Chapter 126
1 dragged myself out of bed and headed to the hospital after a quick shower that did little to revive me.
The IP room was easy to find–Wright money ensured Blake’s “precious” sister got the best care.
Standing outside the door, I took a deep breath, squared my shoulders, and pushed it open.
Claire was lying in bed, scrolling through her phone, looking bored. Her cheeks were rosy–a far cry from the “pale, pitiful state‘ her brother had described yesterday.
No sign of the “deathly ill” ster Blake had been so concerned about Just Claire, comfortable and content, probably enjoying the chaos she’d created.
“Claire!” I called out sharply.
She jumped, startled, then recovered with a sneer when she saw me. Anna, what are you doing here? I heard no one could find you. Shouldn’t you be hiding at home with all the curtains drawn, crying alone in the dark?”
Her smile widened, cruel and satisfied. “You’re not very good at seducing my brother, are you? Now that everyone’s seen your naked
body online, you don’t have much leverage to stay with him!”
I remained calm, a slight smile playing on my lips.
I lowered my gaze, a faint smile tugging at my lips. No one could reach me because I had turned my phone off yesterday to get some proper rest. Otherwise, it would’ve been ringing nonstop, and how was I supposed to sleep like that?
I never expected her to think I was hiding out of fear.
“So you admit it was you,” I said flatly.
Claire laughed carelessly, tossing her hair back. “Anna, haven’t I admitted enough? I’ve admitted to ruining your marriage, framing you, and just plain hating you. But now you’re the slut everyone’s attacking, and I’m Blake’s beloved princess. What can you do about
it?”
She leaned forward, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. Anna, team up with me to send Scarlett back to London, and I’ll tell everyone those nude photos were Photoshopped. I’ll restore your reputation. How about-”
Before she could finish, I grabbed her hair and slapped her twice across the face, the sound cracking through the quiet hospital room. The shock on her face was almost worth everything I’d been through.
Looking down at her, I said coldly, “Blake can protect you for now, but can he protect you forever? I have all the time in the world to
play with you,”
She sat on the floor, trembling. “Anna, you dared to hit me!”
I slapped her again, harder this time. “Watch how you speak to me. Consider this a lesson in manners.”
“No one… no one has ever dared hit me!” she stuttered, her hand pressed against her reddening cheek.
Another slap.
“Anna! I’ll have Blake kill you!” she shrieked, her voice rising to a hysterical pitch.
I hit her again. By now, she was shaking, her eyes darting around fearfully, looking for an escape that wasn’t coming.

Chapter 126
Excuse me, you can come in now, I called toward the door.
Two police officers entered. Michael had heard about my situation and had arranged for them to accompany me. I’d told them I knew Claire was behind the photo and promised not to leave empty handed.
Clafre screamed for Blake, but there was no answer. She turned to the officers: “Officers, I want to report an assault! Anna hit me- you must have heard it from outside!”
The officers exchanged glances before putting handcuffs on Claire,
“We weren’t outside just now,” one said. “Ms. Anderson, you’re saying her face was already injured when you arrived, correct?”
I nodded, watching as they fed Claire away, her protests fading down the hallway.
This was just the beginning.
