Chapter 82 Eighty two
Chapter 82 Eighty two
Luna PoV
I pushed the tray away from me, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to stomach food, and I suspected the privilege would be taken from me once I responded. “He’s my father. Berus is my dad.”
“And you thought that keeping this information to yourself was the best option?!” he snarled as he jumped from the chair and kicked it across the room. “You deceived me!"
I frantically shook my head, attempting to plead my case. “No, that wasn’t my intention. I meant to tell you, but everything just got so out of hand. I-I'm sorry.”
“You are MINE fraulien.” He growled lightly, reminding me of something I already knew. “I need to know everything. Start from when you were taken.”
I spent the next god knows how long telling the Prince everything that occurred in the underground home of the phantomhive’s, everything I could remember about what they had told me, including the fact that Vincent had risked everything to get me out. I did my best to explain the layout, but just like this ‘castle’ the winding and never ending hallways had me stumped. I could barely recall the one passageway that we had escaped through.
My master had taken a seat at the edge of the bed, the chair he had kicked across the room laying shattered against the wall, his face blank of all emotion and his mind cut off from me. I wanted desperately to know what he was thinking, I needed to know if I would be punished for withholding this for too long.
Once I had told everything that I possibly could, I leant back slightly against the head board, taking greedy sips from the glass of warm water.
“Do you realise what you have done!?” He yelled, his fangs visible as he spoke; “You are going to start a war!”
“I didn’t do it on purpose, it wasn’t even my choice!” I screamed, mimicking his angered tone. “If I remember correctly, they kidnapped me and I can’t exactly choose who my father is!”
He growled again, his eyes now a shade darker than before. “I made a mistake keeping you, Elizabeth will go to my father and demand I hand you over.”
“I don’t want to anywhere near her or my father, I hate them.” I whispered, his words bring only fear to my heart. “Isn’t their something you could do?”
Silas sighed, trying to calm himself; but I knew he was seething with rage. Maybe I should let her take you, you’ve been nothing but trouble.”
“You don’t mean that.” I sobbed, would he really give me to Elizabeth Phantomhive? I had been nothing but loyal, I had tried to follow every rule!
“Don’t I?” He snapped as he turned his back on me and walked towards the door, stopping just before his hand reached the handle. “When my father finds out what you are, he will kill you. I won’t be able to prevent that.”
He left after that, my heart shattering into a thousand pieces, he would let his father kill me? He said that I was his and yet he was talking about handing me over to the very creatures that want me dead, he told me that I was important and I believed it. I trusted a Vampire, the vampire prince no less! I should have known better, my mother told me to be careful, that I would always be in grave danger around them. I curled up into a ball on my side as I cried silently, I would never be of this life, I would always be a prisoner to their kind, used and then tossed aside.
I don’t how much time passed as I cried, I had no clock to keep track of time, no one to talk to, no one to comfort me as I hiccuped and gasped between tears.and gasped between sobs. I was about to go to the bathroom when the door clicked open, voices drifting in from the hallway as I instantly tensed. Has he come back to hand me over to his father or Elizabeth? The tears dampened my cheeks quicker and I moved to sit on my knees, determined that I wouldn’t go to my death without a fight. Only, it wasn’t the vampire prince who entered the room, it was the plump middle age woman that asked me questions and brought me breakfast, I wasn’t sure how long as that was. Everything that had happened seemed to have all blurred together.
She walked towards the bed, clearly noticing the dried blood around my mouth and neck, I didn’t need to tell her what had happened she would already know. Everyone would. She smiled softly as she took a seat on the edge of my bed, her brown eyes filled with sympathy and regret.
She reached out and tucked a loose strand of my mattered hair behind my ear, her voice low and kind. “I know who you are Luna Marshal. I was a friend of your mothers.”
I frowned, I hadn’t seen this woman before the other day, if she was a friend of my mother why didn’t she say so before? Why was she coming to me now? I moved away when she reach out to stroke my cheek, I didn’t trust this woman, I didn’t trust anyone. Mum always told me to be careful, you never know who will play both sides of a coin to get what they want. People like that wouldn’t care who they harmed on the way to triumph.
“I can see you are confused, but you must listen this isn’t much time.” She stressed, her eyes casting back towards the door for a quick glance. “I want to help you, like I helped Sarah.”
My mind was slow and distant and I guessed it was from the vampire Venom, but something felt comforting about this woman’s presence. Did she really know my mother? Is she the one that helped her escape with me when I was a baby? I had so many questions, unable to contain them as they surged through me.
“Who are you?” I whispered, jumping when I heard shouts and screams coming through the corridor. “What do you mean help, what’s happening?”
