A Second Chance
Kristen drove through the address given to her and parked, she quickly got down but was careful not to fall. Her dizziness had returned and her wound had started bleeding. Throughout her drive down to the hotel, she prayed not to pass out in the car. She took a great risk today and it's all for her mother's sake.
Getting to the lobby, she inquired and was told Lucian's room number. She took the elevator.
Ding! She was moving out of the elevator at full speed with her eyes glued to her phone. She found the room but what she saw wasn't what she expected at all. Lucian and two other men were taken away in handcuffs with gun wounds on their bodies. Lucian glared at her before he was pushed away
She was in shock and when she recovered, she looked up to see her mother was okay yet there was no smile on Mrs. King's face. She looked away from her and finally looked at the man beside her mother.
"Dad!"
She muttered and passed out.
Kristen opened her eyes and found three pairs of eyes watching her worriedly. Her mom, her dad, she can't believe she is seeing him and Frederick, her only love. Of course, she remembered him after regaining consciousness this morning. She didn't let him know because she wanted to know what Lucian was up to. Why would he lie repeatedly about being with her when she met him only twice?
She turned to her right and saw a doctor attending to her. She was brought back to her house and a doctor was called, it's been over an hour since she passed out now.
"Dad?"
Peter Chase stepped closer and smiled at her, "yes pumpkin, how are you?"
Scanning him, she realized he hadn't aged at all. If he is alive, where has he been for the past seventeen years? It's been years and she was just five when he passed away yet she can recognize him anywhere.
"I am sorry dear, it's a long story but I will cut it short. I got to know about you and your mother last year. I have been without an identity for 16 years, I didn't die in whatever accident I had, someone else's did. I was saved but from what I heard, your mother was made to believe it was me that died. I had no memories of who you were so I couldn't find you both earlier enough."
The explanation was briefed but she understood all he said, she was glad to have a second chance with her father. Her worst day turned out to be the best day so far.
"Glad to have you back, you have no idea what your precious daughter had gone through without you."
She said emotionally and sniffed back her tears because she didn't want to cry, if there is anything she should do, it will be dancing for joy.
Her mother smiled at what Peter said with so much joy in her eyes, he had explained to her why he couldn't come to them at first. He found out about Stephen's plot and later found out about Lucian's as well. So to keep them safe, he decided to do all he can to make sure the two men paid for their evil deeds. It was while on this he ran into Frederick, he was the Familiar Stranger who had stalked him after he started dating Kristen. He had been putting on a skin mask but when he found out that he could have skin cancer because of it, he stopped and that's why he wasn't recognized at first.
Frederick was stunned when he learned about this, however, he was happy things turned out fine. Peter contacted him and after telling him about Lucian's plot to forcefully get married to Kristen, he flew from Sight Lythn to this place to get the love of his life back. He can now fully tell her that he was that man she had forgotten.
Maria and Peter left the room together with the doctor after he assured them that Kristen will be fine. It was just Frederick and Kristen who were left, the room turned silent with each reaching out to the other in their minds.
Kristen suddenly looked up at him," what are you doing here, Mr. Frederick Bushman?"
Realization hit Frederick and his eyes lit in joy, "you remember?"
"Of course, I did. Were you expecting me not to?"
Frederick shook his head frantically, " Not at all but how long?"
"Longer enough to know that you are a gentleman."
She responded and gestured for him to help her get up.
He did and sat beside her, intertwining his fingers with hers.
"So you knew earlier today and you acted like you didn't?" Frederick wasn't sad or angry, he was glad. His love was back to him for good.
"I wanted to know what Lucian was up to and besides, I couldn't wrap my hand around the fact that you and Noami were an item but after what you displayed earlier when she caught us kissing, I knew right away that there was nothing and if I know you better, Noami is the last person you want to have anything to do with. And whatever reason that you wanted me to believe you both were something, I don't care. I am just happy to have you back in my life, I missed you."
Her voice broke off into soft sobs and Frederick pulled her close to him and wiped the tears that rolled down his cheek.
"I missed you too, and these past two weeks we both spent apart from each other. I will make it up to you, happy to call you mine again, Kristen Chase."
She laughed and leaned up kissing him.
"I love you and I promise to be a better partner and a mother."
That's right, she was going to be the mother of his kids.
"Let's get married already!"
Frederick exclaimed and kissed her hungrily. There was so much, he wanted to tell her but he will leave talking for now and savage the moment.
"Of course, I am ever ready to be yours, Frederick Bushman," Kristen thought in between the kiss. She was glad that everything was finally over. Those after her life were put behind bars and as for Lucian, when she visits him in prison, she will smile at him and wish him all the best in prison.
Nothing ever again will come between Frederick and her, she made that solemn promise to herself.
When the kiss finally ended, both bumped their foreheads together and smiled.
"We have got each other for life," Frederick assured her and then pulled her in for another kiss.
THE END?
