CHAPTER 85

Her Nemesis Has Arrived

Freya was dumbfounded about what she heard, and she was suddenly disturbed by the new information and she wanted to escape from the place immediately but she needed more information so she stayed.

"What? You are going…to tell him…that?" Penelope asked, her voice getting shaky hearing Benedicta's threat.

"Of course, Pen, I am going to tell him everything since we have both decided to go all haywire why not!" Benedicta screamed, glaring at Penelope, and getting her eyes twitch hearing that.

It was true that if she backed down she was the one in the most lost and even if Benedicta was going to get affected she could easily get her grandfather to step in. If she acts as a snitch she is going to be the one to suffer. She knew that much.

"Erm erm," Penelope clears her voice, and Benedicta chuckles seeing that she has come to realize the situation.

"I think we should think about who is going to stay in the house..but you know I can't leave Benedicta, how am I to kick Alexa out if I leave?" Penelope says, and even though Benedicta was not convinced she could still not deny that they really needed to kick Alexa out.

Freya was surprised by their words, and she forgot that she was eavesdropping and that she made a squishy sound in disgust.

"What's that sound!" Benedicta asked, and Freya's eyes widened knowing she had just blown up her cover and she rushed into another room closing in gently making sure it made no sound.

"What did you hear?" Penelope asked, as they opened the door looking suspiciously down the hall.

"I don't know, but I was sure I heard a sound coming from this place..maybe it's just me thinking things," Benedicta says, as she urges them to go back inside and they close the door tightly behind them this time.

Freya was almost choking with fear in the room she was hiding when the lady came out of the room, but she sighed in relief hearing them going back to the room.

"I should not go back out until I am sure they have really left..I would not want to bump into them and look like a fool," Freya says, and she stayed in the room for some time.

Benedicta and Penelope concluded their plans with no one shouting at each other and they opened the door to the room leaving the place.

'Are they gone' Freya wondered, hearing the door to the room open and she decided to wait till they were gone completely.

Freya heard the women retreating footsteps and she only came out of the room when she was sure that they were gone.

"Wow, that was a narrow escape, but what am I going to do with this?" Freya wondered looking at the phone in her hands and she knew she had to give someone.

Maybe she should give it to Maurice since he was being fooled, and his wife was also in danger.

After being dropped off by Maurice in the hospital, Alexa walked to her mom's hospital ward only to see her nemesis sitting on the stool smiling at her mother.

Alexa's hand balled into a fist looking at the handsome man in the room, but even when his back turned she could recognize him anywhere and her eyes went to her sister who also gave her a confused look.

"Ohh Alexa is here!" Her mother called excitedly and the man turned to look at her, and Alexa's breath ceased meeting the man's eyes.

"Alexa! Such a long time!" The man called standing up and walked towards Alexa in brisk steps.

Alexa was tempted to run away, but she stood rigidly because her mother was there looking at her and she would not want her to worry about anything at all.

"Such a long time, Alexa, are you not happy to see me?" The man asked, and Alexa gritted her teeth in annoyance hearing that.

Alexa was stiff in the man's embrace and she was on the verge of pushing him away, but she behaved herself because she knew she was in front of her mother and any wrong move she was going to raise an eyebrow from her.

"Yeah a long time," Alexa says, through clenched teeth and the man chuckles seeing how hard she is trying to control her seething hatred.

It was really hard for her.

"It's just a welcome hug. Why is it taking so long?" Priscilla asked, indirectly asking the man to let her sister go.

"What are you saying Priscilla, I am sure that those two must have missed each other let them enjoy the moment,* Alexa's mother says, and Priscilla sighs seeing that her mother was clueless by the man's actions.

"Yes, we missed each other, isn't that right, Alexa?" He asked after disengaging from the hug, but Alexa did not answer his question.

"Why did you come down here without calling me?" Alexa asked, and the man just chuckled. "I asked you a question, Marcus! Why are you here without calling me first?" Alexa asked in a grave voice not caring about anything, but she just hated to see the smirk on the man's lips.

"What are you doing, Alexa? Can't Marcus come to greet me seeing that I was sick and why is all this questioning…Marcus can come and visit me anytime, he is family," Alexa's mother says.

Alexa and Priscilla sighed seeing that their mother had been sold to the man so they decided to not push it further.

"Don't be crossed, Aunty..I am sure she was just vexed that I didn't come to see her first after returning to the country," the man referred to as Marcus says, and Alexa gasped.

'What! Returning to the country? He has always been in the country, he went to prison! Is the prison out of the country now?' Alexa wondered, and Marcus winked at her to cooperate.

"What? Out of the country? That's news to me," Priscilla says, and Marcus glares at her and Alexa, seeing that her sister might get in trouble if the man decides to interfere.

"Priscilla come out with me let's talk," Alexa says and the two leave the room leaving Marcus with the mother knowing that they can't do anything.

"I hate him!" Priscilla spat, and Alexa sighed knowing the feeling was mutual on her side too.

"I know you hate him but you can't get on his nerves like that,* Alexa warned Priscilla, and she promised to be more careful.

Priscilla told Alexa that she was going to get some air and she walked down the hallway.

Alexa also decided to take a seat in the hospital lounge trying to avoid the man, but she bumped into someone on her way.

"Ouch!" Alexa winced in pain, and when she raised her head she saw the man staring at her amusedly.

"Sorry, I don't mean to bump into you," Alexa says, staring at the strangely familiar man looking at her.

"You don't recognize me?" The man asked with a smile.

Alexa looked at the man smiling brightly in front of her and she wondered why she felt like the smile was fake.

Too fake.

"I am sorry you looked familiar, but I don't really remember the place…" Alexa was looking at the man, and the man gasped covering his mouth dramatically. Alexa wondered what she had said wrong.

"What! Are you trying to upset me?" The man asks, and Alexa sighs wondering why she has to bump into a psychopath.

"No, I am not trying to upset you, I just don't remember this face," Alexa says, trying to juggle her memories, but nothing surfaces.

"Ok let me help you," the man says, getting closer to Alexa and he shoves his head forward and Alexa moves backward.

"It's my cousin-in-law…Fernando," he says and Alexa gasps.

'Cousin-in-law!'
