Blood is thicker than hate part 2
This chapter is unedited.
"I think you two should talk and put your differences aside, get to know why you hate each other, maybe you'll be able to settle it," Ruth suggested, Santiago looked at her but didn't utter a word, he circled his hands around her waist and pulled her closer and rested his head on her shoulder.
"Sometimes it's okay to be weak and show emotions Santiago." She weaved her hand through his wet logs.
"Thank you, but I think I'll pass. I don't want to know him, let's just stay the way we are."
Ruth just shook his head, both of them are stubborn and are too proud to talk to the other, they are hiding behind the hate they once had for each other. If he truly still hated him then he wouldn't be feeling bad right now.
She stood up and pulled him up, she took him into the room, "Put something on and come down, we are all waiting for you." She kissed him and left. He wore he clothes and went down to join them.
Mateo on the other hand had regained consciousness and was sitting staring at nothingness, he was wondering why he wasn't angry at Santiago for shooting him and for stealing his products. It's like he had expected for Santiago to know his plan but he didn't do anything to stop him.
He jumped down from the bed, his doctor stared at him wondering where he was going to when he had to rest. "I'll advise you to sit back down and rest, you might feel dizzy." The doctor said.
"I'm okay." He walked out of the room and drove off, he went to his house and locked himself up in the room. His plans to capture Ruth and make her his had evaporated like water under heat.
"This is messing with my mind, I shouldn't have gone to that stupid meeting when the sister called me, I should have just turn her down." He mumbled to himself.
Both brothers were in their own world, not knowing that somewhere in a dark room, a group of people they know very well were holding a meeting on how to take Santiago out.
"Why are you people frightened? Santiago isn't as powerful as we thought, we were scared of him because we didn't know who he was but now we do and he is no match compared to us." And old man said, his face.
The others looked at him, one decided to talk, "Incase you don't know, Santiago De León is still the same man despite being known . Do you know what he did to the person who told Mateo about his deal? That person his living a life without eyes to see. He gauged his eyes out and gave it to his dogs to feed on."
The old man laughed, "This only shows how weak he is because if I was in his shoes then I'd have killed the motherfucker who snitched on me with my nemesis."
"I'm not going to be a part of this, if you want to take Santiago down, do it on your own but don't count me in. If you succeed then congratulations to you and if you don't, may your soul rest in perfect peace." The man left with his guards following him behind.
He wasn't the only one who left, everyone else left the old man there, some where scared of Santiago while others didn't just want to get involved. The old man sat in the room, he was angry at the people who called themselves mafias, they were all cowards.
He took his leave too, he decided to do it on his own. He is going to take Santiago on aware, he knows where Santiago lives now so it's not going to be hard to be hard to get him.
Meanwhile at the police station, General Nikolas was still hot on the mafia case. He has to catch at least one mafia or else he would be demoted, he is going to be ruined if he doesn't. He had a pile of papers on his desk, he was going through all of them, there was a board in front of him with Mateo and Santiago's picture on it with other related stuff.
Santiago isn't his only target but Mateo is too. He started suspecting Mateo after the kidnap. He was wondering that what if all the things he has been doing is just to cover up his dirty business? To get the people on his side while he does his drug business unknown.
Nikolas massaged his neck, he was getting tired and his neck hurts, he has been staring at papers for too long. It seemed like he was the only one left on the station. He decided to call it a night, there's no clue anyways so what's the need of staying over night when he can. Just got back home to his wife and continue again tomorrow.
He packed up and left the station.
"Santiago," Andrew called, he has been with Santiago long enough to know that something was bothering him.
"Mmmm?"
"Is there something bothering you? I've been noticing it, you don't look like you." He stared at him, examining his every move.
"I'm fine, just wondering if it'd be okay to continue the project with Mateo, you know, the Home For All project." He glanced at Andrew and looked away the very minute.
"Why would you do that?" Andrew asked.
"Because despite our differences, that project is going to help a lot of homeless kids and orphans, I still want to do it." He muttered.
"I see, I can call Mateo's secretary, I still have his number plus you both signed a contract which means you are both bounded by thsg contract you signed." Andrew pulled out his phone ready to call but Santiago waved his hand motioning him to stop.
"It's late, the poor guy would be asleep already," muttered and Andrew nodded.
They were quiet for while until Andrew decided to speak again, "It's that all??" He raised an eyebrow.
"Huh?"
"See, you are not even here with me Santiago. The Home For All is not the only thing keeping your mind busy...."
