CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Harley stepped back few meters away from Zane as she swallowed her saliva.
“I’m sure there’s no rule against a woman doing this first right?” Harley asked as Zane furrowed his brows.
“Against what?” Zane asked as Harley went on her knees while Zane chuckled.
“What are you doing?” he asked as Harley dug into her bag and brought out a small box. She opened it revealing a ring while Zane stared at her in shock.
“Harley” he called in shock.
“I’m proposing to you; I’m asking you to marry me” Harley said in a choked voice as she smiled.
“I love you Zane. I love you so much. All my life, I wondered why I couldn’t find the perfect guy for him, I looked and looked but I couldn’t find him, I didn’t realize that all my life, he had been there for me and that I was the one who never noticed. And even when I met him, I didn’t recognize him and it took me almost losing him before I finally recognized him” Harley said as Zane tried to stop the tears brimming at the edges of his eyes.
“I know I’m not supposed to be saying my vows here but I, Harley Madison is going to take you Zane Wilson, as my first and only love of this one life, to trust, to honour, to love, to understand, to keep company and be with you whenever you need me, to be the shoulder you’ll place your head when you are tired, to be the bosom, you’ll bury your head when you want to sleep, to be your everything” Harley said as Zane wiped the tears brimming.
“Are you joking? You are proposing to me?” Zane asked as Harley nodded.
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Harley asked as she laughed.
“Will you marry me?” Harley asked as Zane chuckled.
“What do you mean?” Zane asked as he laughed.
“I want to say no but you can put it on my finger anyways” Zane replied as he stretched his hand towards her as Harley laughed as she slid the ring on Zane’s finger while Zane pulled her upwards.
“You already wore your own ring?” Zane asked in surprise as Harley nodded.
“How sure are you that I was going to say yes?” Zane asked as Harley chuckled.
“I trust my face” Harley replied as Zane smiled.
“I love you” Harley whispered as Zane nodded.
“I know” Zane replied as he bent his head and captured her lips with his own.
“I love you too” Zane whispered into her mouth.
The headlines the next day were funny and exciting at the same time. A lot of people were shocked and a lot of attention was casted on Harley and Zane.

“It wasn’t intentional” Dylan replied as Zane sighed.
“Get lost” Zane said as he chuckled lightly.
“Do you; Harley Madison, take Zane Wilson, as your fully wedded husband, to love, to care for, to adore, to respect, till death do you part?” the Pastor asked and by the time Harley turned to Zane, she just smiled as she turned back towards the Pastor.
“I do” Harley muttered.
“Do you; Zane Wilson, take Harley Madison, as your fully wedded wife, to love, to care for, to adore, to respect, till death do you part?” the pastor also turned to Zane and asked. Zane turned to Harley and then chuckled before facing the pastor once again.
“I do”
And that was all to seal both of their fates together forever. In the midst of chaos, they had overcome, in the midst of problems, they had stood strong and made their choices; for Harley and Zane; theirs was truly a fated one.
