that brought forth my sibling and me.
His discovery woke the demon in him and he killed both of them, including my sibling.
He was on the verge of killing me when I took the first step and that was the end.
I killed him.
Sighing, I stood from the ground and was about to leave when Cassie approached me.
"My lord, is all well?" she asked, her finger slightly brushing the tip of my garment. Her face showed concern and, at the same time, envy. I knew the type of woman I was about to get married to. She was just pretending.
"Do not dare touch me!" I replied, whacking her hand off. "Are you blind about the whole situation?! I added, with the feeling of making her disappear.
"What situation?!" she answered, yelling. "She has always been a slave in this residence and will always be no matter what she accomplishes or who she lives with."
*I do not have time to banter utterances with you. Get out of my way." I replied, gently shoving her aside as I headed to go down the stairs.
"Do you value her?!
The question Cassie asked triggered the bitterness in me but I decided to maintain composure. "Leave me alone woman!" I shouted.
It was hard for me to hide my feelings now. She should not have asked me.
She moved back as I kept going close to her. "Do not ask me such anymore!" I pronounced as I gave her a slap across her cheek. She weaned and fell back as it touched her face.
"What?! She asked as her eyes shot out wide. "You slapped me because of that...." I did not permit her to finish the sentence when I released a punch on her stomach.
"Stop talking!" I kept on repeating the words while I kicked and beat the hell out of her.
"Please...please." she pleaded, crying aloud.
She should have maintained silence when I told her to. I was still in the pain of being repudiated by a slave and now, she wants to make it worse for me. I would never allow that.
When I was satisfied pouring out my anger on her, I stood, signing vehemently. I looked at the body on the floor, she was obviously in pain but I did not care.
"You do not have a say in this house," I muttered, staring at her with so much hatred. Turning to move away, I bumped into Beta Roland who slightly bowed his head without moving an inch.
I walked close to him and whispered as I looked into space "Take care of her." He nodded and I left to the dining room, leaving both of them alone.
I groaned silently as I lay on the floor.
It was hard for me to stand. The beatings were not as painful as knowing that the Alpha has emotions for an insignificant wolf. She has no family member or someone she could associate with. So why does he have to be so infuriated about it?
Sighing, I gently placed my palms on the floor to make them a support for my standing. It was difficult but I endured the pain. I closed both eyes breathing in and out. After that, I tried to stand with the last strength I had but was stopped by a hand.
"Let me assist you." Beta Roland said softly as he stretched out his hand to help me.
I looked at him scornfully and hissed as I used an iron to support myself in lifting my injured body.
"I am fine," I replied, dusting my clothes that had been stained with clouds of dust.
He did not move away from his position and that annoyed me the more. "Why are you still standing?!" I screamed while standing my feet on the ground.
"I said I was fine. I can take care of myself." I added, leaving his front. I was about to leave when he spoke.
"He does not treasure her. He loves you," he muttered, using his right side eye to look at me.
I turned to him and said, "What did you say?"
Of course, I heard him right but I needed to hear it again. I needed assurance to stay and stick by him.
"But the love will vanish if you continue to show attitudes that annoy him." Beta Roland answered, this time around, facing me as he turned his body.
He did not say anything more than that and left silently.
"What was that about?" I asked myself as I kept an eye on him as he left.
He was right. I have been with Alpha Greg all my life and yes, I know his do's and don't's. He loves me too but his personality is saying otherwise. Would it not be hard to believe that he loves me alone and not Ellen?
I mean, the way he behaved tonight showed how much he loved her and not wanting her to leave his side. He should not have reacted when Lycan King of Blood Moon revealed he was going to take her away.
He still allotted an offer to her just so she could stay. Is that not spiritual?!
But what did Beta Roland mean when he said I should quit exhibiting that attitude? Who is to be blamed in this love triangle if not the Alpha who has decided to be confused when choosing a partner?
I would never give Ellen rest and peace of mind. I was pleased with my King before she got into our lives. He has never raised his hand on me. Or let me say he has but not to this extent.
She must pay for this.
