Blake’s POV:
I could tell Anna was faking sleep
Her body was rigid, pressed against the edge of the bed as far from me as possible. Her breathing wasn’t deep enough, and she was holding herself to alt
Finally, she’s back in my bed.
I reached out and slid my arm around her slender waist, pulling her into my chest. She stiffened immediately.
The familiar scent of her hair mixed with the fresh smell of her shower gel made my heart race. There was something deeply satisfying about feeling her body tense at my touch.
She let out a small gasp. I loosened my hold, keeping my voice deliberately cool.
‘Don’t lie so far away. We’re sharing the same blanket, and you’re letting cold air in.”
Anna jerked away and started to get up. “I’ll go get another blanket from downstairs.”
“Don’t bother,” I said, feeling irritated and tired. “Emily will be back tomorrow anyway.”
In the quiet of the night, I could hear her rapid heartbeat. Her delicate fingers clutched the edge of the blanket tightly.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
“It’s just a transaction,” I replied flatly, eyes closed. I patted the space beside me. “Go to sleep.”
I pretended to drift off, but remained acutely aware of every tiny movement she made. This woman who once loved me so completely was now back in my bed only because of a deal. The thought was both satisfying and infuriating.
Just as I was actually starting to fall asleep, I felt her hand push against my shoulder.
“What about Seth?” she asked.
I opened my eyes, furious at being disturbed. My brow furrowed deeply, “Anna, are you doing this on purpose?”
The moonlight caught her amber eyes, making her look even more/stubborn than usual.
“What do you mean ‘on purpose‘?” she replied with fake innocence. “I just wanted to ask about Seth. You promised me.”
“An–na!” I growled each syllable of her name, feeling anger build in my chest.
She was deliberately pushing me, mentioning Seth–again. She used to love me completely, and now she was bargaining her return to my bed for that asshole’s freedom. The thought made me see red.
In one swift move, I grabbed her waist and pinned her to the mattress. I held myself above her, hands planted on either side of her head.
“Maybe you should pay some interest on our deal,” I said, looking down at her.
Her breathing quickened, her body trembling slightly beneath me. But instead of fear, she surprised me by hooking her arms around my neck and pulling me closer. Her lips brushed my ear, her warm breath sending shivers down my spine.
‘Blake, unless you force me, you won’t have me until Seth is free.”
Rage and desire surged through me at once. “What the fuck is Seth Price to you that you’d threaten me for him?” I couldn’t hide the jealousy in my voice.
I deliberately tore her silk nightgown, satisfied by the sound of fabric ripping in the quiet bedroom. The pieces scattered across the dark sheets.

Chapter 207
I took in her nearly naked body beneath me, every curve familiar yet somehow new, her skin glowing in the moonlight,
‘I’ve never needed your permission to fuck you,” I said, voice low and possessive.
I pressed down on her smooth shoulders, feeling her shiver from the cool air against her exposed skin. My palm covered her full breast, thumb delegacy rolling over her sensitive nipple, watching with satisfaction as it hardened under my touch.
I lowered my mouth to one rosy peak, my tongue circling the sensitive bud while my fingers teased the other. I felt her involuntary sadder and smiled against her skin.
My fingertips trailed slowly from her chest down her flat stomach, circling her navel before moving lower.
