Chapter 139
Anna’s POV:
war personal items and whatever else you keep–1 don’t know where you store them, Blake said, his voice cold as ice.
I started to answer, “They’re in the bedroom-
“Don’t tell me,” he cut me off. “Just find them yourself.”
I fell silent, my emotions suddenly doused like a flame hit with ice water. Why bother saying another word? It would just he humiliating myself further.
The marriage certificate he mentioned–the one he wanted me to take away–used to mean everything to me.
In those early days after our wedding, when Blake first started growing distant, I’d often take it out and stare at it for hours. I’d even bought a special diamond–encrusted box to keep it safe. Diamonds for forever, for eternity… what a joke, that turned out to be.
I tried to focus on anything other than the suffocating silence in the car. But my mind betrayed me, flashing images of our intimate moments–the way my body trembled at his touch, the sweat on his muscles when we made love. This was pure torture, sitting here next to him, remembering what we once had.
My body was heating up against my will. Even my breathing felt hot and labored. The air conditioner seemed useless in the confined space of the luxury car–the same car he’d specifically chosen for our dates years ago.
Blake glanced at me coldly. “Take everything from Seaside Manor while you’re at it.”
“Tomorrow I can get someone to- My voice trailed off as I saw his expression.
“No. Tonight. I don’t want your things in my house for one more second.” His tone left no room for argument.
Anger flared inside me. “Do I disgust you that much? Why not just stop the car and throw me out right now?” My hands clenched
into fists.
Blake stared straight ahead at the road. “Yes. You’re annoying.”
His expression was too honest, too cruel. I knew his background–the privileged upbringing as the Wright family’s only son, always getting what he wanted. He’d never learned to hide his true feelings or consider others. But knowing that didn’t make it hurt any
less.
Blake Wright. The name I’d repeated to myself like a prayer for years. And all I meant to him was “annoying.”
“You’re annoying to me too!” I shot back, trying to sound tough while my heart splintered. I pressed myself against the car door and closed my eyes, praying we’d reach our destination soon.
Suddenly, strong arms yanked me across the seat. Cool lips invaded my mouth with unstoppable force. His scent enveloped me as Blake kissed me violently.
His kiss hit me like a thunderstorm, completely unexpected.

His tongue explored my mouth with skilled determination, leaving me no time to react or resist. Every sense in my body seemed to fade away, except for that faint tobacco scent at the tip of my nose, numbing my brain.
He expressed his wordless desire through his kiss. In an instant, all the blood in my body rushed to my head, every nerve pushed to the brink by his wild action, making me almost suffocate with intensity…

When I finally came to my senses and pressed my palm against his chest to push him away, he immediately caught my hand, Interlocking our fingers tightl
The next second, he pinned my hand against the car window, leaving a heated imprint on the glass.
Blake seemed to have lost control.
My body was imprisoned inch by inch. He didn’t give me any chance to escape. His once cold lips became scorching hot during our fierce entanglement. When I tried to speak, he seized the opportunity to slide his tongue deeper, swallowing all my struggles and choked sounds…
After what felt like forever, I finally got a moment to breathe. I bit down hard on his tongue, and the taste of blood instantly filled the air between us, forcing him to pull back.
Blake stared at me with bloodshot eyes, licking the corner of his mouth where blood was seeping out. His gaze full of accusation, he asked in a husky voice, “Still think I’m annoying?”
Trembling with rage, I slapped him hard across the face. The sound echoed sharply in the car.
He didn’t dodge. A red mark spread across his cheek, but his eyes only grew darker.
“We’re getting divorced!” I declared, my voice shaking.
Blake laughed coldly. “I know that. That’s why you should hate me completely. It’ll save you from missing me after the divorce
“This is assault!” I accused.
“Really? And what are you going to do about it?” he taunted.
The words hit me like a sledgehammer. Without another word, he gripped the back of my neck with one hand and pressed down toward me again, not giving me a second to think…
What could I do to him?
That question shackled me completely, dragging me down like a weight underwater. The sensation of drowning overwhelmed me
instantly.
He asked the similar question to me, just like Claire did.
I imagined Blake saying those words when he bailed Claire out, his head held high, earning her adoration. How could a sister not love a brother who protected her with such conviction?
But Blake already had someone he was supposed to protect–so why was he treating me this way?
This kiss was pure aggression, primal and savage, accompanied by pain…
Just when I thought I couldn’t bear it any longer, his force finally subsided, and the kiss gradually became slower, more tender, almost loving.
His eyes seemed filled with countless unspoken words, but I couldn’t see clearly anymore–tears had already flooded my vision.
He released me, and we were both left in torment.
The car crunched over the gravel driveway as we arrived at Seaside Manor. Claire was waiting outside in pink pajamas with cartoon bunnies on them, looking far too energetic for this late hour.

She jumped into Blake’s arms like an excited child. I averted my eye and rushed straight to the master bedroom, my heels clicking sharply on the marble floor.
In the bedroom, 1 pulled open the bottom drawer of my nightstand, arching for my diamond box. It wasn’t there.
Loking for something?”
I turned to see Claire in the doorway, her arm wrapped around Blakes.
‘Anna, didn’t you say you’d give me the master bedroom? You’re not being stingy now, are you?” Her voice dripped with fake sweetness.
“Blakey,” she purred, leaning against him.
Blake stood with his hands in his pockets, his stance clearly supporting Claire.
“Where are my things?” I demanded, panic rising in my chest.
Claire smiled. “We thought you weren’t coming back. Everything’s in the basement. Go find it yourself!”
