DISGUSTING
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
DIANA
"Hahaha...you've been sitting quietly the whole time, why don't you come have some fun with me? I will show you how to have a good time...."
I could see Diego standing up from the corner of my eye as the drunk bastard continued to hold on to me.
The last thing that I wanted was a scene here and so I stood up, pushing him awar from me in the process.
"I have to use the bathroom," I said and made my way out of the crowded room.
Although Dylan was a bastard, the land that he wanted to sell was important to both Chris and Diego, that was why he was acting like this.
I didn't want to ruin either of their chances to get the land.
Inside the bathroom, I leaned by the sink as I tried to calm myself down.
I would need to go back to the room soon, and so I nodded to be alert to deal with all of those idiots.
The door was pushed open, and since I thought it was another woman wanting to use the bathroom, I was not bothered.
However, I saw a familiar figure leaning on the bathroom wall from the mirror in front of me.
I turned to face him immediately.
"What the heck are you doing here?" I snapped at Dylan.
He shrugged, a smile on his face. It was obvious that he was drunk, and I so badly wanted to slap him a few times to wake him up.
"You know, Diana, I never thought that I would see your face again. I thought you hated me, and that you would never appear in front of me again," Dylan mused.
He approached me, and reached out a hand to touch my face, however, I just moved away from him.
"Don't touch me! I still hate you, so don't be mistaken about that!" I warned him.
Dylan laughed, if he was sober, and if this was a few months ago, while I was still stuck living as his brother's widow, I was sure that my words would have earned me a few slaps on my face.
"You hate me? Actually, Astrid, I don't know what I have done to make you hate me so much. As long as you were willing to cooperate back than, things would have been a lot easier. You could have continued living the life you lived when James was alive, what was so wrong about that?" Dylan aled me.
He was looking at me like I was the one who did something wrong, like I betrayed him greatly, and it made me want to throw up.
"What makes you think that I wanted to continue living there after James died?"I sneered at him.
I did not believe for once that Dylan did not know that his brother was abusing me.
His mother was well aware of what her son was doing, however, she did not care. As for Dylan.... I did not believe that he was so blind that he knew nothing, considering the fact that he started abusing me as soon as James died!
"What is so wrong about living as James wife?! Don't you dare pretend like you weren't the most envied woman in all of this city! He loved you! He worshiped the ground that you walked on! He didn't hesitate to let everyone know that his wife was the love of his life, and yet you wanted to live as soon as he died. How could you be so cruel?" Dylan asked me, anger in his eyes.
I breathed heavily. I had never attempted to explain myself, neither did I want to explain myself.
If everyone thought that I was a terrible woman for walking away from my husband, then I was more than willing to let them continue to think that way.
It was a whole lot better than being forced to pretend like I was a happy widow.
"Just take it that I am a cruel woman. I wanted nothing to do with your family back then, and I still want nothing to do with the whole lot of you now. If you know what's good for you, leave me alone," I warned him.
I attempted to walk away, however, Dylan grabbed me back and pulled me closer to himself.
Our bodies were touching now, and it made me want to throw up so bad.
How dare he touch me!
"Let go of me!" I screamed in his face.
"You know, the offer that I gave you back then still stands. As long as you are willing, I'll treat you better than my brother treated you. I don't care what anyone else says. I have always liked you, but James was faster and he married you before anyone knew what was going on. As long as you ... "
Dylan was still talking when I slapped him hard on his face.
"How dare you?!" I barked at him.
My eyes were red as I remembered the proposal that he had made to me just a few days after his brother died.
He came to me and told me that he and his mother planned to kick me out, but as long as I was willing to be his mistress, he would let me continue to live as James widow.
Of course, I said no, and I had slapped him back then. Because his pride was hurt, he had locked me up for months and tortured me, thinking that I would give in.
I didn't give in back then, what made Dylan think that I would give in now?
Dylan held his face as he stared at me in shock, as if he could not believe that I had slapped him.
"There is definitely more where that comes from, and so you had better stay away from me from now on," I warned him.
"You are a disgusting animal, trying to sleep with your brother's wife as soon as he passed away! You may not have any shame, but I do!"
