Chapter 303
Where will you go now?” I asked, concerned.
Seth laughed bitterly. I’m perfectly calm, Annie. I’ve never been more clear headed in life.” The moonlight caught the hard determination in ids POR
“I’m sorry,” I said, my voice catching. “But I meant everything I said. Please take care of yourself:
Who the fuck wants your apology? Seth snarled, his voice hoarse with emotion. “I don’t need your pity! The person messing with your head is Blakes You fo not betraying me you’re betraying yourself and Nora!
I tried to explain, but Seth cut me off. “Stop lying to yourself, Anna. I don’t want to hear it. He turned and stormed away.
I stood frozen, my hands gripping the railing. Less than five minutes later, my phone buzzed. Daniel’s voice came through, urgent and alarmed: “Ms. Anderson, Seth just dragged Blake into an elevator!”
Seth’s POV:
I found Blake easily enough. He was in a corner, drinking alone, his eyes distant and cold
“Still haunting her life?‘ I growled, approaching him.
Blake looked up, his expression impassive.
In one swift motion, I grabbed his collar. “You just can’t stay away, can you?”
“Looking for a fight?” Blake asked coolly.
My teeth clenched. “Yeah, I’ve been wanting to beat the shit out
of
you for a long time.”
Blake didn’t resist as I shoved him toward the elevator. When his back hit the elevator wall with a thud, he merely straightened his jacket.
I shoved him toward the elevator. When the doors closed, Blake’s eyes flashed dangerously before he threw the first punch.
We fought fiercely–my strength against his precision. Blake kicked me hard. I grabbed his sleeve as I fell, tearing the fabric.
Blake ripped off his jacket and threw it at me. “What right do you have to attack me?” he snarled, his eyes burning with rage. “Are you enjoying sleeping with my woman?”
“Your woman?” I shouted. “What gives you the right to call Anna yours?”
“Why did you have to come back into her life?” I demanded, my voice trembling. “She was finally healing! And now you’ve pushed her back into the abyss. How can you be so selfish?”
I felt tears stinging my eyes. “Anna never mentioned you once in three years! Do you know how much she suffered? When she nearly died giving birth to Nora, who was waiting outside that hospital room? Me! I’ve been there for her every step of the way!”
I raised my fist. “I should kill you for what you’ve done to her.”
My punch connected with Blake’s jaw. His lip split, blood trickling down his chin, but he made no move to dodge.
“Why aren’t you fighting back?” I asked, confused.
Blake’s mouth twisted into a bitter smile. “I deserved that. As her ex–husband and future husband, I thank you for taking care of her. I can support the child too–it doesn’t matter who she calls ‘dad.”
I froze, my rage suddenly replaced by shock.

I stared at Blake, stunned realization dawning on me. He doesn’t know Anna was already pregnant when she left the country.
A crushing weight settled on my chest. I’d changed Nora’s last name to spite Blake something even Anna didn’t know.
I’d been so certain Blake had abandoned Anna, but now doubt crept in. Had I been wrong all along?
