CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Adrian crossed his legs on the chair as he continued playing the game on his tab. Someone knocked the door and Adrian glanced at the door and refused to reply. The person knocked again making Adrian be distracted and he lost the game. He hissed as he dropped the tab.

“Who’s that? Come in” He said as one of the bodyguards his father had stationed around him walked inside and gave a low bow.

“What is it?” he asked with irritation laced in his voice.

“Someone wants to see you” he muttered as Adrian frowned.

“Who is it?” he asked as someone stepped into the room. Adrian chuckled as he turned to the bodyguard.

“You may go” he muttered he laid back on the couch and turned to her.

“What do you want?” he asked as Selina sighed.

“Till when are you going to do this?” she asked in a small voice that seemed to be close to breaking as Adrian blinked his eyes.

“To do what?” He asked.

“Ignoring me. Pretending like you don’t care anymore” Selina replied as Adrian scoffed and burst into laughter.

“Wait, you think all these is a farce?” he asked as he stared at her before laughing again.

“You don’t mean it” he added as he chuckled again.

“Look Adrian, I know I let you down. I know I betrayed and hurt you, there are a lot of things I did to you that caused you pain. I know I hurt you badly but I’m sorry. I am very sorry. Those things I did back then; I was wrong and I admit it. I was so wrong and I hope you also realize that I had my own difficulties back then Adrian. I had no choice” Selina said as tears streamed down her cheeks as Adrian turned to her with a blank face.

“Did you just say no choice?” Adrian asked a he rose to his feet.

“No choice than to sleep with half of the male population in your school as long as they had something dangling underneath? No choice than to openly brag about how you had Adrian Fedick wrapped around your little figure and how he loved you so much? No choice than to make mockery of them when I confronted you about it? No choice than to make those gruesome posts about me, release videos of our intimate moments, moments I had believed were special and were exclusive to us only. You made fun of them. Selina, did you just say you had no choice?” Adrian asked the veins on his forehead bulging.

“You had no choice than to make fun of the pure and honest love I had for you. did you really have no choice or you did that on purpose?” Adriana sked as Selina swallowed her saliva as more tears ran down her cheeks.

“Adrian, you have to believe me. I didn’t do it on purpose; I’m sorry Adrian. I’m so sorry” Selina replied while Adrian sighed quietly.

“I don’t know what you are doing here but like I told you long ago. We are done” Adrian said as Selina grabbed his hand.

“Let’s start over again” she muttered as Adrian turned to her with a dazed look.

“Yes. Let’s start over again, I’ll be good and I’ll love with you with everything I have. Please Adrian” Selina added as Adrian scoffed as he removed his hand from her grip and walked back to the couch to seat down.

“How shameless are you going to get Selina? How low are you going to go?” Adrian asked quietly as Selina swallowed her saliva.

“Since I came back, I had barely stayed at home. I changed hotels very often and I stayed in games houses, clubs with private rooms and this one that we are in is a private room. I could easily count the amount of people who know I’m around on one hand and so very few people would even ask about me not to talk of finding me. But you Selina found me. How did you find me Selina?” Adrian asked his voice as calm and quiet as ever.

“I needed to see you, so I asked around” Selina replied in a small voice as she dropped her head.

“You are a big slut but I know you were one for the best students in your block in high school. What I said before do you really not understand or you want me to break it down for you?” Adrian asked as Selina swallowed her saliva as her eyes met the man seating down on the couch. Those eyes although looked very familiar also wasn’t familiar.

They lacked the love, the care and the worship it had always have.

Now, she really couldn’t decipher what it held.

“Still faking like we don’t know anything are we?” Adrian asked as he nodded and chuckled.

“I’ll break it down for you” Adrian muttered.

“You are now an Assistant Project Manager and you urgently need a promotion. But not just you, three of your other colleagues as well are also worthy of this promotion but only one person can be the Project Manger” Adrian started as the expression on Selina’s face changed drastically.

“Don’t wear that look yet” Adrian said as he scoffed.

“You’ve been looking for ways to try and get the position faster than the other two. Easily your body would have worked the process for you but unfortunately your boss is very strict and he wouldn’t even allow it. You had to look for alternatives and while looking for these alternatives, I came back” Adrian added as he sighed.

“Of course you had no idea I was back until you ran into me at the club. I was the perfect person to help you get the position. I, the naïve, stupid and dumb boy who loved you years ago and still hadn’t gotten over the amount of hurt you had caused him. All you had to do was to beg him and apologize, be sincere as possible. He’ll take you back and then you’ll try to be public as possible. If people were to hear that you were going out with the Adrian Fedick, the Project Manager’s position is naturally yours” Adrian said as Selina’s face paled.

“If possible, I could even also get you a project from her father to secure your position. Seeing me with Zane strengthened your resolve, going out with me would of course incur benefits from the popular WC, getting support for WC to your company wasn’t going to make you just a Project Manager, it was going to make you something very much bigger. It was the perfect plan well except you didn’t realize or take it into consideration that I was no longer the eighteen-year-old boy who was in love with you years ago. You dint think if I would be smarter, you were so sure that I would still be that idiot who believed and trusted you. I was that pathetic in your eyes, isn’t it?” Adrian asked.

“I know everything you are thinking and what is going on your head. So stop that disgusting act of yours, its sickens me” Adrian added as Selina chuckled.

“You grew up so fast and you have me all figured out now. How did you know?” Selina asked as Adrian burst into laughter.

“I’m after all the heir to my father’s company, being like this; shouldn’t it be normal?” Adrian asked as he reclined on the couch.

“You are stills shameless, you are lower than the pigs in the gutter, twice as disgusting as those worms eating up a dead body. You are still trash, you never ceased to be” Adrian said as Selina bit down on her lips fuming.

“I hoped you wouldn’t come. I hoped you wouldn’t try to find me and put up with the act. I hoped…. I hoped that maybe... that maybe there was something there that refrain you from coming but I was wrong. I was totally wrong; you are still that dastard from years before. you are still that trashy animal from before” Adrian said as he sighed.

“Before I didn’t take any act towards you because I had hoped that maybe it was all a misunderstanding but now; I won’t be that stupid to let you go scot free. I will take every single thing you have, everything. I know better than anyone that I don’t go back on my words and that what I say I will definitely do it” Adrian said.

“Adrian, don’t try anything funny” Selina said as Adrian laughed.

“Is that supposed to be a threat because I the moment you stepped in here, I already made sure to cancel every project your company is handling at the moment” Adrian said as Selina’s eyes widened as she staggered backwards.

“Don’t think I’m cruel. I still went easy on you” Adrian added as he yawned.

“I told you. everything, I’m going to take it”
