CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Amanda turned to Kayden as a small smile blossomed on her face as the latter worked. He always looked absolutely sexy on a normal day and his charm was always multiplied whenever he was working.
“Stop looking at him like that” Kayden said without glancing at her at Amanda chuckled.
“How do you know I was looking at you? It’s wrong to jump to conclusions” Amanda replied with a pout and Kayden chuckled.
“But that doesn’t apply to you because you were staring at me” Kayden replied again not still sparing Amanda a glance.
“How did you know? Is this wizardry?” Amanda asked as Kayden shrugged.
“Call it witchery or whatever you want. get your eyes off me” Kayden replied as he finally turned to her.
“I’m done with my part so it’s your turn. Make sure you complete your path” Kayden said as Amanda stood up from her chair and sat down pulling the sheet of paper towards her.
“Okay, you’ve started ding part of my part, thank you” Amanda said grinning as Kayden folded his arms.
“That’s because you just wouldn’t keep your mouth shut” Kayden replied as Amanda laughed.
“You guys won’t be singing during this time?” Amanda asked as Kayden shook his head.
“Yeah. Ryan wants to take a break and Elon as well. They need time and they need a break” Kayden replied as Amanda nodded.
“Figures. What about you?” Amanda asked as Kayden raised an eyebrow.
“Me? Why are you asking about me? Ryan and Elon are your favourites and I already explained to you” Kayden replied as Amanda turned to him. She seemed to have read another tone in the way Kayden had spoken. Like he was jealous but another look at his blank exquisite face told her it was impossible.
“They are my favourites but that doesn’t mean I can’t ask about you too. So tell me, what about you? Are you preparing for a solo?” Amanda asked and Kayden swallowed his saliva and nodded.
“I still haven’t found the inspiration I need I’ve starting writing my lyrics” Kayden replied as Amanda turned to him with excitement in her eyes.
“Really?” she asked as Kayden frowned at her excited face.
“Yeah. I would soon start recording” Kayden replied as Amanda smiled.
“Can I come?” she asked as Kayden raised an eyebrow.
“Come to watch me?” Kayden asked and Amanda nodded.
‘Yeah” she replied as Kayden folded his arms as he hitched closer to the girl whose eyes remained trained on him.
“Why? What do you want to do?” he asked as Amanda swallowed her saliva while trying to sound normal.
“I want to watch you, what’s so suspicious about that? We are friends or are we not? So why can’t I watch you?” Amanda asked as Kayden shrugged his shoulders without saying.
“What kind of song are you going for this time around?” Amanda asked as Kayden turned to her again.
“I went to download your last solo song and damn…... I felt like I could go crazy with the lyrics and beat. You surprisingly have a better hand over Ryan in beats. My ear drums must have had their fill of the song by now, it has been on replay for days” Amanda said as she chuckled.
“Even Zane is getting tired of it” Amanda added as he suddenly went quiet after realizing what she had said.
“Zane? Who’s that?” Kayden asked as Amanda coughed lightly.
“My elder brother” Amanda replied as Kayden nodded.
“You sure were named very nicely in your family” Kayden said as Amanda nodded while trying to wear a small smile.
“How about your parents?” Kayden asked as Amanda chuckled.
“Dead” she replied in a monotone as Kayden went quiet while Amanda turned to him.
“Surprised?” she asked as she chuckled.
“Don’t look at me like that, it’s been a long time” Amanda added as Kayden swallowed his saliva.
“Doesn’t change a thing. Doesn’t change the pain that comes with remembering them” Kayden said as Amanda turned to him and smiled lightly.
“I know right” Amanda said as she dropped her head.
“It’s been over fourteen years and each time; I …….” Amanda said as she turned to meet Kayden’s eyes.
“Its’s ends up looking like it happened just yesterday” Amanda added as she sighed and smiled.
