Chapter 100 Untitled Chapter
Chapter 100 Untitled Chapter
GIANNA
“Hello Gianna,” his said in that husky voice, his lips curling in that familiar, charming smile that made butterflies take flight in the pit of my stomach.
“Why…? How are you even here?” I asked, bewildered, when I finally forced my mouth to move instead of gaping open like a fish.
“Aren't you going to invite me in?” Jax said, arching his brow. I blinked and bit my lip as I contemplated the wisdom of inviting this blatant threat to my senses and body inside my home; I swallowed and moved away from the door to let him in.
I shut the door slowly, taking a few seconds to compose myself. Jax didn't linger at the door. He walked in like he owned the place.
“Beautiful place,” he said, taking everything in for a few seconds before turning around to face me, his gray eyes running appreciatively over my body with a look I know all too well. My nipples instantly hardened to little points. I was suddenly so nervous.
Meeting him like this, on my turf, not as their captive, and without the worry of what happened weeks ago weighing me down, it was nerve-wracking and different; I didn't know how to explain it.
I know this man biblically and have felt him moving inside me more times than I care to count, and yet it was like it was my first time meeting him.
But the chemistry was the same. It was instantaneous. It was like oxygen infiltrating my senses and making my body automatically come to life, heating me from the inside out.
“Thank you,” I said, walking to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, I was suddenly so thirsty.
I could hear him following me slowly; I didn't turn as I twisted the cap and gulped down almost half of the bottle before I put the cap on and placed the bottle on the counter.
“You still haven't answered my question, Jax.” He grinned at me, taking another step closer.
I swallow and bolt towards the living room, scared he would touch me once and I would forget everything that needed to be said. Jax chuckled, tilting his head, his eyes dancing with amusement.
“Are you running from me?”
“Why would I run from you?” I retort, shifting on my feet.
“Beats me. Well, I was in the neighborhood and decided to drop by,” he said, grinning.
“Who told you I live here?” I asked, again.
“A friend of mine,” he replied with a shrug.
“What friend? And how did he even know me?” I asked with scrunched brows.
“I don't think that's necessary for you to know; I don't want to give away my sources,” he said, moving towards me.
“I only just arrived here last night. I haven't been anywhere, and the only people who know where to find me, the only people I know in the city are my family and friends.”
And LuX manager, but he didn't need to know that.
“So it's either them or you're stalking me. Are you stalking me, Jax?” I asked with an arched brow. He grinned.
“What if I am? What if I miss you so much, I couldn't stay away,” I didn't know when he covered the distance between us, but suddenly he was so close I could feel his heat. His tall and broad body towering over me, I swallow and glance up at him.
“You miss me?” I whispered; his eyes were so intense, staring down at me with something that took my breath away.
“Aren't you going to ask me to sit down?” I tucked my hair back as I glanced at the couch behind me.
“Do you want to sit?”
“No, I want to stand close to you,” he said. He still didn't make a move to touch me.
“I told you to give me time Jax.” I glanced away from his eyes, not sure I would be able to say what I needed to say looking at him in those silver orbs.
“I tried Gianna, but I couldn't take it anymore. I need to see you. I need to tell you,” he replied softly, turning my gaze to him.
“Tell me what?” I whispered gulping.
“That I love you.” A small gasp left my lips. He swallowed and smiled nervously.
“First time in my life I want to chase a woman to the end of the world. Doesn't that tell you how much you mean to me? I don't want to waste time living without you or to lose you now that I have found you,” he murmured, holding my gaze, his gray eyes so intense they were like liquid silver.
“Can you honestly tell me that you don't love me too?” I
My heart hammered wildly like African drums. I wanted so badly to tell him how I felt, but I didn't want him to reject me.
What I want is something impossible. I mean, how do I explain something like that to him? How do I tell him that I not only love him but…
“I don't feel the same,” I lied and waited for lightning to strike me. He shakes his head with denial.
“Look me in the eyes and say that to me again.” He grabbed my chin so I could stare him in the eyes as he waited for me to lie to him again. For me to lie to him that I haven't been dreaming and pining over them. Over him, God helped me but I couldn't.
“Just as I thought. I also know you love Dane,” he said, with a self-satisfied smile.
“I, Jax…” I licked my lips because I couldn't even deny it.
“I don't mind that you love him. As long as I have you in my life, I don't mind sharing you, Gianna. To be honest, I came here for me as much as for him; I want him to have you as I have you, but only him, you, and I. Just us three. I want us to be a family and build something rare and beautiful. Together.”
Happiness bursts inside me almost instantly, but there's still one thing.
“Please say something,” he growled.
“What about your escorting job?” I asked.
God help him if he thinks I'm going to agree to share him with his clients because I can't, which somehow made me feel like a hypocrite. But I know it's not the same dammit.
I kept my expression blank as I waited for the answer that would make or break us. My fear and anxiety level at that moment was shooting through the roof.
“I already quit, so did Dane,” he said, grinning; I couldn't hold onto my cold expression; I tried to hide my smile but failed big time, which made him chuckle. He grabbed my hips, pulled me closer, and stole a long, body-melting kiss that instantly heated my blood.
“You're our last client, the only woman I want to touch, kiss, and worship every hour of every day and night,” he whispered hotly when we parted, peppering kisses over my face, neck, and shoulders before capturing my lips again.
