Chapter 68
Anna’s POV:
It doesn’t matter now. Where are you sleeping tonight?” I asked Blake, too exhausted to say anything more.
\Blake’s expression darkened as he observed me from across the room His ice–blue eyes grew colder by the second, scanning me like
I was a puzzle he couldn’t quite solve.
“You said it doesn’t matter,” he finally said, his voice low. “Not I believe you. There’s a difference, Anna.”
I moved closer to him, the thin silk of my nightgown clinging to my still–damp skin. “Does it matter, Blake? I don’t care. You said it yourself–as long as I’m still Mrs. Wright, right?”
His eyes flickered down my body, lingering where the silk revealed more than it concealed. I wasn’t wearing anything underneath. and Blake’s physical iesponse was immediate, despite his attempt at maintaining composure.
“I was naive before,” I continued, trailing my fingers along his collarbone. “Now I see things clearly. After everything I’ve been through–losing career opportunities, losing my father–I’m exhausted. Being next to you is still the safest place for me.
I’d discovered how easily Blake could be aroused, how his control could slip.
As my fingers traced from his throat downward, I noticed his Adam’s apple bob, his breathing deepen. Like a hungry wolf trying to contain itself.
In one swift motion, Blake lifted me up, his hands gripping my thighs hard enough to leave marks on my pale skin. His face buried between my breasts, teeth grazing the edge of my nightgown, tongue teasing through the thin fabric.
“Get on the bed,” he commanded, his voice rough with desire.
“No,” I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist, one hand clutching the doorknob while the other slipped beneath his waistband. “Right here. I like standing.”
His eyes flashed dangerously as his pupils dilated with lust. He yanked at my nightgown, buttons scattering across the floor as he exposed my skin.
“You weren’t this eager earlier today,” he taunted, his breath hot against my ear. “I wonder what Seth would think if he saw how desperate you are for me.”
His lips and teeth worked their way down my neck and shoulder, leaving a trail of marks. “When his childhood friend become he started, pulling my hair back to expose my throat.
I bit his shoulder hard to shut him up, not wanting to hear Seth’s name. Blake groaned, half in pain, half in pleasure.
His hands gripped my waist tightly, his fingers digging into my skin as he pressed me against the wall.
The cool surface of the wall contrasted with the heat of his body, sending shivers down my spine.
Blake hiked one of my legs higher around his waist, his other hand sliding under my nightgown to caress my bare skin. His touch was both gentle and possessive, sending waves of sensation through me.
I glanced at the door I’d purposely left slightly ajar, ensuring our sounds would carry into the hallway.
I smiled coldly, raking my nails down his broad back, leaving angry red trails from his shoulders to his waist.

Blake’s breath hitched, and he responded by pinning me harder against the wall, his movements growing more intense, His lips found mine in a bruising kiss, his tongue demanding entry.
I met his fervor with my own, or kisses becoming a battle for dominance.
My moans grew louder, more deliberate.
His hands roamed my body with a newfound urgency, his touch setting my skin alight. He moved his lips to my neck, sucking and biting, leaving marks that would surely be visible later.
I arched into him, my body craving more of his touch.
“Say my name,” he growled against my ear, his voice rough with desire.
“Blake,” I moaned, my voice barely more than a whisper. “Blake.”
He let out a deep, satisfied groan, his movements growing frantic. The tension between us reached a boiling point, each touch and kiss pulling us closer to the edge.
I clung to him, my nails digging into his shoulders as I lost myself in the moment.
As we neared climax, our movements synchronized in a desperate dance of need. Blake’s grip tightened, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
My own breathing matched his, each exhale a moan, each inhale a plea for more.
Afterward, I clung to him as he tried to button his pajama top, slipping my fingers between the fabric and his skin.
“Will you stay tonight?” I asked, my voice soft and pleading.
He caught my hand and pressed a kiss to my palm. “Ever since the last time, Claire…” he paused, seemingly reluctant to ruin the moment. “She’s been having nightmares. I just need to check on her, make sure she’s asleep, then I’ll come back.”
I helped him with the buttons, smiling gently. “Go ahead.”
His demeanor changed instantly. He grabbed my arm and threw me onto the bed, following me down with his weight.
“Ow! Why aren’t you leaving when I said you could go?” I protested.
Blake’s expression darkened, his brows furrowed as he stared down at me. “So understanding?” he questioned, gripping my chin.
I didn’t fight back, remaining compliant beneath him.
He deliberately unbuttoned his collar, exposing the hickeys I’d left. Marking me then covering it up? Anna, you’re so good at fooling yourself.”
My body trembled slightly. “What do you want from me, honey?” I asked lazily.
“The same question, Blake. If you had to choose between Claire and me, would you pick me?”
As he opened his mouth to respond, I pressed my finger to his lips. Don’t say it. If you feel even a h… of guilt about this, then maybe these four years of marriage haven’t been entirely in vain.”
Silence hung between us for a moment before Blake stood up, looking down at me from his full height. A dangerous light flashed in
his eyes.
