Chapter Eighteen
They both spent their next week in Paris visiting many places, and she occasionally encountered Louis. Which was awkward because of the hate Noah had developed for him.
There was a time during the last few days that Ava could never forget when she had stubbed her toes and Louis carried her.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed as her toe hit the wooden table outside the restaurant.
She had gone back in because he had forgotten her purse while Noah waited for her in the parking lot. She knew how impatient Noah could be, so she hurried to meet him.
"Hey, are you okay?" Louis' voice filled her ears as she held her toe in pain.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I just stubbed my toe. That's all," she said as she squinted her eyes.
"But where's Noah? I thought you came with him?" he said as he supported her with his arms.
"He is in the lot. Can you get him for me? Please," she pleaded as she closed her eyes due to the pain.
And before she could think twice, he raised her up bridal style. And she had no choice but to hang on to him as he carried her in the direction of Noah.
Noah's eyes burned with fury as he saw his girlfriend being carried by another man. He was one wrong touch away from bringing out his gun and shooting him right there, but he kept his cool because it was his girlfriend's friend.
"Before you send assassins to murder me in the night, she injured herself. That is why I lifted her up. Here's your girlfriend," he said as he handed her over to him like they were passing a bottle of wine.
"I'm human, remember?" she whined as she moved her hands around his neck.
"Do us a favor and get the door," Noah commanded. Louis parted his lips to say something, but Ava rushed to speak before he could.
"Please! Get the door."
Noah glared at her. It was very obvious Noah wanted to put up a fight, but again, Ava was there to save the day.
"Why do I feel as if he is following us around?" Noah asked as they entered the car.
"Why would he, Noah? Stop being childish," she scolded him.
"But I think he is up to something. Why would he be living in China?" he said as he squeezed his forehead in confusion.
"He probably has his reasons. Besides, why are you thinking of Louis now of all times?" Ava defended.
"Well, you should know he's just being nice to you because he likes you," Noah Informed.
"Okay, now you're being despicable," she replied with a chuckle.
"One day, you will believe what I'm telling you," he said before he looked outside the car's window.
"Yeah right," she said as she rolled her eyes.
"Are you sure he's not a drug dealer?" Noah questioned again as they got closer to the hotel. "I mean, you said it yourself: he might be doing something illegal," he added.
"I don't know for sure because he never stayed in one place. He was always partying or out of the states," Ava said as she shrugged.
The driver stopped the car and dropped them in front of the apartment. He was going to lift her up, but she objected to the idea.
"I'm fine already," she said as she stood outside of the car.
"Oh, but you let the lover boy lift you up," he said before he walked out on her.
"I love youuu," she called after him as he walked inside.
She climbed on his back as soon as she entered the room. He laid with his stomach on his bed, leaving his back open to be mounted.
"I love you," she whispered in his ear.
He turned around with her still on his body, and she sat on his lower abdomen.
He placed his hands on both her thighs and lifted himself up to kiss her, but she swerved away from his kiss and gave a tiny laugh.
He tried again, and she swerved again. So it turned into a tickle fight.
"Are you going to swerve again?" he asked as he tickled her continuously.
"No!" she screamed at the top of her lungs in laughter. "I promise I won't," she said again.
He leaned down to her level as he pinned both of her hands to the side of her head.
She felt his lips come closer to her face, and she turned it in the other direction, so he attacked her neck.
She screamed in excitement and laughter. His hands tickled her waist, and his lips worked thier way across her body. After a few minutes, he let go of her and dropped beside her on the bed.
"Tomorrow is our last day in Paris. Where do you wanna go?" he asked her as she looked up at the ceiling.
"I don't know," she said as she turned her head to look at him. "It has been my treat all along. You can call the shots now," she said as she smiled and moved her head on his chest.
His heartbeat always increased the moment she placed her head on his chest.
"What if I want to go to the strippers club?" He smirked.
"Then I'll go to the male strip club." She smirked back at him.
"Should we visit the Love Valley then?" he suggested.
"Where is that? I have never heard of it?" she asked.
"It's in an old abandoned town in Paris. My mother visited there once, and she got pregnant with me three weeks later," he said.
"Okay, we can go there," Ava said as she slowly dipped her hands under his shirt, grabbed his nipples, and pinched them.
