Chapter 25 you are you
Anaya’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“Why did you stand up? You should be resting.” He grumbled angrily, but his heart was now racing beneath my ear.
“Calm down, love. Tell me, why are you this angry?” I heard Theo coaxing Willow in a low and worried voice.
“She barged in here and insulted our Luna. She even insulted me.” Willow screamed angrily, but I raised my brow in surprise.
“It…. It’s not like that. This ….. this human.” Bethany tried to speak, but one roar from Lucifer silenced everyone.
“She is your Luna, Bethany. Say one more word in insult and see what I do to you.”
Bethany’s eyes widened in shock, but I narrowed my eyes when I saw hurt in her eyes.
“Is she one of your wores?” I asked Lucifer angrily, looking up to see his face.
He didn’t answer, but the way his jaw clenched, it wasn’t hard to guess.
I chuckled bitterly and tried to push him away, but he tightened his grip on my body.
“She was just a fling. I took an oath that you would be the last woman in my life. Between her and me, it was just a sxual transaction in the past. Nothing more than that. She has no significance in my life.” He spoke in a low and calm voice.
I felt a tightness in my chest, but I had to agree with him here.
He locked his gaze with me while talking to me.
I could see the calmness and sincerity in his gaze.
“And yet she is here, berating me for being human,” I remarked sarcastically.
“Alpha!” Bethany gasped painfully.
He had the same set of eyes as Vincent. Yet, I didn’t feel as if I were looking at Vincent.
I saw the same calmness and gentleness that I always saw in Vincent’s eyes, but I still know in my heart that person with these eyes isn’t Vincent.
It’s Lucifer, my mate.
Suddenly, I felt exhausted again.
“Leave this to me. No one can go unscathed after insulting you.” He spoke in the same gentle but firm tone and slowly moved my face on his chest again.
I didn’t fight. I put my face on his chest and closed my eyes.
Lucifer’s P.O.V.
Bethany Wilson…..
A warrior wolf with high ambition. She had been my bed partner for more than six months. She was the only she-wolf who stayed with me for so long, but I never promised her anything.
I had no emotional attachment to her, just a seual transaction.
Willow complained so many times about Bethany’s arrogant behavior, but I didn’t pay attention to that, believing that Willow could take care of Bethany on its own.
Now I regretted my ignorance.
I would have kept her in her place.
“You take care of our Luna, Alpha,” Theo instructed me sternly.
I grimaced while staring at Bethany coldly.
Beast was still weak, but he was also growling, ready to kill Bethany at any time.
Bethany was now looking at me pleadingly, but I moved my gaze indifferently and slowly walked towards the bed again.
Anaya was still in her bathrobe, and I could feel that she wasn’t wearing anything else beneath it.
Theo was mated, and he loves Willow more than his life. Yet I didn’t want anyone to look at Anaya in this state.
“I need my phone and laptop,” Anaya whispered tiredly.
“I sent my delta, Nathan, to your place yesterday to get your stuff. Your friends are very protective of you.” I replied to her calmly and made her sit on the edge of the bed.
“Alpha, you can’t do this to me. She is not worthy of you.” Bethany screamed at the top of her lungs to get my attention.
“Throw her to the dungeons, Theo. She disrespected both her Luna and her beta.” I roared, unable to contain my fury anymore.
Anaya immediately tightened her grip on my arms that she had held earlier to keep her steady when I slowly put her on the bed.
“You can’t do this to me, Alpha. You promised me th.”
“When did I ever make any promise to you, Beth?” I roared, cutting off her screaming mid-sentence.
Bethany stared at me with wide eyes, shock, disbelief, and hurt evident in her voice.
“Take her away, Theo.” I roared at Theo when no one moved from their spots.
“O… okay.” Theo spoke while stammering a little.
I looked down at Anaya, who was still leaning on my stomach.
My anger vanished when I felt her tiredness.
“Anaya,” I called to her softly, slowly leaning in her direction.
“I am going to bring some food for both of you. She is still weak, an… and I think that she just used her strength to suppress Bethany.” Willow spoke to me worriedly.
I pulled the sheet to cover her and slowly moved her body on the bed to give her a comfortable position.
“No…. I don’t want to go. Alpha….. Alpha…. Have some mercy. Alpha.” Bethany screamed at the top of her lungs when Theo started dragging her out of the room.
“Tape her mouth.” I groaned in irritation while giving Anaya a comfortable lying position on the bed.
Her face was now pale, and it was clear on her face that she was uncomfortable and irritated by Bethany’s presence in the room.
I didn’t know why I wanted her to be comfortable and happy with me, not gloomy and troubled all the time.
Theo and Willow dragged Bethany away and closed the door after exiting the room.
Finally, there is some peace in the room. After covering her with the sheet to her chest, I sat down on the bed beside her waist.
“How many more will come after me?” she asked me tiredly; her eyes were still closed.
“This is the first and the last time that you suffered this. No one will come to bother you again. This …. This is ….I am sorry.” I apologized sincerely because I should have taken care of this earlier.
“Nah…. Don’t be bothered by this. We both have a past. We need to make sure that it doesn’t affect our present and future.” She replied nonchalantly, tiredness evident in her voice.
I stiffened when I remembered that she also had someone in her life before.
But he is dead.
It’s not like he would come to bother me as a ghost, but my face…..
His ghost would always be between us all the time.
“Yeah. You are right.” I mumbled absentmindedly and took a deep breath.
“Can you pass me those clothes?” she asked me while slowly opening her eyes.
I looked on the other side of the bed and saw a bunch of clothes there.
I was about to stand up when she held my hand, making me look at her questioningly.
“You are you, Lucifer.” She spoke calmly, but my heart skipped a beat.
She raised her hand and placed it on my chest, right over my heart.
My heart was now beating a little faster in anticipation.
I didn’t know what I was expecting, but I wanted her to clarify her statement.
