Chapter Twelve

Chapter Twelve
Serena's Pov

“I was just in the lounge when he came to meet me and, after complimenting me, he made me realize that he knows you and he seems to be your fan, because most of our conversations were based on you,” I explained to Adrien.

When I explained this to him, he then calmed down and paced around for a while.

“I'm sorry, Serena. "I don't know what got into me.” He apologized, and I let out a sigh and moved closer to him.

“It's fine. "Every man would act that way for his woman,” I said to him, referring to the fact that we had to maintain an engaged status outside.

Then I noticed he had a package in his hands.

“Is that for me?” I asked with a tease.

He chuckled and handed it over to me.

“Yes, it is.” He responded with a smile.

I opened the package and gasped in surprise as I saw the contents.

“Oh, my. "They're all pretty,” I said, feeling so happy with all that he brought to me. “Thanks so much.” I appreciated him and hugged him so tightly.

“You're welcome. We should go on a date tomorrow, probably after our meeting.”

“Sure, that's fine.”

Throughout that night, we decided to stay together in the same room, talking about a few things until we slept off in each other's arms.

~

The next day, we had prepared ourselves for the meeting we were to have with the CEOs and the best thing about it was that we didn't need to drive around to get to the place of meeting.

It was right at the hotel we were staying at. They had a private restaurant, so that was where we were going to have our meeting.

“Ready?” Adrien asked me.

“Yes, I am.” I responded eagerly.

Then we stepped out of the room and headed to the private restaurant which wasn't on this floor.

On getting to the restaurant, we met some of them already seated, and we all exchanged pleasantries and Adrien did well to introduce me as his fiancée.

“There are just two people left. "They should be here anytime soon.” One of the men said to us and we nodded.

Not long after he informed us, the door opened, and we raised our heads to look at the people who came in.

Finally, the time we had been waiting for was here. Wasn't so much a fan of having to wait for so long without knowing when something was meant to start. But now that they were here, I believed all the waiting would be worth it.

But little did I know that there was a shocking surprise awaiting me through that door.

To my greatest shock, the people that had just walked in was Simon, and the lady we met at the restaurant last night.

Could the two of them really be the ones we were waiting for, all along?

Adrien's Pov

It was quite surprising to see these people who we had met earlier, here, but then, I had to act like all was well. Besides, it wasn't like I acted badly to them personally.

“We're sorry for getting here a little late. "I believe we can all start now,” the man said with a smile on his face.

“Yeah, sure,” the others said.

We all re-introduced ourselves again and got into business.

“So, what business are we talking about here?” Mr. Simon asked, looking ready for official talks.

“About the fashion industry. We've got to brainstorm to bring about something really nice that would blow the mind of everyone in society.” One of the businessmen spoke.

“Most times, when I want to bring about a new product, what I do is to look at what others have done recently, then I tell our mastermind in the company to also do some research about what seems to be the current needs of people. Sales always turn out well once we do that.”

“I see. That's really nice. Okay, regarding mine, we use the perfect models for our fashion, then also put the products in a good light to make people yearn to get them.” Another shared.

So they shared on and on until it was time for us to share ours. Actually, my trade secret is simply something they really don't need to know. I wasn't ready to share that because I was just testing the waters in the fashion business and wasn't ready to fall so soon.

~flashback~

“So, have you found a trade secret I can give to them when they ask?” I asked Ethan when he walked into my office.

“Yes, boss. When they're all sharing theirs, just tell them that all you do is drive around sometimes and observe society, then an idea will certainly come. "And then your father investors who are interested in hearing new ideas, then they invest in you, and you get a lot of profits.” Ethan said to me and I nodded.

~back to reality~

That was a pretty good idea from him. If he hadn't brought up this, maybe by now, I would be short of words to say or might even think of something that might not be convincing enough.

When I looked at them again, I realized that they were all waiting for me to speak, so I cleared my throat and told them just exactly what Ethan advised me to tell them, and they applauded as well.

After the main discussion, I stayed back to talk with some of the businessmen and, so far, they seemed to be enjoying my presence, and we were all syncing so well on ideas and goals, desires, etc. That I never felt different from them in any way.

I also glanced at Serena at some point to be certain that she was okay, and wasn't feeling so left out in the meetings. After all, it would require both our involvement to make our plans work out as they should.
