Chapter 25: Contingencies

Aurellio "It would seem that our plans have changed from what you were expecting. What is your plan now?" Lorenzo turned to me as he drove the car. We had left the compound a little over four hours ago and we had just received word that the wolves had finally shown up. They had taken Elinn back with them, back to their pack with all those warriors running beside them. "Are you sure that my plans have gone astray. My little pet has spent the last two months being reprogrammed, you think that will just disappear? You think that her seeing her mates face is going to undo eight weeks of hard reprogramming?" I started laughing which caused Lorenzo to glance over at me confused. "What are you talking about? It won't take them long to figure out what we've done to her. When they realize what we did they will be able to work on reversing the effects." I smiled amusedly at exactly how much Lorenzo didn't know about my plans. Not even my closest lieutenant could know what I was planning, not if I wanted to succeed. "My friend, do you really doubt me so? You think that I hadn't thought of that? What kind of plan would it be if I didn't plan for the counter attacks? With the type of brainwashing we have done it will take them some time to even get the girl to a spot where she can those we used without having fits. Then they have to get her to a point where they can talk and then where they can touch. It is going to take them far longer to undo what I've done then it took for me to actually do it. Add on all the trauma she's been through in the past and how opposed she is too trusting people and it will take several months for them to even get her functioning again." The intricacies of the plan were what really insured that things were going to go the way that I wanted them to go. "But what happens after that, she will once again be loyal to them. Then we are back to square one and we will still be without the missing piece of our puzzle." Lorenzo pointed out but I had accounted for that as well. "I implanted words into her subconscious ones that I would repeatedly use when doing one specific thing. If anyone says one of them they will either find themselves with a sniveling mess of a girl or one who will be doing her best to separate their heads from their bodies. That is if they get the others to live that far into this whole thing." Once again confusion followed my words. "You think I would send our greatest resource in without any weapons. I'll give you that all she's really got is her bare hands but with the strength of her wolf and that demon scum she will do some damage." "You've lost me, what the hell are you talking about." I sighed. The small-mindedness of those around me was beginning to irritate me beyond belief. "She believes that the people who have currently rescued her have been hurting her. Now tell me what would you do if faced with someone who had spent so long trying to tear you to shreds. I don't know about you but I think I'd be pretty upset about that, upset enough to kill them. Especially if I believe it is the only way to stay alive." He seemed to be thinking through exactly what he would do if someone were to do that kind of thing to him. "So you're telling me that it was part of the plan to have them take her back?" "Not necessarily, it was a precaution in case that ever happened. And with the appearance of her new little demon friend I knew that I was going to have to take a break from my pet. Let our enemies figure out how to deal with the thing, we will sit back and wait. Soon all the pieces will fall into place and the white queen will find herself more than willing to switch sides."
