Chapter 202
Anna’s POV:
ake’s tall figure blocking the overhead light. His black tailored suit looked impeccable as always, not a single wrinkle in
sight.
I felt a surge of anger looking at him, convinced he was Scarletts supporter behind the scenes.
I glanced down at my own clothes, wrinkled from days of running around. The contrast couldn’t be more obvious. I tried to walk past him without engaging – no point in asking for trouble.
Suddenly, his hand gripped my arm. My body reacted instinctively, like I’d been electrocuted, and I yanked my arm away.
“Don’t you have anything to say to me?” he asked coolly.
“Sorry, no time for reminiscing,” I replied, my tone deliberately distant.
“Your time is worthless to me,” Blake said coldly. He placed his hand on my shoulder, pressing down firmly. “Time stops now. Do you want to go back to the past, or continue taking risks?”
I struggled but couldn’t break free. “In the past, I wanted to hold your hand. Now your touch only makes me want to run
away!” I added bitterly, “There is no past between us.”
I watched his expression change. He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, all emotion had vanished.
“Get out!” he commanded, pointing to the end of the hallway.
Blake turned and entered Scarlett’s room. I lingered outside, expecting to hear crying or shouting. Surprisingly, there was
nothing. I knew I should leave before Blake came back out to avenge Scarlett.
Blake’s POV:
I pressed my fingers against my temple, fighting the throbbing headache that wouldn’t subside. Across the hospital room, Scarlett sat on the bed crying, her face haggard. The silence between us felt oppressive until she finally broke it.
“Blake, I was only doing this for you,” she explained, her voice breaking. “I just wanted Anna to

back to you. When
I approached her, feeling a flicker of pity at her disheveled appearance. I realized that letting Scarlett continue would only push Anna further away from me.
“Scarlett, I bought you a house in London,” I announced, my voice firm. “I’ve transferred five million dollars to your
account. Our collaboration is over.”
Her eyes widened in shock. “Blake, what did you say?”
I don’t make a habit of repeating myself. You heard me.”
I sighed, but my resolve didn’t waver.
It took Scarlett nearly three minutes to process this information, but she still couldn’t accept it. “Blake, are you saying you

used me and now you’re kicking me to the curb? Haha…”
Her laughter had an almost anic edge that made me uncomfortable.
Blake, I’m bleeding for you! I’m bleeding for you, why don’t you believe I’m doing this for your own good?” she said “frantically. “Anna’s stubborn. You can’t win her over with normal methods. You need to play rough! You don’t understand women you should listen to me.”
–
She clutched at straws. “Have I ever lied to you? I’ve always been the most obedient.”
Scarlett got off the bed and grabbed my sleeve. I wanted to pull away immediately but restrained myself.
“Even if you step back, didn’t you say that if you lost interest in Anna, you’d consider being with me? I don’t care if you love me or not, I just want a family with you!”
Her voice rose desperately. “Blake, have you forgotten what you said?”
I shook off her hand, irritated by her touch. “I have no feelings for you. Even if I lost interest in Anna, I’d still feel nothing for you. I’ve always seen you as a friend.”
Thinking of Anna’s expression when she looked at me earlier, I felt a surge of frustration. “Scarlett, you shouldn’t have gone after her friend.”
I knew Anna cared far more about Emily than she did about me.
Lillian’s accident had already made Anna partially blame me; if anything happened to her friend, any chance with Anna would be completely destroyed.
“Why shouldn’t I?” Scarlett argued, ignoring the pain in her hand. “Blake, aren’t you all about efficiency? Why waste so much time on Anna? Do you love her?”
She was watching me closely, searching for something in my expression. I kept my face neutral, not wanting to give her any ammunition.
I shook my head. “No, I don’t. But whether I love her or not has nothing to do with you going after her!”
“Then why didn’t you tell her you could get her friend out on bail right away?” Scarlett challenged. ‘Is it because you don’t have that power, or because you want to enjoy making her beg you?”
She tilted her head, studying me. “Blake, I do have my own agenda here.”
“You might have patience, but I don’t anymore. How much more time do you want me to waste on you?”
“I wanted to speed up your relationship. If you two get together I’ll back off. If she refuses to come back, then we can be together. At least give me something to hope for, right?”
I filtered out most of her words, only hearing: “How much more time do you want me to waste on
you?”
“Do you know how many years she’s spent on me?” I asked quietly, not expecting an answer. I already knew.
As I spoke, I backed away, suddenly aware of what I needed to do. I turned and rushed out, my mind focused on one thing only finding Anna before it was too late.