“Want a hug?” Kayden suddenly asked as Amanda turned to him. Without replying, she stood up and walked towards him, Kayden rose to his feet and opened his arms as Amanda walked towards him and hugged him wrapping her hands around his waist. She placed her head on his chest as Kayden rubbed the back of her head running his hands in her hair.
“You’ll be fine” he whispered as Amanda hugged him tightly.
“So who do you stay with?” Kayden asked as Amanda wore a small smile.
“I and my elder brother stay together” Amanda replied as Kayden nodded.
“Zane right? That’s his name right?” Kayden asked as Amanda swallowed her saliva and nodded.
“That’s nice” Kayden said as Amanda smiled.
“He’s the best brother ever” Amanda muttered as Kayden smiled.
“Okay. We’ll finish up tomorrow” Kayden said and Amanda nodded.
“You are going home right now?” Amanda asked and Kayden shook his head.
“I’m going to check up on the other and when they are done, the company car would pick us all” Kayden replied as Amanda nodded.
“Okay. See you tomorrow” Amanda said as she waved and Kayden waved back at her before walking away.
Drew glanced at the sheet of paper and then at Elon who was watching God knows what on his phone. His cheeks were tinted red but he wasn’t saying anything.
“When did you finish this part? You didn’t tell me you had finished it” Drew said as he realized Elon probably didn’t hear what he was saying. He rolled his eyes as he stuck out his legs and kicked the stool Elon was seating down. Having forgotten to hold in his force, one of the legs of the stool broke and Elon came stumbling towards him and fell on him.
“Holy motherfucking Mary” Drew mumbled as he rubbed the back of his head and turned to glare at Elon who was still on him.
“Why did you have to kick the stool?” Elon asked as Drew glared harder at him.
“You weren’t listening to whatever I was saying. God knows what you were watching, you were so carried away that no matter how many times I said it, you weren’t listening” Drew replied as Elon nodded.
“Sorry about that” he murmured as he attempted to stand up and left back and his lips came in contact with Drew’s and the both of them stared at each other with blank faces.
“Get off me” Drew said as Elon winced.
“I don’t think I can. I think I sprained my ankle” Elon said as Drew’s eyes widened as he tried to stand up.
“Holy shit” Drew said as soon as he saw Elon’s leg. it had been twisted to the back. No one needed to tell him that Elon needed medical attention.
“Your leg is broken” Drew said as Elon’s eyes widened.
“Ehn?” he asked as Drew carried him in one swoop and Elon stared at Drew for a moment.
“How much do you work out?” he asked as Drew stopped for a moment.
“Every day, that much” he replied as he grabbed his phone and dialled 911.
Amanda glanced at Drew and shook her head “How many times have I told in to hold in that terrifying strength of yours?” she asked as Drew turned to her.
“I forgot myself for a moment okay, stop making it sound like I almost killed him” Drew replied as Amanda pouted.
“He’s a celebrity okay? What do you think will happen if his fans got a wind of this?” Amanda asked as Drew shrugged.
“It’s not like they can beat me” Drew replied as Ryan burst into laughter.
“At least we don’t have any activities for now. Only Kayden has, if not it wouldn’t be good” Ryan said as Drew swallowed his saliva.
“I’m sorry. I’ll take it into serious consideration next time” Drew replied as Ryan nodded.
“You guys can go home, it’s getting late. I’ll stay” Drew said as Amanda raised her eyebrows.
“You’ll stay with him?” Cameron asked and Drew nodded.
“Wow. Thank you” she said as Drew smiled lightly.
“Come here” Amanda said as she dragged Drew to another side of the room.
“Don’t you dare make a move on him okay” Amanda said as Drew rolled his eyes.
“Why would I do that?” Drew asked as he chuckled.
“If he swings that way, why can’t I?” Drew asked again as Amanda hissed.
‘There are CCTV cameras in this room. You didn’t forget that right?” Amanda replied as Drew smacked her at the back of her head.
“Get lost” he said as Amanda burst into laughter.
“I’ll be watching” she said as she winked at Drew.