"Ouch. Why did you do that?" he asked with a frown on his face.
"I just wanted you to know what it felt like when you pinch hard," she said as she sat up.
She felt his hands grab her and pull her back on the bed as he aimed for the two cushions that were well kept in her bra.
"Let's go have our bath," he said as he finished harassing her with his lips.
LOVE VALLEY, the name repeated itself in Ava's head as her feet felt the soft fluffiness of the surrounding flowers. In order to enjoy the environment, she took off her footwear. So did Noah. Then the entire town was filled with different types of flowers. If she'd been told it was the garden of Eden, she would have believed it because the area was beautiful.
"But why did people leave this place?" she asked Noah, flabbergasted by the absence of human presence.
"Do you know why this place is beautiful?" he asked, and she shook her head. "Then kiss me first," he said with a smile of mischief. She dragged him by the collar and kissed his lips.
"Happy?" she asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, I'm satisfied," he said as he added another kiss to her cheek. "This valley represents what Earth would be like If there were no living beings. The land would be at peace and would grow to its fullest. It is called Love Valley because the soil, seed, and the earth are working together in love and harmony. That is why it is able to produce such beautiful flowers," he narrated.
"Now, if humans could live like this, that means the world would be a better place," Ava concluded.
"I love you because you're smart too," Noah said to her with a soft peck to her face.
"So if I wasn't smart, you would not like me?" she asked, pretending to be angry. "I hate you, Noah," she said as she walked away, expecting him to follow her, but he didn't.
"Noah, why can't you play along?" she whined as he stood in his spot with a grin.
And she walked away, annoyed by his incompetence. She stood with her back to him, and she saw a red rose in front of her as she crossed her arms.
She knocked it out of his hands and put her nose up. Then she felt herself being lifted off the ground. And she was carried away. She yelled at him to let her go.
He placed her in the middle of a Chrysanthemum and Lavender flowerbed and stayed on top of her.
"Do you know why I put you here?" he asked her, and she shook her head.
"I don't know," she said as she placed her arms around his neck.
"These two flowers represent life, and do you know the meaning of the name Ava?" he asked in a questionable tone.
"Yes. I know what my name means," she said, and she rolled her eyes.
"Ava means life. It also means bird-like and iniquity," she said.
"You are my life, Ava," he said as he stared deep into those lavender eyes.
"You are the other half of me. That's why I go crazy when anybody touches you, the other half of my life," he said in a cool yet sweet tone. It was like you added sugar to honey.
Ever since they arrived in Paris, Noah had been open and vulnerable with her. And at this point, he was in his most vulnerable state.
She felt a soft kiss on her lips. He sucked on her lower lip as she closed her eyes. She was in ecstasy. She parted her mouth and made way for his tongue to find its way into her mouth. She let out a soft moan as he pressed himself to her. They could have kept going, but they both were out of breath. She breathed heavily to catch her breath.
He sat up with her on him as she placed her hands on his shoulders.
"I wish we could stay like this forever," she said as she ran her hands through his hair. "Away from all the problems of the world. In a world of just you and I," she said.
"Do you want us to stay in Paris longer?" he asked her with his hands around her tiny waist.
"No, we have to go home. They need us at home, and your work needs you too," she said slowly.
"Would you still be my PA? You don't have to start immediately. When we get home, you can rest," he begged.
"I'll think about it. I promise," she said with his arms around her waist.
She looked up at the setting sun. There was a faint moon in the sky, and she smiled at him.
"Sometimes I wish I was the sun. It's crazy, but I really want to be like it."
"And why is that?" he asked as she looked down at him.
"So I can shine brightly on people's lives like the sun does."
"What time is it? It's getting late. We need to get back to the hotel," he said as he helped her up.
"Yeah, we also need to get packing," she added.
"Well, you don't need to worry about that. I hired someone to do that," he said as they walked back to where the driver had parked.
Their flight was tomorrow at 10 pm, which will be 6 pm in Colorado.
"Do you think a miracle will happen and I'll have my own baby?" she asked as they slept on the bed.
"There is something we all have: hope. We hope for the best even if the worst is yet to come."
"I know I'll have a baby one day. Even if she's not my biological daughter or your son, I'll have one."
