Hospitalized
In the blink of an eye, Kristen was surrendered and rushed into a ward before Frederick could recover from his shock.
His brother can't be fighting for his life and his lost love is also unconscious. What's happening? Frederick needed to know what all these were.
He wasn't allowed into the ward until Kristen was stable, it was an order from the doctor.
It was going to be a long evening for him.
Quietly, he sat down in the waiting room, leaning against the wall. He closed his eyes and waited for news.
*************
Maria King paced around her room, looking restless. She has been trying to call her daughter but she has not been picking up.
Kristen is not angry with her or is she?
She somehow knew that something was wrong with her daughter. No matter how angry Kristen will be with her, she can't ignore her calls for that long therefore she is some sort of danger.
Maria decided that if she did not get through to Kristen by tomorrow morning, she is visiting her and probably bring her back. She needs to be within reach and again, her wedding is soon.
She stopped pacing and walked out of her room.
********************
He sat silently on the bench across from the entrance of the hospital, his elbows resting on his legs. He watched people walking past, their backs turned against him. He felt his heart ache every time someone passed by him but he didn’t try to talk to them. He felt lost, really lost. This has to be the longest hour he had waited, on one hand, is his brother, and on the other hand, Kristen. He had many emotions running through his head, fear, panic, and many more. The only thing he knew is that he would go crazy if he had to sit here anymore.
Frederick stood up and started making his way towards the entrance of the hospital when his phone began ringing in his pocket. He took the call and ended it as soon as possible.
As he raised his head, the doctor was making his way towards him. He met the doctor halfway, " Doctor, how is she?"
"She is alright and the baby is fine, your brother is out of danger too."
The best news ever.
Frederick could finally smile genuinely and he reached out to shake the doctor's hands, "Thank you, thank you so much."
"As per your request, both have been
put in the same ward."
Frederick didn't mind and pulled the doctor into a hug.
"Thank you so much."
The doctor patted him on the back, "You are welcome. We do our best here."
Both pulled apart and the doctor walked off after.
A nurse opened the door of the ward and Frederick walked in, he smiled in his tears.
"Thanks, guys, for pulling through."
He mumbled and walked in, he can take care of both of them. All that the two of them can do for him is regain consciousness.
THE NEXT MORNING......
Kristen opened her eyes slowly and found someone leaning against the bed, sleeping in an awkward manner. She tried raising her head but it ached. She studied the features of the guy and found that it was the guy from yesterday, Frederick. He was still in the same outfit he wore yesterday and he looked tired and worn out, probably from sleeping in that awkward position he is in right now.
She turned and found another bed by the end of the room and realized that she was in the hospital.
Gabby was brought to the hospital but why is she the one in the hospital instead?
Her head was aching badly and she seriously needed it to stop. As she turned to make herself comfortable, Frederick woke up and their eyes met. She saw that same sadness she saw in his eyes yesterday.
Did something bad happen to her?
"Why am I here and how is your brother?"
"He is over there," he replied pointing over to the patient on the other bed, "And you are here because you hit your head really hard." He concluded and stood up, stretching in the process. His body was really stuffy and his neck ached because of the awkward manner in which he slept. He had to do that to be uncomfortable for him to be alert throughout the night in case something comes up but thankfully nothing did come up.
"How is he?"
"He is fine, he will recover in no time."
Kristen sighed and looked over to Gabby. She felt for him and wondered if the attack on him was because of her. Who would want her dead? And the possibility that she might have died by now hit her. She wasn't afraid for her dear life but for the little life growing inside of her.
"What would have happened if that bullet hit me?"
Kristen had no answer to that thought of hers.
"When will I be discharged?"
Frederick stared at her, like if she was being real. She is badly hurt on her head and she is talking about getting discharged. He was really hoping she would at least recover her lost memories after hitting her head so hard but things like this happen in the movie.
"I am not sure that will be today. The doctor said you need to be watched over and I am making sure of that."
Kristen panicked. Her phone isn't with her and her mom will be dead worried by now. She was so sure that her mother had called a million times already plus she was supposed to see Lucian's parents yesterday and tomorrow is her wedding. She was suddenly thinking about her wedding, not just that thought, another sickening thought was growing inside of her. Like something bad will happen.
"I need to talk to my mom right away."
Frederick's heart rate paused for a second. He doesn't have her contact and he can't leave them alone to go get her cell phone at her house. It was a really big problem and he also knows that Kristen won't hear any reasoning unless she speaks to her mother. What should he do now?
Kristen started to get up and he rushed to her, "you don't have to get up."
Kristen thought of listening to him, however, the sick feeling came again and she knew that she had to call her mother. Something terrible is about to happen and she can't say what it is. Until she hears Mrs. King's voice, she won't be at peace.
"You know what, I will call Noami to get the cell phone for you."
It was a good suggestion and for the first time that morning, both thought about Naomi.
"What kind of a girlfriend is she? isn't she supposed to be here or at least have called me?"
Frederick thought and brought out his phone to call her when the ward door opened, standing right at the door was his nemesis.
