CHAPTER FOUR

Both Dylan and Zane stood up at the same time as the slightly older man who was seating opposite them also stood up. He stretched his hand towards Zane with a small smile on his lips.

“Thank you President Wilson” he said as Zane also mustered a smile and took his handshake. With Zane leading the way they both stepped out of the restaurant. Dylan turned to Zane as soon as the driver started driving.

“Another set of flower seeds have arrived this morning. The gardeners wanted me to tell you that they’ve started planting already” Dylan said and Zane nodded his head.

“That’s nice. Tell them to send some flowers to grandpa’s house” Zane replied as he rested his head on the seat while Dylan instantly went quiet. He sighed softly as he watched Zane.

People thought that being at the top was nice and nice and it was indeed nice but was extremely stressful and if you wanted to remain at the top, you had to struggle and work hard. Really hard and Dylan had watched Zane work hard from Day one and five years and counting, he was still working hard. Twice as hard. It wasn’t hard to get to the top, it was harder staying at the top.

The sky had turned orange has the sun was starting to sink into oblivion. Cars crawled on the road as the car stopped in front of the company and Dylan glanced at Zane who was already half asleep.

“I’ll take care of the company sir. Have some rest” Dylan said as he got down from the car and bowed as the car drove out of sight. He checked his wristwatch and walked into the company as the staff who saw him started giving him curtsied bows while he maintained a straight face till he got into the elevator.

Zane rubbed the back of his seat as soon as the driver into the compound of the large mansion. He removed his suit jacket as soon as he stepped out of the car. He rubbed his forehead as he started walking towards the house.

He inwardly cringed when he started hearing loud noises from the house when he was few steps away from the doorstep. Shaking his head, he stepped into the house and walked into the seating room to see his younger sister dancing and singing mimicking the girls singing behind her in the TV.

He slumped on the chair and used the throw pillows to cover his ears. The song soon came to an end and the extremely beautiful young girl stopped singing as she panted heavily.

“You are home” she said as Zane glanced at her giving her a are-you-serious look as the younger girl shrugged and sat down beside her removing his shoes and socks. She tucked them neatly into the shoes and placed his legs on her laps.

“You barely understand what they say right? CLC or whatever they are called” Zane said and his younger sister snorted at him.

“What do you mean by I don’t understand what they are saying? Yes I don’t understand most but I do understand bits and bits. I mean it Zane, I’m going to go to Korean and join one of this girl bands. They are so awesome” she said as Zane sighed and folded his arms.

“Have you eaten?” he asked as Amanda pointed at the kitchen.

“Food making is still in process” Amanda replied and it was then Zane noticed the numerous chefs walking in and out of the kitchen as they set the dining table.

“School?” Zane asked and Amanda shrugged.

“Nothing new” Amanda replied and Zane pursed his lips as he stared at his younger sister.

“You are not telling me something” Zane said as Amanda pursed her lips as she sighed.

“Fine! Fine! I’ll tell you. there’s this competition between I and Lolita. We are both competing to be the new cheerleading captain. We decided to go by votes and today we have equal votes which is so wrong. I’m a better cheerleader than her and everyone clearly likes me than her. In fact nobody likes her so I am sure she cheated since her stupid minion was the one who counted the votes!” Amanda replied as she folded her arms.

“This wasn’t supposed to be a competition in the first place. Coach Meyers knows that I’m the best suited to be a captain but because she fucked him, he’s going to give her a chance or maybe make her the captain” Amanda added as she hissed loudly while Zane chuckled.

“You want to be the cheerleading captain that bad?” Zane asked and Amanda nodded pouting. Of course I want to be” Amanda replied as she pursed her lips.

“Two cheerleaders weren’t around today so the voting was kinda invalid. They are going to be there tomorrow. What if Lolita bribes them to be captain? What if she bribes them into voting for her?” Amanda asked as Zane chuckled.

“If Lolita is bribing the cheerleaders, why can’t you bribe them as well?” Zane asked as Amanda raised an eyebrow at him.

“What are you talking about? I don’t even know what she’s using to bribe them. it must be something big if not they wouldn’t even vote for her at all” Amanda replied as Zane laughed.

“How many cheerleaders are in the team?” Zane asked.

“There are 16 cheerleaders” Amanda replied as Zane nodded.

“No matter what Lolita is using to bribe them, a ticket to Chris Brown’s concert next week and a free night at Wilson Hotels, nothing is bigger than that” Zane said and Amanda stared at him in surprise.

“Zane, are you serious about that?” Amanda asked in surprise and sheer happiness while Zane nodded his head with a smile.

“Of course not. I’m serious” Zane replied as Amanda instantly climbed on Zane shrieking as she hugged him planting kisses all over his face while Zane tried to avoid her he still laughed in spite himself.

“Thank you so much” Amanda said as she sat on top of him while Zane laughed and smiled.

“Since Lolita is using other means to try to be the captain even when nobody likes her. What do you think would happen if you also used your own means? After all you are the right person to be the captain” Zane said as Amanda giggled as she ran towards her room.

No one knew Zane Wilson had a family member talk less of having a younger sister. Intentionally Zane had hidden her away from the world. And although Amanda still used Wilson as her surname, no one connected her to the popular Zane Wilson.

“I already sent a message to all the cheerleaders and I am awaiting their response. Do you even think they are going to believe me?” Amanda asked as she walked back into the seating room as Zane undid the first two buttons of his shirt.

“Why won’t they?” Zane asked as he sat up on the sofa.

“Send a message to Dylan and ask him to send you pictures of the Chris Brown concerts tickets then you can send them to the girls as evidence” Zane said as Amanda nodded while typing away furiously on her phone.

Zane stood up as he walked towards his room. He opened the door of the room and unlike years ago when he and his younger sister had to share a room as small as a bathroom, his room could at least be turned into a one room apartment. He dropped his suit jacket on the bed and finished unbuttoning his shirt before he walked towards a small door and pushed it open revealing a large closet with clothes everywhere. On another side of the rom were shoes enough to start a shoe company.

Zane quickly picked out a pair of shorts and a causal top and wore it before stepping out of the room and walked towards the seating room as Amanda turned her phone towards Zane.

“Most of them couldn’t believe it at first until Dylan sent me the screenshots so I sent them to the group. Now everyone is asking me how I did it and how got the tickets” Amanda asked as she grinned happily while throwing kisses towards Zane.

“And really, I feel disgusted by these people” Amanda said after a while and Zane turned to her amused.

“Why?” Zane asked as Amanda sighed.

“I really want to be the cheerleading captain because it’s not just something I love doing but also something that would help my future career. And every cheerleader knows how much cheerleading means to me. They also know I’m the best there is. Whatever Lolita must have used to bribe them, knowing who she was and what they were going to face if ever got to be captain, they still shouldn’t have voted for her but they did” Amanda replied as she shrugged.

“Obviously like you said. My offer was better and now they are all going to vote for me tomorrow. I feel awkward that I am using this kind of method to win but the fact that I am the right person to be the captain from the start somehow comforts me”
