Chapter 92 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 92 Untitled Chapter
GIANNA

His eyes narrowed as he waltzed towards us, Benji on his heels, yelling.

“You shot her. You fucking killed Vera,” he cried.

“Of course you idiot, she would have fucking shot me if I had given her the chance,” Colton replied, momentarily distracted, turning his back on Aunt Layla and Tessa.

“She was my girlfriend, and you…you just killed her. You kill them all.”

“Fucking pull yourself together Benji! Colton yelled. “She wasn't your girlfriend, just a whore you fuck around with. And with the money we now have you can get hundreds of bitches like her.”

He slaps him around the back, grinning. I didn't know which was worse between his grin and anger.

“We are fucking rich Benji, forget about her.” Benji nodded, starting to forget the sudden death of Vera at the reminder that he was now rich. Or maybe he had no choice but to go along with Colton for fear of his own life.

“Watch out…” Benji started, but he was already too late as Aunt Layla slammed the chair she had been tied to earlier on Colton’s head, then she did it again until he was flat on the ground.

Tessa smashed a bottle on Benji who went to grab Aunt Layla. Both of them went down, Tessa threw the beer bottle she had hit Benji with.

Chloe and I helped Grams up and ran towards the entrance of the warehouse. Tessa was right behind us.

“Layla, you stupid bitch,” Colton groans in rage, his hand trying to grab Aunt Layla’s feet. She stumped his hand and started to run, we were almost outside. Just a couple more feets and we'll be free.

I could see the snow falling and… two vehicles, one of which was our car. Hope surged inside me.

I turned around to see Tessa with Aunt Layla behind her, both of them running to catch up with us, and then we suddenly heard it.

A gunshot.

“Fucking bitch!” Colton swore as he limped over and stood over a pale Layla. My heart thunders in fear.

“Aunty,” we screamed at the same time, me and Chloe.

“Layla!” Grams choked out in utter terror. She'd stopped running and was trying to go back. I push her forward towards Chloe.

“No Grams,” I cried. “Chloe, Tessa get Grams out of here. I will follow you shortly with aunt Layla. Go now.” I yelled.

“Wait, Gianna!” Chloe yelled back, but I was already running back inside. My heart thumping with fear.

Colton was on one of the chairs, Aunt Layla on the ground, holding the side of her stomach with blood-soaked hands.

Benji was standing over her; he had a nasty gash on his bald head that was bleeding, and both of them were holding a gun.

Though Benji looked completely out of it. All this I notice as I walk slowly towards my deranged ex-fiance. I stopped a few feet away from him.

“I told you she would come back, didn't I?” Colton said, grinning with triumph.

“You stupid girl,” Aunt Layla panted, grimacing. Tears sprang to my eyes as I saw the patch on her shirt had gotten bigger. She would bleed out soon if she didn't get any help.

“Let her go, Colton; you already have all you want,” I said calmly. He shakes his head.

“Not all,” he said as he stood up and started moving towards me.

“There's still one thing I need to do.” My heart hammered as every instinct I had said I should run as far as I could away from this madman, but I couldn't leave my brave auntie to die because of me. This was my fault; Colton was here because of me; he came into our lives because of me.

“What?” I whispered shakily as he stopped before me, his mangled face looking down on mine. He grabs my chin and grins evilly.

“I kept tabs on you and your family, you know after I came out of jail,” he said, grinning as though we were catching up.

“You didn't know. Of course, you all went around with your lives, living your posh lives without a care that you had destroyed mine.” that rage was back on his face.

“Do you have any idea how it feels to look into the mirror and not recognize the monster you've become?” he asked. I swallow hard, glancing back at the only exit, and then I glance at Aunt Layla, who is now looking so pale, and I know I can't leave.

“I know Gigi. I know how it feels and soon you will too.”

“Colton, that wasn't my..” I started walking backward as he neared.

“But it was your fault, you and your family. If your grandmother hadn't found evidence against me, I wouldn't have gone to jail,” he sneered.

He was beyond reason and it was already too late for me to run. I was beyond terrified when he yanked me by the arm and started dragging me toward the burn barrel. My eyes widened with horror as realization hit.

“No, Colton please,” I screamed. “Let me go!” I kicked, bit, and scratched him as he dragged me closer to the flames; his hands yanking at my hair so hard tears fell down my cheeks as I screamed even louder.

But there was no mercy in his eyes, only evil determination. He grunted as I raked my nails down his neck, his grip tightened.

“Damn you Colton, let her go you monster,” Aunt Layla choked out, trying to get up but failing.

“I will come back to you bitch, I'm not done with you yet,” he threatened then laughed as I screamed and fought him.

“Burn you bitch,” he said and went to force my face into the burning flames; heat scalded my hand as I tried to resist, pushing at the barrel, the other hand scratching at the hand holding my hair so tightly and trying to force my head into the fire.
