CHAPTER 92

Every Wrong Answer Has A Penalty

Maurice was deep in thought in his study room after Freya left, and his eyes were brimming with murderous intents. He never could imagine that his cousin was so bold to think of hiring an imposter to keep up with him, and tried to mess with his head by forming that she was the one he had been looking for all along.

"They are really bold to even think of deceiving me into believing them…I almost fell," Maurice mumbled to himself as his gaze went to the phone on his desk.

He wondered what he was going to do with the video, since he knew just a video was not enough to deal with his grandfather's favorite granddaughter.

"And if I want to implicate Fernando in some way in the mess I am going to need more than just a video," Maurice blurted out, and he picked up his phone to make a call.

"Hello boss," the person on the other side of the phone greeted him immediately after he picked up the call, and Maurice hummed in reply.

"Can you find me something about my brother…no, find something on Freya, I want to know everything about her, how she lived, what she was doing…" I was saying, but my man cut me off.

"What boss! But I already sent you that report a few days ago," the man said from the other side of the phone, his voice filled with disbelief wondering what his boss was still searching for all over again.

"What? You sent it already?" Maurice asked, and the man affirmed and Maurice ended the call to check his email, and he was surprised to find out that it was indeed true and the man had really sent it.

Maurice went through the information displayed on his screen and he was surprised by all that he found.

"What? Did you mean they found this kind of person to deceive me?" Maurice wondered, and he chuckled mocking himself.

He was so deep in thought thinking about what he saw when he heard a soft knock on his study room's door.

Maurice's eyebrow raised hearing the door to his study room being knocked on and he wondered who could be it this time around.

"Who is that?" Maurice asked, but the person did not say anything instead the door to the study room creaked open gently

Maurice's hand instantly went to the drawer and he noticed the person walking into the room had a bad intention, but he relaxed when he saw the person's face.

He was surprised to see Penelope's face revealed, and his eyebrow creased in confusion wondering what the girl was doing in his study room late in the night like that.

"Hi…are you busy?" Penelope asked, tucking her hair behind her ear with pouting lips giving off the image of a high school girl going after her crush in college.

Penelope takes in Maurice's cold handsome face under the dimmed study room light and her heart thumps in joy not getting over the man's handsomeness, and she gets wet just thinking about him.

Maurice scoffs hearing her question and he wonders if she doesn't consider that before badging into his office.

"What did you want?" Maurice asked, creasing his eyebrow as he looked at the girl that was wearing nothing, but cladded in a shirt that was covering just to her thigh and Maurice scoffs seeing how bold she was.

An imposter was trespassing in his house while he lived…that was shocking.

"About that…I actually do not want anything from you," Penelope says, and Maurice looks at her like she just cracked one of the best jokes of the century but which wasn't funny enough to earn a laugh.

"Really? Yuy don't want anything, but you badged into my office at night just to tell me that?" Maurice asked, his voice carrying so much danger that Penelope got wary off and she gulped her saliva in fear.

She was tempted to leave the office and apologize to Maurice for coming to disturb him, but looking at the man's handsome face Penelope kicked against it.

She has been lusting after the man before she even had a contract with Benedicta so there was no way she was going to pass up on the chance of being someone that Maurice can look up to.

'Even if it means playing the victim card of a girl I do not know of then I do not mind' Penelope made up her mind.

"I just want to talk with you…you know, discuss things about the past," Penelope says unbuttoning the shirt buttons, and Maurice smirks seeing that.

"Really? Do you want to talk about the past? Are you sure of that?" Maurice asked, his voice carrying another meaning that Penelope failed to catch because she was obsessed with her seducing look.

"Yes, so is there something we should start with?" Penelope asked, bending forward so the man could see her exposed cleavage and Maurice's eyes darkened seeing that.

"Definitely, we can start right away, but I must remind you of a rule right now," Maurice says with a condescending smirk which Penelope failed to notice because the fact that the man was talking to her has already clouded her mind and she was not thinking straight.

"Really? And what's that?" She asked with a jolly voice, and Maurice was pleased at her readiness.

'Looks like she is ready to go down tonight' Maurice thought and he smirked inwardly knowing that the girl just fell into his trap.

"It's nothing much…it just had this clause that for every wrong answer, there is a penalty so I will implore you to choose your words well," Maurice says, and Penelope is confused at his words.

"What did you mean by that?" She asked.

"I am telling you that every wrong answer…is like a dip to your death," Maurice said, with a cold look and Penelope got a shiver.

What! Every wrong answer is a dip to your death. How is that?
