Chapter 75 Chapter 75

Chapter 75 Chapter 75
Luna PoV

I had to think of something to say that wouldn’t get me into hot water, something that wouldn’t show the true reason I had the brand on show. “I-I have to show who I belong to.”

He looked pleased, more than a little, “I see you have started to learn.” He says, voice colder than before.

I paused on what he had said, he thought that I was doing it to show obedience but that wasn’t what I was doing at all. It was for me to see, a reminder that I would never be free, that I would never belong to myself. It was a curse. A reminder that I never belonged to myself.

The mark was the proof I needed to see that I was a slave, it didn’t matter how pretty the cage was, when all was said and done, it was still a cage. One that he would never let me go escape from.

I glanced up slowly, watching the smile as it grew across his features, I was his wild stallion, and he had broken me. I was his greatest weapon, one that he needed to be sure wouldn’t betray him. And I wouldn’t, because what other choice did I have? I was his, he had won me fair and square.

“It pleases me that your time alone has given you the chance to think about your actions.” He chuckled softly, stepping closer to me. “Showing my mark so openly as if an acceptance of your place here.”

I scoffed, the words slipping from my mouth before I could stop them. “Thats all I could do, think.”

“You clearly haven't thought enough.” growled the Prince as he approached me again, backing me into one of the bed posts. “Don’t think that I won’t leave you here again, or better yet, we could move you too somewhere more suitable. The dungeon perhaps?”

“NO!” I shouted in panic; I didn’t want to be on my own again. I couldn’t be on my own again. “I mean … I-I'm sorry master, I didn’t mean to say that. I don’t want to be on my own again.”

How many times must I grovel?

He was supposed to be my way out of this life, but he has clearly changed his mind about all that. I’m nothing but a useful weapon, and when my usefulness is over, my life will be forfeit.

“I will let you off this once, but remember one thing, I own you. I could have you killed at the snap of my fingers, or better yet I could do it myself. You are weak.” He snarled as he grasped the top of my arm, leading me towards the door.

He calls me weak, he calls me his, but I am neither of those things.

One day, I will escape and I will never come back to this life.

“W-where are we going?” I asked in panic, was he going to lock me down in the dungeon?

How long would I be alone for? Panic seeped throughout my whole body. My time in here showed me just how alone I truly was now that Blanche is gone. She was my only lifeline. My only friend in this world.

“Calm down, we are going to a meeting. I need everything you know on Elizabeth Phantomhive.” He laughed, but the annoyance was clear in his voice.

One wrong move and he’d lock me away again.

I stopped tugging against his grasp on me, practically having to run to keep up with his unnatural pace. I was still unable to charter the twists and turns of Silas’ home, it was too vast and confusing to remember. The long halls and similar paint throughout making it impossible to tell each hall apart.

“When we get there, you will not have long to get into your position by the side of my chair, there will be vampires there who do not know who or what you are, and you will not reveal it to them until I deem it necessary. Is that understood?” when I nodded my response he continued; “You will remain on your knees with your head bowed, and you will not look at any of them unless they speak to you directly. If you disobey these orders thy will expect me to punish you and I will not let you off easily. Am I clear Fraulien?”

“Yes master, I understand.” I whispered, my arm beginning to ache as he pulled me. “Head down, mouth shut.”

We arrived at the doors to the meeting room, Silas’ “War Room”. The doors thudded loudly as they opened, inside the room bustled with Vampires from all over the kingdom, every rank of nobility was here, all gathered for one purpose. One that I was certain would mean war, and that alone; was terrifying.

We moved quickly through the crowd, dodging the many bodies that filled the room, eyes falling in my direction for only a second; though I knew from the warning that I couldn’t meet their gazes. I had to play the part of a good slave. I had to prove he could trust me to do as I am told, for now.

The prince stopped at a small step, his seat high above the others and ushered me to go first; my head low as I climbed it without hesitation and took my place to the right of the high-backed chair. I knelt as fast as I could whilst attempting to remain somewhat graceful, my head low and I clenched my eyes shut, I had never been in the presence of so many high-class vampire families before. The pounding of my own heart in my ears reminding me of how mortal I was and how easily they could kill me should that be what they wished.

Even as I wanted to pretend that I was strong, that I had a special power that would protect me, I doubted that I would be able to take two of them down before I was swarmed. There must be at least thirty of the undead in the vast room, much more than I would have thought and many more than I would be able to defend myself again. Silas was right, I needed to be silent and still. I needed to be invisible.

Silas creeped into my head as he took his seat, barely glancing my way, but keeping a close eye on my every thought and feeling. I was overwhelmed, my heart and mind didn’t know how to cope, if I wasn’t careful, I would go into a full panic attack and either lash out or lose consciousness.

“If you do not calm down, you will draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Is that what you want?” He snapped harshly, his voice rough and commanding in my head, he couldn’t say it out loud or it would indeed bring all the attention my way.

“No master, I-I've just never been around so many before.” I sent the answer into his mind as I kept my gaze on the floor, the tapping of his hand on the arm of the chair the only response I required.

I needed to get a hold of myself, and I needed to do it fast.

Silas cleared his throat in the same commanding way that he did everything, addressing the room. “Everyone, if you will take you seats, we will begin.”
